depends if you get wealthy Jewish bankers as board members

To delfino about Mardid match day $$
And in Spain they still have reasonable prices for tickets. E.g. A season ticket for Barcelona costs about 7 euros a game for the cheapest tickets  not bad for the quality of players they have on the pitch.

also a link to the financial statement of the year 25million pounds in the black last season, but with all the sales and things going on, it could well go the other way this year.
i just had a quick read over some of the stuff, and Wenger was definitely right in making the move. So many people have doubted it saying was it right, because it wouldn't let us compete with the big clubs, but that's all bs really.

At the end of the day we are going to make massive profits from the move weather Spuds and other champagne like it or not :P

 at least Lazio are doing one thing right
But you and me don't pay 50 pounds a week to win f'all for 3 years when nearly every expert could tell Wenger his squad was too young. Club belongs to the fans, not the dream/fantasy of the manager. If he can pull it off this year it really will be his crowning moment, otherwise we will be no more a flop than spurs.

yeah no shit, maybe if we have Theo up there in the last 5 minutes when we are 1-0 up we could see a sealer from him.

got ya, that's true 7 euros for seeing Henry, Messi, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta and co is fucken good value for money. We nearly pay that much to see Dodd and co

Yeah i see what you're saying, but for what he's trying to do, it needs times (in saying that it's been too long :( )
I think he's trying to save money by getting youngsters and making them into stars so then he doesn't have to go out and buy stars, which is fair enough, but the club needs success now and not in the future, when man citeh's money will probably buy players just as good as ours and we might not even win anything :(

fantastic win, played them off the park, played brilliant football and showed it on the scoreboard. Could've easily made it 7-0 but just didn't take all the other easy chances. Very good confidence booster for Sunderland game and it better show not to be complacent ever again 8)

took this from another forum and i totally agree with what he's saying
Arsenal have conceded 3 goals from set pieces this year, and 1 from a tremendous shot.

Of those three set pieces, all 3 have been from one players direct opponent.

That one player is our captain - William Gallas.

It's amazing looking at the goals how easily he lets himself be lost. Fucking useless defender at set pieces. Have a look at them and be amazed at his uselessness.

Just thought I'd mention it.

'We needed to respond quickly and as a team'

On the emphatic response to Saturday’s disappointment…
“It is what we expected. We did not concede a goal tonight and we scored four. Maybe we could have scored a few more but it was most important to win the game and respond quickly in a convincing way and that is what we did.

“I was tempted to make more than one change but I did not because I did not want to give the feeling that you punish one more than another. I believe sometimes you give the team the chance to respond quickly. I made one change and it was because [Samir] Nasri is a more natural left-sided wide-player than [Emmanuel] Eboue. The change was not to punish anybody I just believe we needed to respond quickly as a team.

“I think it was perhaps the most complete performance of the season.”

On forgetting Hull…
“That is down to your memory. I believe it is part of the learning process and maybe the fact that we had never played against Hull meant we experienced the difficulty when facing them. Maybe at 1-0 we thought it was done.”

On the attitude shown by his side…
“We were focused. I thought at times we were a little bit too tense, especially at the start of the game. But we were focused and at that level, whether it is the Premier League or the Champions League that is vital. I believe that on Saturday we were caught by a lack of focus.

“I think the team is maturing and there is big potential in the side. We want to be intelligent and in the end you measure that on how well we do together.”

On the performance of Cesc Fabregas…
“I think he was outstanding tonight. He was good defensively and offensively and overall it was the ‘complete performance’.”

On seeing his strikers doing the damage…
“Yes it was nice to see. Theo was dangerous again and he makes big progress and a big improvement. It was the response I wanted. It is half of the response of the week, the other half comes on Saturday [against Sunderland].

“No [Theo is not injured] it was a kick. I took him off because I was cautious but he could have stayed on.”

On remaining defensive concerns…
“Before Saturday we only conceded two goals and they were from corners in the League. On Saturday we conceded two goals too. I must say one of them was another corner but the other one was a goal that we have all scored but only once in our lives. We conceded a goal that you cannot do a lot about.

“I think away from home we have found a good balance defensively like at Blackburn and Bolton. At home we are not completely reassuring yet.

“I believe that the first time they caught us tonight was on the break from one of our corners. We were caught on the break, but that is maybe the only real time when we were lucky. The second time was on the corner when Clichy saved on the line. Those were the two times when they were dangerous tonight. Overall we were much more disciplined and focused on corners. The fight in the air was there.

On winning Group G…
“We know that we want to win our home games. We have taken a point in Kiev and we go to Fenerbahce to try to win the game like we always do.

“We expect to win the group.”

Not to mention Porto's defence was ridiculously bad.

Almunia - Porto win showed our true colours

By Chris Harris

Manuel Almunia believes that Arsenal showed their true colours in the Champions League victory over Porto.

The Spanish goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as the Portuguese champions were brushed aside at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night. Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor both netted twice as Arsène Wenger's side bounced back from their surprise Premier League defeat against Hull at the weekend.

Almunia was at the sharp end of that disappointment, conceding twice as Arsenal let a second-half lead slip on home soil. But the 31-year-old thinks that Saturday's shock has brought Wenger's players together and the win against Porto was evidence of that.

"It was crucial to have a clean sheet, have a victory like this and play fantastically like we did," said Almunia. "I think Arsène was furious before the Porto game and we said to ourselves that we had to play the Porto game as Arsenal know they can. We had to show we were a very great team.

"Maybe some players were tired [on Saturday] but Hull did very well. They are a strong team and we were surprised by them and I think Hull deserved the three points because our attitude wasn't very good during the game.

"But now we have togetherness, we are strong now, this is an important victory and it will give us more confidence. I hope at Sunderland we can show the strengths we have inside once again."
