Hi there,
Im needing some help and guidance! We're new to adelaide and Im trying to find a good soccer club for my son to try out for next season. Does anyone know when the various premier league clubs will be having their junior tryouts for 2009 season? Thank you!!

To answer your question - they are usually held during the second half of September and early October. This season does not finish until 14 September 2008, so trials will be held shortly after that.Neva Assume wrote:Hi there,

The FFSA Junior pages usually lists the trial dates as they are announced by the clubs
http://www.ffsa.com.au/default_junior.a ... archive=no
Every club will tell you how committed they are to junior development blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately in many a cases the hype is usually somewhat removed from reality.
Perhaps a good idea would be to go and watch a few of the remaining games at local clubs in your son's current age group to get some idea of the standard of coaching and skills levels. All the fixtures are listed on the FFSA web site.

Re: 2009 JPL Tryouts?
Thank you all so very much for your information and tips! Will do wot you've suggested. Ive heard some very good things already about a few of the teams, especially the up and coming ones like raiders and northern demons (altho thats a lil far away). Will mosey along and watch some of the junior games to get a good feel. Thanks again!
Re: 2009 JPL Tryouts?
How old is your son? Clubs from under 12 and over are from now on having no trials and will chose teams from the current players they have. The clubs can advertise for a player if needed.

FFSA has decided. > if u check what Mozza#14 actually said it It says "12's and up" so there will be trials, just none from under 12's and up.SILENT P wrote:Who has decided that there will not be tryouts at clubs?

I understood what Mozza #14 has written but I just don't understand. How can the FFSA dictate to the clubs if trials are allowed or not?Montanha|Campeo wrote:FFSA has decided. > if u check what Mozza#14 actually said it It says "12's and up" so there will be trials, just none from under 12's and up.SILENT P wrote:Who has decided that there will not be tryouts at clubs?
I bet the clubs will be fighting this issue

Spoke to our Junior delegate this evening and they have no idea what you are talking about.
The original poster came on to this forum genuinely seeking information and all they get is you talking out of your arse, spreading rumours without any substantiation.
Very helpful - not.

Re: 2009 JPL Tryouts?
this mozza kid plays for Campbelltown U12's. They won't be having any trials...the coach poached all his players from the East zone side he was in charge of at last year's zone carnival. Why would they need anyone else?

How do new players join clubs without trials?
How does a coach find his best 15 players without trials?
That's what I'd like to know.
