under 14 to be difficult but any thing
can happen..
South beat East 1-0 in extra time.
South got lucky.. East were pretty much all over them the whole game. Missed atleast 3 chance which should have bin goals.
U14 Boys Player of the Tournament
Michael Mazzotta from North
Congratulations to the Under 13's North squad who defeated East this afternoon 1-0.
The kids had heaps of fun on the weekend, enjoyed their time together and played with lots of spirit.
We put no emphasis on winning and tried to take the pressure off right from the start. You are a great
bunch of lads. Good luck to you and your respective Clubs next year

Wouldn't say South were lucky....they were clearly the best team over the whole weekend only conceding one goal throughout the tournament (which was a dubious penalty). East had a gale force wind in the first half which they didn't take advantage of as the South defence (and goalie in particular) were too strong. After half time the wind died down and it became a fairly even game. South also had some good opportunities that they failed to put away until extra time.
Well done to they South boys who were a great bunch of lads (not a prima donna to be found). Their advantage was a great coach and assistant and an incredible team bond in a very short space of time. They listened to the coach and generally played to the team plan.

average tournemant compared to past years, too many average teams :? and attendance was low lot more fun last year, in relation to a spectators view point

Yes my brother was in the U12 West team and l watched every match and trimboli (trimas) was a great player. He needs to pass and not hog it around the pitch but a class player with some potential. Scored a hatrick against north which gave west a 3-3 draw. One of the goals was good, but the other 2 were the keepers fault. Otherwise a great player!

I was quite surprised myself with the winner of the U/12 player of the tournament. I felt it should have come from either of the 2 finalist teams in East or South.
I was told the referees chose this as where last year the coaches had to select a 3-2-1 from the opposing teams.
I think Trimboli may have topped the goalscorers list in which brought the attention to the referees but a midfielder (No15) in South caught my attention as well as our sweeper in the East squad was fantastic.

Yes trimboli scored 6 goals in 5 matches. That is probably one of the reasons that trimboli got the U12 player of the torurnament
