The St jays Comp at salisbury has grown considerably this season with over 40 teams so Futsal will now be a recognised game in the Northern areas thanks to a lot of Elizabeth and Districts Juniors Clubs and to the EDJSA for supporting me in advertisng on their website. there are quite a good mixture of club teams from EDJSA this year and the competiition is now going over to sunday as well and having to disappoint a few late nominations but there just isnt enough space and time available.

The Gardens Open Men competition looks like a goer on the Sunday night aswell, but more teams are required so as to make it a better competition.

if anyone is interested in nominating a team send an email to Ray Grima mundu55@hotmail.com and he will send you all the details required and the form as well.

Isnt it great that E&D clubs are supporting a small sided game like futsal much better than having 22 - 8 year olds on an adult size pitch

Yes Rodney,
its exciting times for Futsal and the Northern players now have an opportunity to play this great game to learn more and sharpen their football skills in the offseason ready for the outdoor season.
There were 3 players from the St jays Competition selected to play for a state last year and Referees from EDRA are also getting opportunities and two of them went to the National Futsal Championships in Canberra in January this year which was a great experience for them too!

At this Stage there is only one Open Men Futsal competition under the Governing body FFSA ad Futsal SA and yes this is only on Sunday nights.
THe competition is going great for the first season and the teams are starting to get used to the rules which of course are the truest version of the outdoor game so there arent that many new rules to learn. They are also now getting more competitive and improving their game each week.
Last week we saw a good top of the table clash between Sam's Tailoring and Futsal Club the Union.
We may have another comp on another night one of these days but at this stage Sunday night it is.
Other Men competitions which go all year round are at the Magill Sports Centre on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday nights

If a lot of the existing junior players and their parents let them play during the winter even though they play outdoor then we will certainly look at Junior competition all year round.
It all depends on what day and night the courts are available as well
