There have been a lot of complaints, suggestions etc. throughout 2008.
These meetings coming up may be an avenue to voice your (your Clubs) concerns and suggestions for 2009 and beyond.

Swansong - If your going there could you suggest someone to help BILL Bailey put the nets on the next cup final day, as the old fella was left to it.
Also, maybe purchase a step ladder as the plastic chair he was standing on looked unsafe.

Unfortunately to put your point across you need to attend, despite the fact your point is about being able to attend! So they probably won't get the point

I think they need to explore other marketing avenues. Beer! Its a niche market out there and the SAASL should at least subsidise cartons of piss for the clubs, so they profit more. Especially VB.
Secondly call ACE TV and organise a match of the round to be televised weekly.
....He's sick.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy she knows that he was going with this girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavours last night. Guess it's pretty serious

In regard to suggestions for the SAASL... like many other organizations, they do some things well and some things not so well. Unfortunately, because they invest very little resources in promoting the good things about the competition, they are suffering from an image problem. I see lots of great things week in week out at the games I go to (as well as some very poor behaviour by players and spectators) .... the competitive yet (generally) fair play approach by many players, some good banter from the sidelines and, importantly, players from both clubs getting together after the game for a drink and a chat.
The only time this positive stuff gets promoted is when swannsong does his fantastic photographic captures of match day.
I think the SAASL could improve its image a real lot by putting some money in to creating a position that promotes their product .... the clubs. Contract some people to go to matches and capture images much like swannsong has been doing. .. and maybe short video clips. Post match photos showing the good sportsmanship between the players of both clubs would be good. Put it on the SAASL web site. Let everyone outside the SAASL community see what a great community it is. Because they need to see it..... the negative stuff sticks unless you are proactive in promoting AND preserving the image of your product (companies devote lots of their time and money in portraying their image).
I also think that the League should be more proactive in helping clubs identify what is good about how they are run and what can be improved. The League should appoint Club Inspectors who will randomly visit clubs and do a full assessment of how they fulfil their operational duties. Referees get inspected and receive a comprehensive written report - why not Clubs. Constructve feedback is essential if you want any sort of improvement. The SAASL should obviously include club representatives in looking in to what should be part of a club inspection process.
So if these suggestions strike a chord with anyone on this forum suggest them to the League. I can't make it to any of the meetings and anyway I'm no longer associated with a particular club (haven't been for many many years).
