Finalmente, si comincia...CALCIO 2008-09

Post by Piola »

finally, we can ring in il nuovo stagione di calcio 2008-09, how long we have all been waiting after the Euro debacle...f*ck the Premier League, f*ck the a-league, f*ck the Champions League, this is the real thing...the calcio thread per il campionato piu' bello del mondo

we start with Coppa Italia ( )

and then move onto Serie A and B...

found this nice pic on another forum of all the teams in A
Image

my tips for tonight/domani's Coppa action

Genoa - Mantova
Palermo - Ravenna
Bologna - Vicenza
Ascoli - Bari
Siena - Albinoleffe
Cittadella - Empoli
Reggina - Grosseto
Cagliari - Triestina
Lazio - Benevento
Atalanta - Modena
Torino - Brescia
Crotone - Livorno
Lecce - Salernitana
Sassuolo - Reggiana
Catania - Parma (Parma to win on penalties, minor revenge for last season)
Chievo - Padova

I've tipped a couple of upsets

then its on to A
Atalanta - Siena Sun
Cagliari - Lazio Sun
Catania - Genoa Sun
Chievo - Reggina Sun
Fiorentina - Juve Sun
Milan - Bologna Sun
Roma - Napoli Sun
Sampdoria - Inter Sat
Torino - Lecce Sun
Udinese - Palermo Sat

what a wway to start the year, so many blockbusters, only bad thing is we'll get no coverage cause our match is possibly the least important there.

in like 2-3 days I'll make a massive prediction list, Campioni d'Italia, Europei, il retrocesso, capocannoniere, bidone and the surprise packets of the year.. but that will wait cause as Chievo showed yesterday, late days in the mercato can change a team's outlook

discuss :D

your map of italy seems a little incorrect

shouldnt you have Roma written above Lazio?

6 southerns teams vs the REST....seems highly unfair dont you think?

your quite correct. fcuk the epl and a-league.

cant wait for those goals to be registered in between the 80th-90th minute marks.

Drama at the San Siro as Lecce take a 2-0 lead inside the first 15 minutes!!

no one is on top of Lazio!!!!!!

just wishing I was on that ship to Cagliari with the boys in blue, some revenge for that humiliating loss to the 10-men who were bottom of the league last season.

Pasquale Foggia to score the winner!! I like Cagliari but this is calcio and in calcio there are no such things as friends. ISOLANI VAFFANCULO, OVUNQUE BIANCOBLU

Lazio off to the brightest of starts. 5-1 over Benevento, love it Naps!!! Commendable scoreline considering we had no defensive midfielders available.

Fuck I wish the season started last night. Would be good for the national team as well for the players to have a couple of rounds under their belts before the qualifiers.

Nah it is not to do with Rai, rather the deal the team has with Sky. If they are exclusive to Sky then Rai can't do anything about it.

nah they had no deal at all, not even in Italy I dont think

De Laurentiis sold no TV rights, cause he thought Napoli deserve more $$ considering how popular they are

Hmmm interesting, because whenever I saw highlights of Napoli on the net, it was Sky with Fabio Caressa commentary.

Yea I saw Napoli highlights on SKY TG24 when I went over too but there was some rights they didnt sell with regard to home games.

Maybe that was mediaset live broadcast. In Italy all games can be watched pay per view in HD live if you have a certain satellite connection.

sticking the head on chopping block now...

1. Inter
2. Juve
3. Roma
4. Fiorentina
5. Milan
6. Lazio
7. Napoli
8. Genoa
9. Sampdoria
10. Udinese
11. Atalanta
12. Palermo
13. Bologna
14. Catania
15. Siena
16. Torino
17. Chievo
18. Reggina
19. Cagliari
20. Lecce

Capocannoniere: Ibrahimovic (Inter) - he'll join Kaka and Messi as the world's best this season if he can stay injury free

Bidone d'Oro: Assuming Adriano comes good I reckon it'll be Shevchenko for Milan.

Rising Star: If they gets the chance - Balotelli and Giovinco.

Best signings - Carrizo (Lazio) and Denis (Napoli)

1st manager sacked - If Lazio or Napoli gioca di merda from the start then it'll be Rossi or Reja. Otherwise, Zampa will have his finger on the button and get rid of Colantuono first.

**my predicited classifica can be changed if there are any major mercato moves 8)

you have done your homework.

very very accurate ladder beginning of season.

i think milan will finish higher AND with cagliari's home form they should stay up but only by the skin of their teeth as per last season

catania??? I know you hate them for some reason, but they've had a quality mercato for the lower clubs.

unless Polito f*cks up too much, they should be right.
