Re: DIV 4 Disgrace WHAT ARE THE RULES
Are you sure it's just your fitness you had to get up?
Being dropped from reserves sounds like a very BIG drop to me and hence why I'm not convinced about the whole dropping thing. Don't you have a Div 2 team?

Re: DIV 4 Disgrace WHAT ARE THE RULES
Tsk, tsk, tsk Olympic. You guys deserve all of the shit you get. We had a newly formed team this year, in fact the first womens team at this club ever and you guys had to come out and thrash us 17-0 in our first game. Tell me again how you got such a big goal difference guys?!?
As for your trouble at the start of the season, who the hell played your first game?? I know for a fact that 13 out of the 15 girls recorded on the match card had TBA in their player registration number column. Couldn't decide which Div to play them in huh guys?!?
Modbury, we played you guys a few times and you were a good side. You deserve to be promoted because the Downs lost it towards the end of the season.
Olympic, lets see your side compete next season against the div 3 girls. Good luck because you are going to need it!

Tonyadams.. Olympic requested to be in div 3 at the start of the season but SAWSA did not allow them. The 17-0 tharshing was the first game of the season and the reason olympic had to fill in TBA was SAWSA had not given the rego cards yet.

Trippa why do you keep editing your posts? Paranoid that you are saying too much? I think its quite obvious that you have played reserves this year (if not higher).
Re: DIV 4 Disgrace WHAT ARE THE RULES
Well I am new to this forum, so I am grateful to this thread for drawing attention to a great football resource, but dissapointed that our teams name (Adeladie Olympic Div 4) has been dragged through the mud.
I agree with whoever said in this thread about not needing to defend innocence, but this is more for the fact that I am proud of our team and all the girls that played.
So here's just a few more points about our last game versus Modbury, to anyone that is intersted in learning another angle, and the bigger picture:
- I am the captain of the Div 4 side, and it was my first year back playing football in 6 years. I did not play either of the previous games against modbury, due to being a shift worker, and being roster on those days. I scored three goals in that last game, so I don't think you can compare our last meetings against this game as proof of cheating. Every week our team was different. (And i get names wrong all the time, who doesn't, especially when your all wearing the same and focussing on the game???)
- to the people posting from salisbury inter, I am sorry that we beat you by as much as we did (17-0). It was the first game of the season and we were all excited to be playing - especially the new girls (including myself), and we got carried away. But yes I agree it was unfair. Being from a club that has a premier and a reserves team, and then a div 4, when we were short players, we could get players from the reserves team. When you were short players, you had to source friends who were happy to give it a bash. I totally agree that this makes for an unfair and unbalanced competition, and we should not have been put in Div 4 - which is there for people just learning and starting out in our game, and with minimal resources to find better players. As said before, we asked to be put into Div 3, but we were not allowed by SAWSA. So please, do not blame us for that.
- being the first year of having 3 senior teams in our club, we were often short players, so always had a couple players coming down from reserves to play for us. Against modbury, we had 3 regular girls out. 1 who did not show up due to personal reasons, 1 who chose to run the 12km city to bay instead, and 1 who could not play due to participating in Rhamadad, a religious period where you cannot consume food or water during the hours between sunrise and sunset. These positions in the team were then given to girls who had played the most games for us previously. One had played for us 7 times previous, and 2 had played 4 times previous. No lesser player was dropped out of our team to make way for these girls.
- we scored 87 goals for the season, our top 3 goal scorers did not play any reserves games. We were Div 4 through and through.
- for another scope of how good our team really was, we took the pink panthers, the Div 2 premiers, to extra time, where they finally got us 1:0. As you would know, we had no reserves players at all playing for us as everyone was cup tied to there teams, so I think that in itself proves to the standard that we could play.
- We had our absolute best team on the day, no denying, so you can say it was stacked, and be slightly right, but it was stacked with players that belonged in the team, and there were no players dropped to make way for them. We played amazingly that day, our passing was fantastic, and we outplayed modbury. I feel that they had given up slightly after half time, and that also contributed to the blow out score, but also there were a couple flukey goals in there - 2 of my goals in fact - one that I wrong footed and the bounce outsmarted the goalie to dribble to the back of the net, another, which someone else stated was a skillfull header (in a parallel post) infact resulted in a fat lip, as my face, more so than head was what connected with it for it to go in! So yeah, not quite ready for prems, but hey, sometimes you get lucky, and we definitely had some of that in the game.
So there's the end of my soapbox, I'm disappointed with the judgements people have made about our team, and hope this helps to shine some light, but if you dont care about these points and would just prefer to remain grumpy and looking for someone to blame for your disappointments, then so be it. Everyone wants to win, but cant. Its a reality that the sooner you accept, the less bitter you may become.
