Re: results 27th july
I think it is well known that Easties have struggled with their playing personnel this year. Lost some good players at the end of last year, Farm have picked up some good players. On paper this should have been a walk over to Farm but the game is not played on paper.
It is a great result for East to get a point, they did well to get the point. There probably would have been some bad blood from the first game so that would explain some of the comments made.
Fair to say that the players at East have a lot of heart even if it is not the best side running around in Sunday Div 1. Anyside that takes any of the sides lightly or does not finish their chances will regret it later.

Re: results 27th july
At this time of the season every year, those teams worth their salt are gonna fight n scrap for everything to stay in their div. Me thinks some Farmers are crying over recent missed opportunities to win the league. The other reason teams like the farm are good to beat is the payment issue. Are any of us at the East getting paid?? Hell no. How many Farmer's aren't playing for the dosh?? 3 pts would've been great but denting the farm's title hopes and us getting a point was a good return for us yesterday.

....He's sick.

Just a few points regarding the game yesterday. First of all I agree the referee was terrible. He lost the plot with a lot of things, in particular letting players back on the park and letting trainers onto the park. The reports that have been given so far have been fairly biased IMO. Farm outplayed us and to be honest we were lucky to get a point. Having said that we worked our bollocks of to get the point. The quick free kick was disallowed because the referee told us (PHE players in the wall) that it was on his whistle. What he told the farm boys I dont know but thats what he said to us. Whether it was right or wrong thats why the goal wasnt allowed.
But to come on here and say that our boys only resorted to dirty tactics and dont deserve to be in the first division is a load of shite. It was a pretty physical game and players got booked when it was warranted. There were things from both sides that were let go, not just ours. To say we played defensively is a fair call, but when you spend most of the first half of the season conceding 4-5 goals all the time, I think its pretty fair to focus on keeping a clean sheet. Or should we try and blast our way to 6-4 victories??? IMO our boys played well, dug deep and rode our luck to snatch a point from one of the better sides going around. Everyone coming on here sulking about things that happened during the game just makes it appear as though its sour grapes because you didnt get the result you thought you would.

Have to say East were totally outplayed and lucky to get a draw. Ref was a shambles and cost farm the game and made some bad calls easts way also. East constantly time wasted for whole second half and rarely showed an endevour to win rather than take a draw. Handy point for east but I feel they are going to go down if they keep chasing 1 point rather than 3 at their own home ground. Thought the east sweepers outburst straight after the game was in poor taste and would hope that was out of character for him. Farm players playing for dosh is a stupid comment. Plenty more available at other clubs.

Outburst at the end of the game was only a reaction to what all the Farm boys said to us earlier in the season, seems to me people have short memories & yesterday it came back to bight them in the arse. To say we go out for a draw every game is just silly, when you are playing one of the most talented sides in the comp what else are you supposed to do, just lay down & give them the 3 points? To say we don't deserve to be in the 1st Div is a joke, we are one of the most successful clubs in the Amateur League. Bad luck to Farm because i doubt you ever will be! The coach's outburst i can't condone but i can understand why he did it, maybe he could of chosen his words more carefully, he just loves the club & is sick of bad no terrible referee's. We aint down yet!!!!!

reputation doesn't get you or keep you in the first division, no matter how successful you have been that doesn't mean anything when it comes to your 2008 squad.

sometimes better to go down, regroup and come back stronger. didnt east and gardens do it previously?

Bodo, I have to agree, there is no way that any ref should be spoken to in the way the ref was in the b's at the san marco v para game. however, i also think the ref from that game should have a hard look at himself. when a bloke gets their back leg taken out from a sliding defender and gets books because the ref tells him he dived because 'he fell a yard after the defender' is kidding himself. There were numerous other decisions in that game where the ref was being laughed at by his clubs own players.
And, not to forget, the ref in that game went into the changerooms prior to kickoff to tell both teams he was an official ref... lets be serious, that was not the standard of an official. My understanding is the assoc had not appointed him for that match and as such should not have been wearing the ref uniform, but should have had the 'club official' vest.
I think the game would have been much closer had the ref been neutral. i don't want to take anything away from San Marco, they put together some really good passing and finished with style a couple of times. at the end of the day, you still have to take your chances and put a team away and they certainly did that. well done to the san marco boys.

