Saturday division one:

A's: Adelaide Uni 0 St Peters 4
B's: Adelaide Uni 1 St Peters 1

In the A's St Peters won quite comfortably in the end. The third goal was a result of some determination, fourth goal was well worth the watch.

In the reserves late in the game the Uni linesman flagged for a goal kick on a ball I didn't think went out and inadvertantly yelled out "the whole of the ball has to go over the whole of the line you twat" to which he responded "oh piss off... you think you can do better?" stretching out an arm to give me the flag. Just as I went to take him up on his offer he withdrew it saying "I don't think you can... I hate being called a twat" and sulked off back to the half way line.

Okay that little story had no bearing on the game, but to be frank that was as interesting as it got. The game was scrappy and I don't think either side deserved to win it. It kicked off take due to the club referee arriving up late (which who knows there could have been circumstances) but either way had he have been on time there was know corner flags in place anyway. After seeing Uni's cup match against Asteras I can't help wonder if they're always that disorganized.

The relegation battle is looking very interesting... espacially if Bosa and Africa both dropped points.

@B27 (thanks to Alex)

A's Red Blue Eagles 0 - Vipers 0
B's Red Blue Eagles 4 - Vipers 3

-edit, from my observation today!

B's - Vipers till asleep in the early stages of the game. Balls not being passed to feet, scrappy 1st touches and ultimately lots of confusion in the midfield/backline with some RB guys running all over the place, getting into space to receive the ball and not being shut down.

Couple of changes at half time proved that we were able to shut most of their attacking down, and slowly creep up but not reach them from being down. Unfortunately some luck from a corner and an penalty for the RB eagles sealed their victory. Another 10-15 mins dare I say Vipers would have taken control, but it was too late. A lesson to learn.

A's. Very poor performance. Vipers defence simply unable to shut them down succesfully at the back. Most of the time the Vipers backline booted long balls to nowhere upfront being a big mistake during this game. However the defence look great when their defenders worked the ball out throught their centre midfield - Both Centre midfielders having an awesome game. Unfortunately for the strikers they didn't receive any decent low-level balls for them to have a good crack at goals! They can't chase 30m high balls every time. This is where RB eagles looked good. Great passes to their strikers FEET.

I had to shoot away sharpish at the end of the ressies game so we were 1-0 up when I left and seemed to be pretty much in control. Dagas not seeing much up front.

In the B's, I can't believe you are where you are in the table, you were on the same points as us going into today' game. :D We hardly got out of 1st gear and still easily scored 9. A mixture in the B's of blokes who seemed decent enough and had a laugh and whingers.

It's hard to take as well. IMO we play a good brand of football but when your luck is down you need the gritty determined kind of player to dig you out of those tough times. I am not sure if we have those type of characters in our squad.

Where were all your players?? 15 guys out thats alot. Some injured, some on holiday and some suspended I take it? Either way there is something wrong when 15 players are unavailable. Thats got to be a club record!

So no change from the wanderers? You guys had heaps of players out then too? Somethig missing here. Do you guys have a c team with so many available players at the start of the season? Whats going on???

UNI 0 - 4 SPOC

Pretty average game I thought, watching from the sidelines (linesman). Saints never really got going but seemed to continue scoring throughout the game?!!! Uni are quite dangerous going forward but terrible in defence. If a coach could put players in their proper positions I think uni could play much better. As for us i think we played very well going forward, didnt really control the game as we'd have like but a 4-0 win is handy for not playing too well.
uni r half the team now as opposed to when we played them earlier in the year. What has happened?

What happened with Wanderers? Though u would have killed Gleeson???

We played brilliantly today, hardly gave Vipers a sniff. You mention our luck from a corner, but remember all three of your goals came from lucky deflections  Can't fault the performance from the guys, a great game.

A's game was good to watch, not too many chances but good football on show. Unlucky with the offside goal, it was borderline.

Definitely not 3 deflections, for instance the 3rd goal clealry was a shot into the top corner of the net :)

The corner was a lucky one, and there was a silly mistake in our backline which earned you a penalty - a goal we gave you :).

No disrespect to the RB eagles I thinky you guys had a great game, but to tell me the vipers hardly got a sniff, I think your sniffing something else :D

- also have to Question the offside goal....was it in? Laws of physics say if it the ball entirely crosses the line, how would it look to be back in play?? Interesting one

2 medial ligament tears
1 ankle ligament tear
1 acl tear
exams
2 on holidays
1 hamstring tear
another ankle injury

just lots of injuries really and players away for holidays, next week will see another 3-4 go on holidays to visit home (uni students).

Gone from a squad of 35 in the first divs down to maybe 25 if we're lucky.

We didn't concede any more goals once I got on :D

From what I hear Sturt won 1 nil in the A's and lost 3-2 in the Reserves.
All accounts are that Sturt looked quite comfortable all game and were not really troubled.
