Under 16's
Playford 4-3 Campbelltown
Campbelltown struck early with the first goal from a corner. T'was the half-time score, 0-1 Campbelltown. Once again Campbelltown out of the blocks straight away with another goal, 0-2 Campbelltown. Playford fought back though with a great team constructed goal. And a mistake by Campbelltown's midfield gave Playford a 1 on 1 with the keeper, and scored. 2-2. With the momentum Playford looked more and more dangerous, and unbelievably took the lead through a magnificant strike from inside the D. Campbelltown dug deep and eventually, got rewarded with a penalty, which seemed quite an odd decision, as both Campbelltown striker and Playford keeper were going for the ball, and clashed. Penalty was comfortably put away, 3-3. Both teams were really going for the win, as they are with a draw from each other before kick off. Both clubs had their chances for the winning goal. Some good work from campbelltown gave them a cross which rolled infront of an open goal, but countn't be finished. Playford made a good play through the midfield, and with a quick switch of play, had a ball float over the top of the Campbelltown defence and let their forwards run on to it. Out came the keeper but was one second too late as Playford struck a 'last gasp' shot, which went just past the keeper as he could only turn and watch it roll in the back of the net. 4-3 Playford.
Excellent game, both teams. Well Done!
