My Ladder 08/09:
1.Inter
2.Milan
3.Juve
4.Fiorentina
5.Roma
6.Lazio
7.Genoa
8.Napoli
9.Sampdoria
10.Palermo
11.Reggina
12.Atalanta
13.Udinese
14.Catania
15.Torino
16.Cagliari
17.Chievo
18.Siena
19.Bologna
20.Lecce
Inter to take the scudetto once again. If Milan can have an injury free season expect them to overtake Inter. Roma to slip into a UEFA Cup spot. Reggina have a much more stronger squad I don't see them battling relegation this season especially since how great the squad has been performing in preseason, with the quality players they have I expect the Amaranto to do such an impressive job this season. Udinese look like they will be the flop this season, they will struggle. The teams to go down for me are Siena, Bologna & Lecce.

McLaren will win the Constructors World Championship because I am the best driver ever to grace the Earth. The Drivers World Championship should be given to me on a silver platter there is no use racing these last 6 races the title is mine.

Re: Finalmente, si comincia...CALCIO 2008-09
Forza Cagliari,
they will stay up.
What a strong finish they had last season. Foggia to star for us and then leave to one of the big clubs as always happens.

19. Lecce
20. Cagliari
4th spot was very difficult for me to choose. I think Milan will just get there, only on the basis of the other teams perhaps not doing enough to take the spot, not because Milan will be too good for them. It will be very close from 4th-10th.
Capocannoniere: Ibrahimovic
Bidone d'Oro: Shevchenko or Julio Baptista
Rising Star: Balotelli and Giovinco certainly two to watch, as well as Cigarini and De Ceglie.
Best signings - Gilardino (Fiorentina), Cigarini (Atalanta, in terms of team status and who else were interested in him), Carrizo (Lazio) and Maggio (Napoli).
1st manager sacked - Surely Colatuono won't have that long if the start is not the best, despite having a totally new team that needs time to gel. De Biasi if Toro don't get their asses into gear.

A lot of strong sides in the league this season and I don't think Cagliari's mercato has been anything special.
Rather than criticise, let's see your predictions.

Re: Finalmente, si comincia...CALCIO 2008-09
fair enough.
I was born and bred in Sardegna. So Cagliari to survive the drop. I thought we were dead and buried last year but we laways manage to survive. As for Cellino. What a tossa!! He's gotta go.
Top 5 very hard to pick but here we go.
1 Juve
2 Inter
3 Milan
4 Roma
5 Fiorentina
as for the rest very tight and even. No predictions really for the drop zone as last year proved that anything can happen.
I dont think i can pick

not a problem Juventino.
I'm a big Juve fan also. Lots of us Sardi living in Torino you know.

btw mate, I like Cagliari and Lecce, i'd love to see them both survive, but just think they havent done enough to secure that yet.
Re: Finalmente, si comincia...CALCIO 2008-09
fair enough, you should always support your side, but 11th is extremely optimistic, especially ahead of Udinese, a team which missed CL football my a matter of points.Bianchi9Amaranto wrote:My Ladder 08/09:

Yeah, something doesn't seem too right about Udinese's squad. Asamoah, Dossena, Pinzi, Langella all gone. Who else have they brought in? They haven't had a good run in preseason either. About Reggina our squad is looking very strong and should be very competitive for this season, A couple more recruits are on the way. This Uruguayan trequartista we signed is looking classy Marcelo Capurro. Corradi is returning to his best.Il Duce wrote:fair enough, you should always support your side, but 11th is extremely optimistic, especially ahead of Udinese, a team which missed CL football my a matter of points.Bianchi9Amaranto wrote:My Ladder 08/09:

F*ck the Premier League maybe, f*ck the a-league, I can maybe see where you're coming from, but f*ck the champions league??? That's the best club competition of all, in the world. All the big teams are there.Il Duce wrote:finally, we can ring in il nuovo stagione di calcio 2008-09, how long we have all been waiting after the Euro debacle...f*ck the Premier League, f*ck the a-league, f*ck the Champions League, this is the real thing...the calcio thread per il campionato piu' bello del mondo

Pinzi and Asamoah played less than half of last season
Langella scored a few but they have Quagliarella, Floro Flores, Di Natale etc
they'll slide a couple of places, but not below 10th
I'm no professor but Reggina's side doesnt look like it can finish 11th
league champions get more respect from me than CL champions.

Yea, I just dont like it.. old European Cup was n excellent concept, but starting to get sick of the current CL, the football is top quality as always but lacks the passion that is found in the domestic leaguesMadridista612 wrote:F*ck the Premier League maybe, f*ck the a-league, I can maybe see where you're coming from, but f*ck the champions league??? Yeah I have faith they can do it, I can't see them finishing 18th or lower. A position of 13th-15th could be right. They have had a good preseason. Can't wait for this season, now I can stop watching EPL once and for all. I'll still check Everton though.Il Duce wrote:Pinzi and Asamoah played less than half of last season

A European League competition rather than a League/Cup competition would be pretty sweet I reckon, imagine the likes of Inter, Roma, Juventus, Milan, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool playing every 2 weeks or so in a league competition.Il Duce wrote:Pinzi and Asamoah played less than half of last season

Why would that kill football, apart from big clubs getting more revenue, potentially harming the little clubs, but really I couldn't give a rats about little clubs. They can go off and forge their own compeition.