To right TA. Was a massive kick in the guts to go down last year but Inter will fair alot stronger in Div 1 next season.tonyadams wrote:agreed.redfred wrote:3 Quid and Penny Farthing wrote:reputation doesn't get you or keep you in the first division, no matter how successful you have been that doesn't mean anything when it comes to your 2008 squad.

Re: results 27th july
Well what an interesting day yesterday was. Yes we dominated play, yes we could of scored 10, yes we had a ball bounce over the goal line and not get awarded, yes we were disallowed a free kick which we scored from, yes our keeper had to make one save and yes; we drew the gam nil all. The pleasing thing for us was our build up of play was fantastic. Easts couldn't get the ball for long periods and then couldn't hold it when we turned it over. Outside of not scoring, I couldn't fault a single player of ours yesterday. We were guttered not to get the win which most would agree we deserved but if you dont score, you cant win. It certainly makes it very difficult for us to win the league this year but we are certainly not out of it.
As for East, credit to them for getting a point. They battled, kicked, wasted time and didn't everything to get something out of the game. When your bottom you have to do those sort of things and there plan was to get at least a point which they did. I think Kirky went down injuried more times than he dove to save a ball. Alex again played well and as previously said, Ricky and East Boy had a good battle.
As for the ref, I felt for him a little bit as East did everything to slow the game down and certainly were giving the niggle. Games like that are hard to ref when players aren't playing by the spirit of the game. I dont have a problem with the way East went about it but you can hardly have a go at the ref when your committing a foul every 30 seconds. Why the East coach went off the way he did is beyond me because the reality is, we were the ones getting kicked. One player was booked twice and not sent off (Poll Style) and Number 7 should of gone for a second yellow. I think you'll find that the East coach is in a lot of trouble which is really sad because he is very well respected in the league.
Probably the most disappointing thing about the day was the comments made after the game by the East Sweeper. Say what you want during the game but afterwards, it just wasn't need and was one of the reasons a few of our guys didn't head back into your club room. Call it sour grapes or call it not been respected, I doubt you care. I spoke to one of our former players who told me a story about a few years ago when East needed us to beat Inter to help them win the league. They promised us a carton of beer if we did and that was all the boys needed to knock off the top team on the last day and let Easties win the league. Appartently quite a few from the Farm went up to Easts to celebrate them winning the leauge. He was pretty upset with what was said and refused to go in after the game, the first game he hasn't done so all season; win lose or draw.
As for comments made when we last played you guys, I don't know of any and would appreciate someone from East PM me what was said and to who. I know you were upset with Farmer Joe celebrating when he scored but as far as I knew, that was the only issue.
I do find it funny that East are the only team that think we spend the dosh. I'll give you some facts. Last year was the first season that our club paid players. This was due to a sponsor kicking in the money for it. Our payments are $10 for each training session, $20 for a win and $10 for a draw. So if you have trained twice and win, you get $40. Hardly big $$$$. This season we don't have that sponsor and the committee have worked hard to keep playing players the same as last season. How do I know all this, well I'm the one who hands the money over to the players. If you don't believe me East Boy, have a chat to Monkey Boy who was down a few weeks ago on a Thursday night (till 4am to be exact) and saw me paying the guys.
One final note of defence, only Shaken Not Stirred is involved at our club. I think you will find the others who have critised East aren't from the Farm but rather people who came to watch the game. I know who two of them are and they are involved in with two different clubs. So no, we aren't having a whinge about yesterdays result, people are simply giving an opinion on how they thought you guys went.
All said and done, it was another tight tussle and it was 2 points that got away from us. Always love playing against Easties but I really can't see them staying up cause you can't dodge that many bullets for the rest of year. Good luck though as we need these local derbys.
Great win by the Ressies yesterday to. Got themselves out of a very tight spot to win 2-1. Much like the first team, dominated play but just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. club ref wasn't to bad either from what I've seen.

