Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
A big rumour has it that one of the top 3 sides has been playing a registered State League player, who was banned, under a false alias for weeks now. This could certainly affect both ends of the table should their results be expunged or the games in questioned overturned!
Although, we're still waiting on clarification of the Adelaide Tigers registration debacle, so don't hold your breath.

I heard the same, and I know the source and the clubs. But I think it is sour grapes, cause they got beat on the weekend.Kitchimo wrote:One that you've watched this season!! Even if it were the case, nothing will happen.
SAASL have shown that they dont care much if a club plays unregistered players - case in point - Adelaide Tigers.

The player was registered under his correct name by his div 3 club, which was verified by the saasl when presented with his drivers lisence & birth certificate. Both the div 3 club & saasl were unaware of his previous supension from the ffsa where he was registered under a different name.

Since when was this necessary for registering as a player. This makes a lot of sense now, as I heard the other day about a club getting away with something claiming the player had registered under a false name.nuffsed wrote:The player was registered under his correct name by his div 3 club, which was verified by the saasl when presented with his drivers lisence & birth certificate.

If there is evidence that cannot be disputed then the SAASL will take action. I know of at least one case this year where a Sunday team had won a game with a suspended player and following an investigation, the match result was reversed and the Club fined $300.crue head wrote:Even if it were the case, nothing will happen.

Regarding the Adelaide Tigers, therefore, you, me and/or others can post as much as you like on this forum but if no action has been taken, it is clearly due to a lack of evidence . Now who is responsible for that?
Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
When the issue was raised the license and birth certificate were presented to the saasl to prove no wrong doing by the div 3 club, because he had registered under his correct name as per those documents.Hawkesy wrote:Since when was this necessary for registering as a player. Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
I know of one case where they have taken action and one case where they have done nothing despite undeniable proof. Player's shirt number or name not on team sheet and then unable to provide the players card or any identification. Referee was witness to it all as well and was in his report. BUT like the R/B Eagles incident, the SAASL have swept it under the carpet because A) the state government give them a lot of money to help develop migrant teams, B) they are scared of looking racist C) Both A & B.Rob Lozza wrote:If there is evidence that cannot be disputed then the SAASL will take action. "Sour Grapes" indeed ... As far as the club is concerned they have done everything in the correct way. YOU LOST - GET OVER IT! Should also be mentioned that the player has not featured for the club since this came to light.

So it was Villa then, and not comets. That would make a lot more sense.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
It was said it was a top team, then it was said that it could be sour grapes because they lost at the weekend. I had originally said it was comets, i then changed that to it being villa because under the clues given it "made more sense" for it to be the winning villa rather than the losing comets.reggina wrote:Admission of guilt?

I don't think Bodo has seen Hahndorf this year, but we were pretty ordinary for the first half of the season.

Last season yes, this season no. There'd be more clubs I haven't seen than I have seen.bunsen honeydew wrote: I don't think Bodø has seen Hahndorf this year, but we were pretty ordinary for the first half of the season.

I see Hawksey is a good fisherman and detective as well as a player. He's almost nutted it all out.
Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
do you mean nutted it out, that Villa have played a bloke who was suspended for 2 years by the federation for attacking a referee.Power04 wrote:I see Hawksey is a good fisherman and detective as well as a player. He's almost nutted it all out.
It's a tough one, they have played a suspended player BUT if Villa side of the story holds water then they would be harshly punished if they received anything. The burden of proof would come down to whether the league believed Villa had knowingly done anything wrong.

Re: Rumour that will affect Saturday Division 3 to the core....
This might be a really dumb question, but if the "federation" refers to FFSA, and they've suspended this bloke for 2 years and SAASL have no affiliation with FFSA whatsoever, why do they or should they have to abide by the other bodies suspension???
I know this raises questions on moral and ethical standards of the SAASL, why would you want a player that attacked an official full stop..
But the question here is does the SAASL take any notice of FFSA suspensions etc, and if not then has anything wrong been done??

Legally i dont think they are obliged to as they aren't recognised by FIFA.
Anyone please feel free to correct if im wrong.
But i think this is a storm in a teacup.
