In the amateur league which is what is the team I left, they got relegated that year with 1 (or was it 0) point.

since you left they have won 2 championships at state league level and the team that played in the amateur league was always going to struggle with the majority of players going on to the state league. any amateur side losing 20 players or more would not survive playing in div 1 or 2 but it looks like good times could be coming back for the comets after gaining promotion this season.
