East 1 - 2 Florina

Great start to the game with the ref not happy with the inflation of the ball. East didnt have another spare so had to use training balls from Florina.

Other than that I think the East followed the same pattern as most of the year where they were very competitive until half time, being 1 all, but then were pretty much hammered in the second and camped in their half. Florina finally broke down a dogged East through poor marking by a young player and a cool finish by Marron. East actually had two clear cut chances in the second half and could have snatched something from their tough defence but weren't clinical in front of goal.

Must say that Florina are one of the best sides I have seen all year. A very complete team all round the park, posssibly except the sweeper? But very good going forward so it really was a credit to east they held them out. Great addition for the Florina is certainly Childs. He took the piss today and I thought deserved a vote. BOG for me was probably McGregor or Marron. Well done to Florina, and with what Ive seen certainly could push for the league......

West Beach 2 Gardens 2

Beach scored early then we equalised within 15 minutes by M Chose went in 1 all. Came out & we scored from a short corner slotted away nicley by J Foster. Then on came Mcombie to score from a corner with about 8 mins to play. 2 2 it finished.

Boys have nobody else to blame again but ourselves.Total domination in possession & chances created but once again could not capatalize on the opportunities that went begging. Mohamed unfortunatly had an off day with about 4-5 golden opportunities including a saved penalty by the Beach keeper & a one v one in the final minute that was well pushed around the post by the keeper again :!: Very good game by the Beach keeper, who kept them in the game & also J Manca whilst Peacy just like last week picked the ball out the net twice & nothing more.

We can take alot of positives once again from the game but those positivies are'nt gonna give us the 3 points required to climb ourselves up the ladder in the right direction. 3 points we defently missed out on today espically looking at other results :(

A's:
Adelaide Pumas 3 - 5 ISC Raptors

Sorry, not 100% sure about the other results. i THINK though, that, the Raptors B's won around 3-0.

Very entertaining match in the A's. I'm really too tired to get into too much detail about the game now, BUT the scoring went like this:
PUMAS - RAPTORS
0 - 1
0 - 2
1 - 2
2 - 2
---- HALF TIME----
3 - 2
3 - 3
3 - 4
3 - 5 (penalty - last kick of the game)

Great game and a good crowd as well. Game was played in good spirits and the food was great (so i heard - the chicken ran out early on in the day - must have been good)

Congrats to both teams for a good hard match

Also referee had a fairly good game. he made 2 major blunders, but they canceled each other out in the end.

The first was in the opening 10 minutes, Raptors player scored a goal. the ball hit the bar BEHIND the goals (back frame) then it bounced out, and the referee thought it hit the crossbar or something, and therefore didn't call a goal.
The second blunder was a handball on the line by a raptors player which blocked a Pumas goal-bound shot. but he missed that too. so like i said, they cancelled each other out.

Hmmm another loss... seems to me they're strugling in Div 1

disapointing for a team that has dominated so much in the past

thye're a great team though, lets just hope they can bounce back in the 2nd half of the season

That does not surprise me, I feel that Fulham's results have probably flattered them and that they are likely to drop more points in the remaining games. After playing all the teams this year, there are 2 or maybe 3 other sides in the comp that were much tougher opponents.

Congrats to Croatia, they are dangerous when they come to play and have all their players available. They should be a tough test for us next week, they always seem to step up against us and give us a hard time. Is NK back playing or is he still on the injured list? I heard that JK is back out there again, is this true?

Downs 1 - Westies 1. today probably the quintessential game of two halves. The play followed the strong breeze with our boys having the best of the first. Classy finish by van westwyk after a tough challenge at the half way line by one of the magical 6. Downs not having many chances except an offside that was tucked away by Radford. Second half Downs picked up their game and attacked at will creating many chances and finally scoring after a failed clearance left Hughes (i think) free from 12 yards and he slotted home. The final 10 mins was end to end both teams pushing for the winner. I think the 1 all scoreline was pretty fair in the end both teams will be disappointed to not win though. Boy that makes things tight at the top some vital games to come in the next few weeks!!!

DIV 5

A; Wolves 7-5 SA Stars

A lot of the players from both teams played 2 games today, but the Wolves actually done SA over with fitness and fight after giving them a 0-3 start in the first 10 mins, then fought and clawed their way back to secure a hard victory. Even giving the Stars a penalty in the 90th min.

Istanbul, anyone? I used it in my half time talk when we were 2-3 down. It was definitly one of the best games I have ever seen.

SA wanted to punch on after the game and abused the ref. Some even refused to shake hands. I am proud of the Wolfmen for ignoring their tactics to have cards given out after the whistle and walking off. But, the game was largely played in good spirits.

The Wolves showed today what they are capeable of. It may have taken longer than expected, but the Lads are finally gelling as a team.

B; Wolves 1-3 (?) SA Stars

Undermanned Wolves, took the field with 10 players, ended with 9. The lads still fought hard, but, credit to Stars who deserved their victory. A player for the Wolves colts scored in his first senior game, things are looking up for the Wolves future

Funny, that is exactly what we all felt at Fulham after the B's game against you guys - still don't know how we didn't win that one

East 1 - Florina 2

Basically agree with what monkey boy has said. Both kirky and young dave pulled off a couple of cracking saves late on. Second half we held them out for a while and looked like we could grab a point but it wasnt to be. The only thing I dont agree with is Mcgregor BOG. Good old....OLD Mr. Gere played ok but I though Seamus was very good. Dejoia was up there as well and I thought the young bloke on the left had a pretty good game. The effort from our boys was good today. It was a big test for us to match what we did last week effort wise and I think if we can keep that work rate and commitment up for the rest of the year we should pull out some results. East boy made his long awaited return and was pretty good for us despite some less then flattering comments from his teamate  His passing was still diabolical but it was good to have him back out on the park for sure.

San Marco 4 - 2 Asteras

ASteras were up 2 -1 at half time. 3 goals that were scored in the first half were all scored within 3 minutes of each other.

2nd half San Marco stepped up a gear and deserved the win in the end.

The worst preformance came from the ref today. I think even San Marco would have to agree there

B's - Munno Para 1 Adelaide Vikings 4
A's - Munno Para 2 Adelaide Vikings 2

A great win for the b's, the first team to take points of the Munno Para reserves this year. The A grade was an entertaining game to watch, a fair game and a fair result. Both teams scored from the penalty spot in the first half and were probably the only 2 shots on target for the first half. We played against a strong breeze in the first half which seemed to disappear in the 2nd half?. We gained the lead from a header in the 70 min only to see Munno Para equlaize 60 secs later. As I said before a good game, an even contest played in good spirits. Thanks for the cheap beers for the long road trip home, much enjoyed. Good luck for the rest of the year MP.
