Josef Fischer Goalkeeper gloves competition

Post by sportymorty »

I would like to run a monthly competition on this forum giving away a new pair of Josef Fischer GK gloves every month.

At this stage I'm not sure how the competition should run, so I will leave it up to everyone to come up with suggestions.

It doesn't have to be same throughout the year, it can also be 12 complete different competitions.

Any suggestions?

PS. the competition will most likely only be run on the "Local SA and A-League Football" board.

Have to agree with CB here... adidas fingersave gloves are probably the best all round gloves I have used. They seem to have better durability than most gloves. Have never used sells, but I am planning on bringing in a couple of pairs from UK next season, but will still keep my adidas gloves as first choice till then.

would have to disagree there. Sells would have to be the best that i have used, good grip on the ball, pretty durable and an all round better glove. While i havent tried the Josef Fischer gloves i have had mail they they do well... would be hard for me to change from Sells though.

I am not a goalkeeper myself, but all 4 goalkeepers Ben Moore (Adelaide City), Ben Godley (Metro Stars), Stuart Webster (Richmond FC) and Steve Tiloveski (Green Gully + goalkeeper of the year 2nd time in a row in Victoria) all used Sells before, but they all feel that the latex on the Josef Fischer goalkeeper gloves is a fraction better than compared to Sells. It's not me speaking, but the goalkeepers who are actually using them. All 4 goalkeepers are sponsored by Josef Fischer, but I think you will all agree that none of them would be using the gloves if they didn't think they were any good. Ben Moore actually didn't use his pair of gloves until the cup final against Metro Stars and as far as I'm concerned, using a new pair of gloves for the biggest game of the year tells you a little bit about the gloves.

I'm looking to play again next season. I've managed to secure a shift that should allow me to play saturdays. I could give you a Bodø rating then

Is that why you couldnt hold anything cup final CB the gloves were too quality

im not even going to get started on gloves this time around everyone has a different opinion. I will add one comment Adidas push the fingersave in Australia everywhere had them they have the adidas response pro which is 10 times better than the fingersave release its just what gets put on the shelves for most keepers as we all cant order from overseas

I'd say I prefer the fingersave gloves for training due to the increased workload on the mitts, But definitely prefer a regular soft foamed glove a la sells, Uhlsport etc during matches. Just feels like your more in control of the ball for mine.

sorry big ass you opened yourself up to this one
AT least i can hold my weight

Ive played in goals for well over 20 years in 1st grade had top of the line gloves sent over from aunts uncles mates etc. for grip durability fingersave and sells have always been good performers its been me that has let the gloves down on the odd occasion. If this guy wants to send me some free gloves no worries I'le give them a go but just because certain goalies use them is not going to persuade me. Proof is in the pudding

Josef Fischer gloves are terrific!
great grip, comfortable for the hand too!

Id say send pictures of something to do with a goalkeeper?
eg a action shot and the goalkeeper wearing JF gloves gets the gloves and the photographer should get something too
or maybe
save of the week?
with a video and or photo of a save a person wearing the JF gloves?

i bought a pair of sells at the the start of the season..... crap

i since bought 2 pairs of JF, can't be beaten.

Adidas fingersaves = crap. The worst technology in a glove, all the plastic in 3 pairs broke everyweek, until adidas gave me a refund. plus no proper feel for the ball.

not sure how to do it for a comp though, maybe a pen shootout between any keepers that keep clean sheets for that week?