I haven't caught up with the keeper yet mate, but I am sure that he will be okay. He didn't look crash hot when they took him off, but I am guessing it was a bit of concussion and a bit of claret coming out of his mouth but hopefully nothing too serious.BADA BING wrote:Bodo and the Bucket on the incident in the B’s I was actually playing but at the time but I was blinded by the tackle and yes I will say a couple of our own players thought it was a penalty, however the way the player who got sent off reacted was an absolute disgrace, you cant call a referee a FUC**EN CHEATING C&NT and not expect to get sent off, I have been playing football for a long time and trust me I haven’t seen to many away team’s receive penalties in the B’s. BTW I hope your B team takes out the title, the deserve it.
In regards to the offside in the A’s I spoke to our linesman after the game and he said it was offside, not sure what you were watching but his flag went up as soon as the cross went in, he did mention that by the time the player headed the ball in our sweeper had dropped back in line with you attacker, anyway I can only give my side of the story from what he has told me, The Bucket how is your goalkeeper from the A’s anyway?
If that is what the player in the B's said well he got what he deserved. He is a good bloke but certainly a criticism would have to be that at times he needs to control his emotions and hold his opinions closer to his chest. There is no excuse for using that sort of language towards an official. Full stop.
Anyway mate I don't want to harp on about it all because as mentioned you guys deserved the wins and I don't want to make it sound anything to the contrary.

Hey Right Winger you forgot to mention how many yellow cards your team got. I don't remember was it 3 or 4 ? Your first yellow 5 minutes into game.

Please, please, please dont tell me and the forum that

Please!
Remember, your 'credibility' is at stake.

I think you'll find that the gaffer going off didnt have anything to do with any decision as we had a free kick. It was the fact that we had a player down injured from a pretty strong challenge and the referee was more worried about what other players were doing then getting a trainer onto the ground to attend to the player. I would assume that if the referee wanted to hand out cards or have words, that could probably wait until the trainer had been waved on when someone is injured. The referee, instead of realising this then bolted over to our coach (still without waving the trainer on) and was more worried about getting in his face and yelling than getting someone on the ground. As strappin said his words/actions cant be condoned but if the referee had his head half screwed on I doubt that it would have escalated that far.Jay Walking wrote:Well what an interesting day yesterday was. I am still amazed that you guys think you were so harshly done by as far as tackles etc go. There were some strong tackles from both sides and those that were over the top got booked accordingly. I can think of probably 4-5 instances at least where you guys should/could have been booked but no card came out....big deal sh*t happens. He was terrible both ways. And the tackles were just as fierce........BOTH WAYS. I am interested to know who the player was that got booked twice and didnt get sent off because I cant remember thinking sh*t he's already got one? The time wasting should be a non issue....I haven't read the rule book cover to cover but I'm sure there is something in there about extra time at the end for time lost during the game? I think its pretty harsh to accuse a whole side of not playing within the spirit of the game. I honestly doubt there would have been this much debate if you guys had won the game 3-0.
About the money thing, I only think there has been one comment on that, that I have read. I personally know a few of the boys that are playing at the farm and I know they're not there for money. Except of course Dunty, we all know he's on $300 a game
Finally for the words said after the game....in an ideal world, after a game like that you shake hands with the opposition wish them the best for the year and go in for a beer. Things sometimes get said in the heat of the moment that shouldn't - that was probably one of them. Cheers to the lads that did come in for a beer. All the best to you guys for the rest of the season.

'Credibility' is hardly a word I thought would have been in the english vocubulary of the team we played against on Sunday.Right Winger wrote: awwwwww, c'mon.
Please, please, please dont tell me and the forum that
Pumas lost because of 3 or 4 yellow cards.
Please!
Remember, your 'credibility' is at stake.
The ball of ridicule is in your court.
My count of the yellow cards for fowls was closer to 5 or 6.
So typical of a Adelaide Croatia game: kicking, scratching and verbal unsportsmanship.
The ref didnt help his own cause. His control over procedings showed that if he were in charge of a country, he probably would have been overthrown by a coop.
Sorry about my spelling, have got some comical quotes from the day dominating my memories.
Best of luck in Div 3 next year, Right Winger and the 'ridicule' that demotion deserves.
