INGLE FARM - CHOKERS...?

Post by Optimus Prime 07 »

With the squad they have this season, it was rightly suggested that Farmers should have had a real shake at the Sunday Div 1 title.

Now that they will not acheive that, could I suggest they have choked...?

Too many good players brought in to the squad, unable to keep all the boys happy... only 11 can take the field...

Rumour mill running hot suggesting many will not be there next season.....

Or perhaps the coach is on the chopping block...?

Discuss.... If you wish.

If you wish is a term often used after suggesting something...
It intimates that you don't need to repond, but you can if you so desire.
If you wish is a very commonly used phrase.

I wouldnt think that is a fair assumption. There is still 3 games left and they do have a very strong team, and club. They are only a small club and do very well to compete.

It has been a very close year I think in Div 1, compared to last year where there were only a few really stand out teams. This year results have gone both ways in many games.

To say they are chokers is very harsh. Who would have though westies to be doing as well as they have, last year vale struggled toward the end of the year. This year the downs struggles at the start, but are now finding some form. Its a good comp, with many good players, and strong clubs. No need to discuss the fact that things havnt gone well for them this year. And they are still sitting 3rd! thats a bloody good effort.
I think my drinking club has a soccer problem.....

2 years in div 1 , second last year and possible third this year, reserve cup winners possibly two years on the trot. if anything i would suggest they were punching above their weight. Well run and limitless potential. A great coach in Simmo and a great reserves coach Gravesy. A pres that works above and beyond what a pres should do.

Chokers ? Not in a million years.

We had steak sangers last night at the club and I choked on a bit so yeah, I'm a choker

We had aspirations to win the league this year and do well in the cup but it hasn't quite gone to plan. Only the 4th year we have ever been in Div 1 so to finish 2nd last year and possibly 3rd this year is a pretty good result.

Next year is a new year and who knows who will be where, that all comes in time. We gave the league a shake and I'd say most club except for two would rather be in our position than theres.

Port Power = Chokers    , Sorry Robbo :P

even the most obvious sarcasm can be difficult to grasp it seems ....
optimus , the point is , putting the worthiness of the original post into perspective by issuing a reply of similar value.
By doing as you asked i.e. discussing the term "If you wish", the writer is deliberately ridiculing the post because he thinks
it's subject matter is a load of muckraking bollocks (which it is btw) and not worth replying to in a sensible manner.
but then again , i could be wrong .....

Nope your dead right vertu1 however can i suggest breaking it down a little bit for our slightly retarded friend who is clearly cool enough to name his account after his Transformer pijamas his mum bought him at the start of the season!!!

However i choose to discuss:
Optimus perhaps its not a case of farm choking, more....... under achieving!! but when you think about it they never went into the season as the dead set favourites....
Vale: Always strong and have built a solid side over the past couple
West: a great bunch of young kids with speed and determination to be successful at the highest level on their minds
Pontians: flying high after promotion from div2 and looking to carry on form
Downs: can not forget they were reigning champs this season and they did nothing but bolster their squad with inclusions such as Aldridge........

in conclusion i think you will find that optimus is a twat and Farm have some thinking to do about how much they WANT the league!!

haha dead right mate 3rd is very far from choking and ingle farm has been a tough team to beat all year with a new rep, alot of desire and good players it wont be long before they could reach the top also i fully agree with the last comment

I don't think you can say Farm are chokers they are going to finish 3rd in the league the club hasn't been in Div.1 for very long so people expect too much too quick in my opinion...I think they would of learnt a lot this year about what is needed to win the league & it will happen very soon.

As far as the coach Simmo is the man do win the title there because he has so much respect from players & people around the club.
We are Liverpool Football Club and the expectations are so high.
