--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

feel free to write a match preview of any game this weekend and/or match prediction

i will start with:

fulham v limnos

well this is the derby we had been looking for since the fixtures were announced (not that there is bad blood between the 2) but the close proximity of the 2 clubs (and sort of greek v italians, altho both clubs have plenty of other nationalities amongst the ranks) as well as few players from both sides knowing each other and being mates, sets up a prospect of great match... with both teams supposedly ball playing teams

altho recent form of limnos, with 3 heavy defeats... the morale and confidence is at a low... but i no the boys will be up for it!
1 point separates the two going into this game and a win for fulham will pull them away from the relegation dogfight and further put limnos into it... a subsequent win for limnos will ease the pressure and boost the confidence and in return drag fulham closer to the bottom 2...

will we see a cautious approach from both sides with emphasis on containment and fear of not losing or will we see 1 team dominate and the other put under the pump or will we see a ding dong battle with both sides losing their defensive inhabitions and attack without fear?

all in all, get down to collins reserve off valetta rd sunday arvo coz u wont be disappointed!!!

score: fulham 2 limnos 3

last round score: fulham 0 limnos 1 in an entertaining game

rd 17 match prediction:

the penultimate round of the season sees the local derby thrust upon us again... last round the situation was alittle different with both teams struggling at the foot of the table... a gutsy effort by limnos saw it beat fulham 1-0... the only change this time around is fulhams 2nd half of the season revival has them with a slight chance for promotion

limnos on the other hand have been inconsistent to say the least and it is really pot luck which team hits the ground on sundays to the frustrations of the coach
wins vs southern knights and para hills east and losses to pumas and bosna  are the prime examples

this weeks game promises to be a beauty with limnos at home a different side to the 1 that travels... fulham have 2 inform strikers who pose a serious threat but with iminent return to the team of the skipper for limnos, the threat will hopefully be extinguished...
limnos also look set to regain another 3 key players who return from injury for this clash... the stingrays still need a point to be certain of avoiding the drop, otherwise it will be left to the final round

prediction:

LIMNOS 3 FULHAM 2

Good to see the Limnos boys backing their team, and orchestrating Macos demise! Well Greece winning Euro 2004 has shown us that anything can happen in football...!

WEST BEACH 2 vs P/HILLS EAST 1 - beach have been plugging along and been the quiet achievers - will take the points against a struggling east outfit low on confidence and struggling without Krollig.

LIMNOS 0 vs FULHAM 1 - will be tight game - 1 goal in it either way - hopefully our way

INGLE FARM 1 vs MACEDONIA 1 - the loss to us will hurt Farm and even with a couple of players back for Farm Maco's have to much pride to go down to DIV 3 - been years since they been down that low

BOSNA 1 vs MOD VISTA 1 - Bosna have a sniff now and Vista will again struggle to score goals

KNIGHTS 2 vs PUMAS 2 - very hard to win at Knights ground but Pumas have enough strike force to suggest they can pinch a point and keep they survival chances going

I assumed Krollig has missed a few games with injuries as he has not troubled the scorers sheet on the amateur league website for a while (not including ur game against Pumas because I dont know the goal scorers).

I did hear he missed a few games with injury???

how many did he get cos our top scorer (John Lipari) moved to 11 after Sun - Krollig had 13 before Sun.

Talk about choking... The PH Easts have lead the league all the way through from the start and have recently been struggling as of late. Will they choke and lose the title? What does everyone think?

I saw the game vs Ingle Farm on the weekend, Lipari should have had 4, missed an open goal in first half without even the keeper to beat and blew it, and with only the keeper to beat in second half he chipped him a lollipop.

HERE ARE MY PREDICTIONS.

WEST BEACH 1 vs P/HILLS EAST 1
LIMNOS 1 vs FULHAM 3
INGLE FARM 3 vs MACEDONIA 0
BOSNA 1 vs MOD VISTA 2
KNIGHTS 2 vs PUMAS 1

Haha - you Fulham boys just keep clinging to that hope that everyone will fall over and let you get promoted. It'll be like that AUssie dude that won the speed skating gold medal at the Olympics.

Gotta admire your optimism boys. It's a shame, as you would probably go up if there were 4 games left.

Well, well, havent the results been interesting these last few weeks. You would have been certian that farm and PHE would have secure their place in div 1 after PHE beating vista. But proves nothing is a certainty. There are some teams, Fulham & beach that are really starting to show their capabilities. Im pretty happy that PHE don't have to play Fulham and beach because that would be tough for them to be top all year and then maybe not be promoted because of the last 5 results. But anyway, well done to all of the teams at the bottom half, because even if there is nothing to play for, i.e. Knights, they have really embraced the league realising that they can change the future!!!
This week, as all have said is going to be a cracker jack weekend:
Beach v East (1-2) East cant keep the run they are going on. They will wake up this week and bring back some defensive steel. They wont let this go easy I doubt.
Limnos v Fulham (1-3) Fulham on a roll these past few weeks. Limos' defence is shyte, but they will jag one because of their quick strikers.
Farm v Macos (4 - 0) Macos wont complete at Farm. too good at home, will score 4 only if Torsten starts though.
Bosna v Vista (0 - 0) Boring game for the spectators. guys to be sent off from each side. Vista wont make their chances count and you have to down there.
Knights v Pumas (3 - 0) Knights once again too good at home. Pumas defence is crap and their forwards arent much better. Knights have a good outfit and will be much better off next year for the experience of a difficult div 2 this year.

no need to check as we did when we played them - all above board - they just signed up some new players and results are showing (except against us although we saved a penalty when it was 3-1 our way in the 2nd half which could have changed things).
