A - Asteras 3 El Salvador 0
B - Asteras 3 El Salvador 0 (forfeit).

El Salvador arent that bad (as bad as the ladder suggests) when their players only play one game, a couple of decent players. Prolly deserved a goal at least.
But bear in mind we also had 7/8 players unavailable.

Sunday Div 3
B's - Adelaide Vikings 4 v San Marco 3
A's - Adelaide Vikings 8 v San Marco 3

Didnt see too much of the reserves game today but believe we won it with one of the last kicks of the day. Well done to the boys thats 9 wins in a row.
The A grade started really well scoring after only 5 minutes and we continued to play well for the first 25/30 mins, we scored another in that period also. 2-0 and cruising when one of our midfielders had to be subbed due to an injury and then 15 mins of lapsed concentration saw San Marco play good football and score 3 goals in that time to lead 3-2 at HT. Going into the break heads down but we had the strong breeze in the 2nd half, a few stern words at half time, lifted the players beliefs and WOW what a second half. 6 goals in fact, with a goal of the year contender for one of them. An amazing game were we played well for 70 mins but nearly lost it in a crazy 15min. Look forward to the week off, the lads deserve it.

Thats because I came on at halftime

Great game and result for the First Team - Vista looked better than when we first played them but after a poor game last week we rose to the challenge

Pontian 3 vs East 3

Probably the most disappointing game I've ever played in. Definately 2 points thrown away. After the game I was that angry I just couldn't realise how well we played. Since cooling off I realised that the effort from the boys today and the way that we played was great. Thought Ryan had a belter. To me it feels as bad if not worse than a loss. We just keep finding ways to drop points. The week off will allow some battered bodies to recouperate. Hopefully we can get a result against Farm and get reward for our efforts.

Haha I also came on at half time. Conditions very difficult today for all with the state of our pitch now and also the wind.

Mate that statement is the stupidest thing i have ever heard in my life. How else do you expect kids of today to keep this great game we call football going, by WATCHING and wanting to play it.

Perhaps you can explain to my eight year daughter why it is YOUR COACH wanted to kill the Raptors stopper. Seriously mate i was standing right behind your linesman to see how much he was cheating by whilst these verbal obscenities were dished out. As a father I took my kids away from this filth and had to calm the poor thing down as she was distraught and worried that someone was going to die!!

As for the Raptors i can assure you I have no affiliation with them what so ever, but I have been going to a few of their games of late as I only live down the road.

the raptors have enjoyed some titanic tussles with croatia over the years. no -one questions their ball playing abilities nor their physical attributes (even their shortest player was a giant :D).

however, their senior players are very good at inimidating both the opposotion players and officials. the amount of behind the play and late infingements by the croation team in todays game was typical.

if thats the way you play.....thats fine, just dont sook when you have players sent off or youre put on good behaviour bonds by the league!!!!!!!

-GREAT DAY OUT FOR FLORINA, 3 WINS AGAINST THE DOWNS-

Salisbury Florina returned to Underdown Park to face last years back to back league champions Elizabeth Downs. It was to be a huge game for Florina as Elizabeth Vale played Ingle Farm and Para Hills West played Parafield Gardens. A win against The Downs would see Florina stretch their lead six points over fifth and sixth and if results fell our way, would gain points on the league leaders.

It was a great game today by the lads as there was not one bystander and the Downs had to fight valiantley to hold of Florina as they had one of those games where they couldn't do much wrong but concede one goal. Florina had control for the majority of the first 25 minutes and it was one pumped Trevor Elliott who found the back of the net to put his team ahead, 1 - 0.

Florina looked to push for a futher goal as they were stretching the downs midfield and were winning the majority of the balls and continued to control the game keeping the Downs camped in their back half. It was Shamus Marron who with a brilliant run down the wing cut inside the box and slotted home goal of the day with a well taken shot to beat the keeper to make it 2- 0. Tony Reeves had a chance to pull back the lead but was denied with a fine save from the Florina keeper later in the half. Florina from there ran out the half in strong form being the more dominent team and could of been futher in front but missed some clear cut chances.

Halftime 2- 0.

The second half Florina were well aware of the Downs fighting heart and had to be on their toes not to let them back into the game. The game stepped up a gear with Downs pushing for the 2 goals they needed and Florina trying to put the game out of touch by scoring that third goal to kill off any chance of Downs making a come back. Neil Childs and Shamus Marron took control of the midfield and were the most dominent players on the park in the second half. It was about with 15 minutes to go when Florina was pushing for that third goal that they were caught out on the counter attack and the ball was pushed long and Tony Reeves was one on one with the keeper to put away a well taken goal to make it 2 - 1. The game stepped up a third gear now and became 15 minutes of end to end excitement as Downs now had a sniff of an equaliser and the Downs crowd grew in voice helping them get back into the game. Downs pushing for the equaliser though showed a few cracks in defence as they were getting stretched when Florina would hit them on the counter with quick passing through the midfield. It was then when Shamus Marron on the counter, attacked the Downs defence with one player to beat and squared it to substitute Frank Marron who cut into the box and slotted it past the Downs keeper to put the game out of reach with minutes to play, 3 - 1.

Fulltime 3 - 1.

Great stuff there lads. Are u 2 lads going to play one another before the seasons out, let me know and I'll come watch. Isn't there a boxing club at the Groves homeground, u 2 lads could start the KO in there!

Do anything to stay in div 3?
Dont think.
WE dont like the idea but we're expecting it.
We could play very dirty. We wont
Weve improved alot in the behaviour stakes.
Havent heard a peep about Croatia being dirty all year
until Medallion led you astray.
We signed Branko Milosevic over a month ago but the boys
decided that we got ourselves in the crap, we'll try to get out.
We dont think its fair to bring in a ringer ala Modbury.
Would love to have him in the team, and if he was......sheesh.
But we're a team of mates.

if you were behind the linesman, your daughter is infact a 15-16 yr old boy.
Thought you were one of ours for a moment.
He was wearing the same Track top as us, but without the sponsors.
And you were only there for a few minutes.
What did you come up with Sherlock?
Did the sleuth catch the linesman cheating?
No way , linesman had a cracker.

Result would've been different had the referee not be intimidated by the DEATH threats from the Croatian players and officials. I can't believe what I witnessed today and worse yet what my kids had to see. Croatia should've ended the game with no more than 8 players on the field, instead they finished with all 11 because the ref was too scared to do anything about it. The Raptors players copped an absolute beating, Literally!! No. 18 was elbowed in the head 3 times behind play and punched in the back by no 9 right in front of the Ref and all he received was a yellow and the referee telling him NOT TO THROW ANY MORE PUNCHES!! :?: :?:
No 9 was repeatedly chopped time and time again without the croatian players being cautioned.
I'm a fan of players going in hard for the ball and applying tight pressure but what the Croatian players displayed today was an absolute DISGRACE.
unbelievable.

intimidated by death threats? i was on the pitch the whole time and did not hear one threat directed to the referee, so im sure neither did he.

the game had some strong challenges by both teams but at no stage did a player need to be carried off or even attended to by a trainer.

regarding elbows and off the ball incidents, these things dont happen unless players from both teams provoke it. if players just concentrated on the game, this would never be an issue.
