Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
I do not know but would imagine that that something is in the rules of the SAASL about playing while banned by another body. I know technically, if you are banned then you are banned worldwide BUT how does this affect an organisation not affiliated to the FFSA and therefore not FIFA.
I still beleive it would be in the by laws. If waht i have heard about this bloke is true, I'm suprised he only got 2 years anyway.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
Villa have a strong case, that if he was legitametly registered with the SAASL, then they cannot do anything to Villa.
If SAASL decide to take action and follow the FFSA ruling, then Villa, will protest that if they follow there rules, why don't they communicate with FFSA, and why where they allowed to register him in the first place. Seems like a legal loophole in the SAASL structure. Not suprising.
As previously stated, this is a "Can of Worms". Can't see Villa being penalised. If they did, and I was Villa, I would be protesting this one.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
Yeah, its a good point isn't it??
If FIFA doesn't recognise the SAASL, then why should the SAASL recognise or enforce suspensions imposed by bodies under FIFA?? Except for the simple reason that if they suspended someone for 2 years he's probably not the sort of bloke you want running around in your own competition.
But like you say Power04 if SAASL wanted to enforce these sorts of rules, they would need to communicate with FFSA and they obviously try not to do that too much, so aren't they really relying on some sort of honour system... "Sir, are you registered anywhere else?? Are you currently under suspension anywhere else??"
Even the FFSA doesn't require a clearance form to be completed if you're moving between a Amateur club and a Fed club... Interesting, very interesting

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
True, but your expecting the club to have known.
Can't penalise the club, if the player was dishonest. This may just be the catalyst for the SAASL and FFSA to come back to the table and talk. Can only see these incedents becoming more frequent.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
to true, the player could easily mislead the club also... If the SAASL had the wool pulled over their eyes its not a far stretch to believe the club was also kept in the dark by the player.
But again, it remains to be seen if there are actual rules in the SAASL by laws or whatever they call them prohibit playing a player suspended by another body, and if there are rules to this affect, then how does the SAASL going about proving the player isn't suspended etc if they don't communicate with the other various bodies who may have suspended him...
Man, ei'm even confusing myself

The kid is a top lad, he told me his version of the story regarding the incident, and from the interaction i have had with him, he has given me no reason not to take his word as gospel, and from what he said he was punished very harshly. Rather like when Greg Williams got 9 weeks for pushing the umpire a few years back. In this case it was his word against the referee and we all know how that will always end up.Dr.D wrote:Yeah, its a good point isn't it??

Just wanted to chime in with that because when its refered to as attacking an official it sounds much more malicious than what he tells me actually happened.
Not having a go at anyone either for describing it as that, they would be obviously just passing on what they have heard as am i.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
I know for a FACT that the club has been contacted by the SAASL and have not received punishment, they are not at fault at all here... rather the federation has allowed him to be registered... the player has been CORRECTLY registered with his full name and details re his driver's licence so the club cannot be punished for simply handing in his details, which I might add were cleared by the SAASL... so they can't blame the club for the federation clearing the player implying to them he is eligible to play....
and this is simply a side they beat a couple weeks back having a cry because the top2 and promotion to div2 are all but assured noe

Although, we're still waiting on clarification of the Adelaide Tigers registration debacle, so don't hold your breath.
as i said in the last post, his details sent to and cleared by the SAASL are his driver's licence details

I struggle to understand how a player from the federation could not have been known by anyone else at villa. I mean adelaide is a small place, surely someone would have recognised him.

he registered under a different name with the amateur league not his real name .the club can say that they had no idea about who he was but if no action is taken by the saasl then all clubs in the future can register whoever they want under false names and then say that they didnt know. the outcome of this will be very interesting.

do you honestly think salisbury didnt know come on guys very silly...players from villa whom are legit players and registered played with this player at his old club knew and knew him very well...
but in the end of it SAASL did not want affiliate with FFSA which is under FIFA then this player is fine to play in the leauge because its under a different federation. nothing to do with FFSA BAN... all in Salisbury deserve where they are with or without that player they are still by far the best team in the div( and im saying that from another club in that div)...

whatever happened to...
FAIR PLAY - FAIR CONDUCT ???
the SAASL need to get their shit together because they will loose control!
1. They need to sit down and put a system in place e.g. strict guide lines for clubs when they register a player. A strict screening proccess needs to be introduced to all clubs e.g. every club must request some form of proof and or Identification from every player before registering.
2. They need inspectors that actually enforce their codes of conduct/rules and regulations and these inspectors must spend the time out there (Sat & Sun) enforcing those rules and codes of conduct and conducting spot checks on clubs in the league.
if the SAASL dont flex their muscle (soon) and or spend a bit of their 1.5 million, not only will they loose control but also clubs!
The only clubs that you'll find in this league will be the likes of those running around with guns and meat heads wanting to brawl during games. We all know of 2 clubs that fit the above and have made headlines of recent
Good Luck SAASL... your going to need it

The name he is registered to the saasl is the name that appears on his drivers lisence and his birth certificate, so how can u say that he is registered under a name other than his real name.katse vreston wrote:he registered under a different name with the amateur league not his real name .the club can say that they had no idea about who he was but if no action is taken by the saasl then all clubs in the future can register whoever they want under false names and then say that they didnt know. the outcome of this will be very interesting.
If you are implying that the name that appears on ones drivers lesence and birth certificate is not ones real name, i, along with the majority of other forumites, will need to re register because we'd all be registered under false names!!!

From his track record, it sounds like he'll fit in perfectly at Villa. When are they due to next get banned/suspended from the league? It shouldn't be too far away.

I did that one year to play as an attacker in the Collegiate League on Saturday and as a goalkeeper in the SAASL on Sunday.
For two different clubs.

You obviously have not seen them play this year, if you had you would see that they are a well behaved bunch of lads and a quality squad to match. You are an idiot for even posting something of this sort. Grow up and recognise that times change. I understand they may have a reputation that isn't great but the club has moved on and so should you.The Toffees wrote:From his track record, it sounds like he'll fit in perfectly at Villa. To theboss & breakers17 - thankyou for your kind words. The club HAS moved in a different direction since new people have come in to help re-build our reputation - im the first to admit that 4-5 years ago, our reputation was not good, and perhaps, if was to be fair, it was probably deserved.Breakers17 wrote:I agree - Toffee pull your head in...theboss wrote:You obviously have not seen them play this year, if you had you would see that they are a well behaved bunch of lads and a quality squad to match. To the Toffee - It would appear to me that you represent a person who knows SWEET F*** ALL about the club or the guys that are involved there. We have NEVER been suspended or banned from the league so in future, get your facts correct. However, you ARE entitled to your opinion - even if it brushed aside - not unlike a piece of snot clinging to your sleeve after youve wiped your nose ....
Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
I was certainly under the impression that Salisbury Villa have been both suspended and banned in the past or was it just the refs that refused to cover your games. It shows how chinese whispers occur then.reggina wrote:We have NEVER been suspended or banned from the league so in future, get your facts correct.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
To my knowledge, Salisbury Villa has never been ejected from the SAASL and yes, referees did decline to officaiet in their games for a short period but all this was a long time ago. In my experience this season, Villa is a very well run and hospitable organisation and anyone who claims the contrary has NFI.
Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
As you said, "in my experience". Just about every club, someone has a story about. For the record: I don't believe any of our guys had any problems with them in the 2 meetings this season.Rob Lozza wrote:In my experience this season, Villa is a very well run and hospitable organisation and anyone who claims the contrary has NFI.
