Junior Football restructure

Post by Arturo »

Does anybody know whether the rumored restructure of junior football will go ahead for 2007?

What will be the restructure in any case?

Apparently the junior league will be aligned with the senior ones..

So all super league juniors in the same league from Under 17 down

certainly hope it doesnt happen, the junior competition would be come a farce if it does happen. One of the best things the junior competition has is different clubs doing well in different age groups.

Yea that would be the disappointing thing about it if the leagues are alligned, clubs like panthers who have worked hard to establish their junior set up would lose their juniors who in some cases are exceptional to super league clubs like cumberland and galaxy who are close to them.

I think the Super League clubs are pushing for it.

There point is they pay higher affiliation fees than the premier and state league teams and it should follow the senior setup.

I can see both points.

U r only looking at one side of the coin, If it was a mass exodus 4 the teams that get relegated think about the teams that get promoted, a mass influx at trials.

In terms of both players and clubs does the term 'loyalty' come into it ?

(can of worms here  )

Absolutely Barney, can of worms!
How much will the bigger clubs spend in order to keep quality in the juniors?
Is this gonna be a case of only the strong survive?
Loyalty will be a thing of the past I think, for career players that is!
But on the other side, I think if all the best players start to congregate at these clubs, the quality of the game will get better!
I don't know, what would you prefer :?
