If a club is found out then I agree SAASL should come down hard.
Well I believe there is a club out there who has raised concerns with the SAASL in writing regarding another club playing a dual registered player and STILL there is no response.

And aldo, we will consider the case closed, when there is reasonable action taken. Until then it is an issue.

Yeah, because their rules and penalties are always black and white.

Examples include:

- Louis Brain returning from Victoria and playing for Metro in the finals and the confusion about his clearance
- Adelaide City vs ABE debacle in 2007
- Andrei Munoz suspension issue in 2006

I am not defending the SAASL (as our club has also been on the end of 'unfair' decisions), but if you think the FFSA is more transperent when it comes to rules and penalties, you are kidding yourselves.

Horto, I am just making the point that the FFSA also have their faults when it comes to making decisions.

Marooned is your club one of them which had dual registered players?

We do everything by the book. We had also been registered for GST for the last two years. Funny thing is we probably get more back now because of it.
We had a player transfer to a FFSA club for two games and we had him delisted and re registered before we could play him again. All by the book.
Im certainly not against development of soccer in this state. But to me development of our club is a priority and the FFSA set up is not beneficial AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

I know that Bill and Alex are all for unification of the leagues, but it must be of benefit of member clubs and that is what they try negotiate. They wont just throw in the towel, and I applaude them for that.

The SAASL certainly have alot to offer. The fact that there will be NO FEE increases for the next 5 years to 2013 (capped at 2008 costs) will secure alot of clubs, PURELY because the FFSA hasn't put such a plan in place. While what the FFSA has on offer appears to be attractive, the FFSA only have 'estimated' charges and fees etc and there is nothing concrete about what they truly have to offer - not even for season 2009. Any club in their right mind would not change direction if they didn't know where they were heading. I think this would be the ONLY issue preventing an SAASL club from crossing over.

Also the SAASL claims to be able to cross reference their database with the FFSA database to check on dual registrations. But what are they doing to prevent dual registrations in the first place? There were a few dual registered players this year and because the SAASL are not firm enough on their own regulations what is to stop clubs playing dual registered players? They certainly do not respond to official complaints as expected.

The SAASL are suggesting that they will look into holding the clubs responsible for inaccurate information at the time of registration. My questions are, firstly why should it be the clubs responsibility to check the ID of players and secondly if the clubs were to be held responsible, what would the consequences be for the club which deliberately submits incorrect information? From previous experience I would say that there will be no consequences. In the FFSA, there are penalties as there should be.

In my opinion it should be the responsibilty of the SAASL to verify the identities of potential players, and to seek a solution themselves rather than handballing it to the clubs.
intresting...

were there many club there ?

was it a good a turn out ?

The SAASL are pretending that they are not worried.

.....but the fact is they held a meeting regarding the issue. They look worried to me.
