SA SCHOOLGIRLS OF TO PORT MACQUARIE
Good luck to the 16 girls representing SA in the Australian Secondary Schools Football Championships to be held at Port Macquarie over the next week.
I believe we have had a couple of girls selected in the Australian team in the past 2 years.
Here's hoping we can keep up the strike rate.

Re: SA SCHOOLGIRLS OF TO PORT MACQUARIE
the results i dont think say much...
trimboli had a young (probably) inexperienced squad there but she had them playing the best possession which would make many premier league teams look pretty average!!
GOODLUCK TO THE GIRLS....

Well have it on good authority that a hat trick was scored by Cassie Tsoumbris from Para Hills playing in centre midfield.....not too sure bout the other 3 though.....BillShankly wrote:Game 4

Shorty - The results show you where you are compared to other teams, and from this we can see we are in front of NT by a long way [as we all would hope] on par with WA, Vic, ACT and Qlds [3 goals in 5 minutes at the end of a game looks worse than it really is] but are still some way behind NSW.shorty wrote:the results i dont think say much...

Now before you all start on me about how many more players they [NSW] have to choose from etc etc, so has Victoria and we got close to them. Maybe we need more than just a few games a year to really see where we are in the scheme of things?
Is our SASI program equivalent to those in other states? What are they doing differently to us, are their club programs any different?

Just wanted to say that I moved from NSW when the league was really just kicking off in terms of women soccer........has to have been about 8 years ago..........boy that makes me feel old........anyway.........since coming here..........I've noticed that this state was behind in terms of women soccer..........so we are on track..........just hard to compare each other when one has been established for longer......good work by our girls though.........I second your idea Shorty.......Cassie is destined for great things with her skill & dedication to the sport.........she inspires all those around her with her passion & determination.......
Re: SA SCHOOLGIRLS OF TO PORT MACQUARIE
how does every single topic turn into whether we r up to the same standard as the other states. cld one topic jst be about wat it says up the top.
for everyones info....cassie got picked in the shadow squad :D she had a gr8 week
we played better than i thought we were goin to. we werent an attackingly strong team, having difficulty scoring goals in trial matches as well.
QLD shld never have beaten us by 3 goals, sure they were the better team, but we held them off extremely well for the most part, and attacked them a fair few times as well. unfortunatly we dropped our heads after the 1st goal, making it hard to stop the next two.
NSW were clearly the better team. but we also managed to attack them a few times and held off many other scoring opportunities.
mention to our GK we wld have been lost without her. she had an amazing week. ive never seen her play so well. amazing saves, blood nose in the first 10mins of the first game (ref didnt see tho haha) always putting her body on the line. encouragin, lost her voice by the end of the week. she shld have made the shadow squad at least.
have to thank all the girls for a gr8 trip.
