Best Goal or Funniest moment

Post by redsfan20 »

This week has been a slow news week here on footy news so I thought we could all post the best goal we've seen on our amateur fields or the funniest thing you've seen on the pitch.
In our reserve grade game against West Beach Super sub goalkeeper "Diego Armando" scored a goal with a hand of god style "header". Despite fessing up to the ref that the ball struck his hand the goal was allowed to stand. Classic stuff!!
What have you got lads??

 I recall playing a very tough game away to the maroochydore sc (at the time they were the steamers :) ) but it was 1-1 and we had about 10 minutes to play when one of the opposition players went down and was hurt  (keeping in mind they had already used there 3 substitutions :? ). The player went off the field and received what we thought was treatment :D (little did we know he was swapping shirt with ne of the supporters who had played the previous game  ). The "player" was allowed back on and scored two goals ( :| solo efforts :x ) and we lost 2-1 :!: . After the game the opposition admitted to the referee what they had done over a beer in the bar but the ref did nothing and laughed it off as if it was a joke :!:

 Guess i should have said something during the game :?:

How did you score two goals at 1-1 and win 2-1?

Reserves game Para Hills East vs Parafield Gardens last season at Para Hills East home ground, Gradens had just taken a 2-1 lead early in the first half. then an equaliser that can only be described as 'a goal sent from the gods' scored with in seconds of the kick off.

anyone that was at the game or played in it must surely remember, it's been described by pundits as one of the best amateur league goals ever scored.

nuff sed!!

A number of years ago whilst watching our ressies play we were sitting behind the goals talking to our ressies goal keeper who had a night on the juice he asked us if we had a chewy which we threw to him and whilst bending down to pick it up we were in hysterics to see the opposition put the ball in the back of the net, luckily only a trial game

Hmm reds fan 08 might remember going to collect his water bottle in a friendly early in the season from inside the goal. When he looked around he saw an attacking player hurtling towards him with the ball at his feet.

The first law of goal keeper school is stand in the middle of the goal (enough said)

Maybe there is some topics that one should not start.

Bearing in mind he has been awesome for the rest of the year.

i think most Vista guys remember my "stunning" volley against Plympton last year, 35 yards out never looked like missing........then followed 10 seconds later by the funniest moment to when celebrating tripped and went a.rse up in the mud
You go on the p*ss all day, you've ballooned out like the Pillsbury Doughboy!
You could go to jail for this! What sort of system am I going to play then? Three across the middle and one in bloody Pentonville? *Mike Basset*

I remember playing in a game against a team of particularly hotheaded individuals and being part of a few players winding them up couldn't stop laughing myself when one of them missed their tenth sitter and one of our players, through laughter, shouted "That's never you missed AGAIN is it????"

I remember playing with a full back who was a student who also used to go to his Uni library on a Friday afternoon and learn all the swear words in the native countries of our opposition for the Sunday. Then he would teach us all of them at training on Friday night.

Also rememebr some lowlife slapping the ref when he got sent off but laughed when the ref slapped him back harder!

playing in England against Blantyre House (a prison side), about 3/400 hundred convicts on the line watching. if the players get booked then they lose their benefits. 90th minute score at 1-1 my mate is brought down for a penalty, bit of handbags to which he responds "now be a good little boy, or lights out will be half an hour early for you tonight". He slammed home the penalty, cupped his ear to the all convicts and shouts "roast beef, a pint and shagging the wife, what are you lot doing tonight?".

Best goal: Mine last week.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

Hey remember it well, still haunted by it. Loose ball drops inside our half (just). You are facing our goal and go in for a crunching tackle, Fulham player pulls out of challenge (some softc..k).

You connected superbly with me off my line and can do little as it dips under the bar. Hats off to you for that cracker.

I didn't know which one of the two of us was the most embarrassed.

I think i was laughing as it was inside the first 5 minutes of the game and there really was nothing either of us could do. Great times

Years ago (it would have to be  ) I was playing in goal and there was a really strong gale blowing.
I threw a ball toward our left winger, the wind just picked up the ball like a kite and it went out for
a throw in on the right hand side of the pitch near the corner flag !

Theres 2 I can recall

Inter VS Vale (At the Vale) - A few years ago now! The Best hatrick you will see by a centre half!! Noel Flounders from Centre half had Inter 2 nil up after half an hour 2 nice goals (Up at Corners and free kicks) his 3rd for the hatrick was the best for some unknown reason whilst defending an attack from the Vale he turned and hit a volley from at least 20 yards out and put it into the top corner....Of our goals!! 2-1 at Half time and Noel Flounders scored all 3!

Over 35s This year
Eliz Downs VS Modbury
Chris Saunders playing sweeper (For the Downs) on the top pitch gale force wind Modburys Keeper kicked long we all were running back as the ball was going over our heads he stuck out a leg (On his own 18yrd line) hit it on the full and it wrong footed the Downs Keeper and scored a nice own goal!!

Not as funny as watching him practising volleys from the top of the box at training tonight and not getting any near the target!

By the way Azz it wasn't that funny......... :)

Four years ago at a game with East Side Jets. They were playing the side who use to play at Gepps Cross High School (can't remember their name... Turkish side I think). This Turkish forward has his back to goal about three metres out of the Jets penalty area (near a corner of the penalty area). He receives a long ball from his sweeper, chests it upwards so that the ball is hanging at around head height, turns slightly sideways, and does a side on bicycle kick (connecting with the ball at head height) and the ball flies in to the top corner of the goal. It flew in to the opposite corner of where he was, so the ball actually went across the goalkeeper who didn't move an inch. At the time was a Div 5 or maybe Div 6 game ... would be lucky to see this sort of goal in a world class competition.
