Rivaldo leaves AEK
what the?
apparently got an offer from uzbekistan that he couldnt refuse, to me that proves its all about the money to him, although being the age that he is, could u blame him looking for one last big fat paycheck? id love to hear the AEK fans opinion on this

I wonder if it is the same club that claimed they had signed Eto'o? I remember they made some announcement they had signed him for the ACL...
True its all about money. Feel sorry for burnsy who was partly motivated to join that club by the fact rivaldo was playing for them!

Two reasons 10m Euro for two seasons and he was not in the current AEK sides regular first 11 plans. Good on him.

Burns isnt doin well at the moment
he is a reserve for AEK but if he wants to play he has to be used against small fry clubs like Panthrakikos but even then Greek and Argentina top goal scorer Blanco and Brazilian Manduca are pretty good. But AEK got rid of three great strikers Liberopoulos, Mohammed Kallon and Rivaldo all in this pre-season. so they may intentionally use Burns as a starter against most teams or AEK is bugered because they are going broke

be real burns isnt good enough for that high standard. he just made it at a-league. he should be happy to be a sub and wait for injuries or when he doesnt get paid he will have a free transfer.
Re: Rivaldo leaves AEK
- Rivaldo was in first XI plans. He was offered captaincy this season. He left plain and simple for the money, €10m for 2 years. F*ck him he was a liability, playing 5 good games out of a 40 game season isnt good enough.
Some players come and go as gentlemen, he will forever at the opposite end of the scale. After last season he said he wanted to go back to Brazil, management changed his mind commiting himself to see out his contract then 5 days before a crucial European game and derby he leaves. Tosser.
- From all the preseason games ive seen Burns needs more adapting to do. His tactical and movement off the ball isnt up to the rest of the standard. The only good thing for him is the squad is light on wide attacking mids and he might get opportunities, but definately off the bench.

Saw him play last season, while he certainly has quality he is only good for 40 minutes or so now a days. Really only performed once or twice last season.
