Pontian Eagles Lose star midfielder??
Can anyone confirm that Johnny Spatharos has left the Pontians for State League outfit West Adelaide? All reports suggest that West Adelaide are reeling after their 3rd loss of the year and have approached Spatharos to help bolster their line-up in the run home for promotion.

Yes he has left the Pontians and is training with the WAB! A certain committee member rang him and asked to come out to train. Apparently not all the committee was aware of this approach and it has caused a few ripples amongst friends!!!medallion wrote:Can anyone confirm that Johnny Spatharos has left the Pontians for State League outfit West Adelaide? Spat can play when he wants to and I suppose thats the problem that you dont know which Spat will play on that day, the one that can win you the game off his own boot or the one that wont chase oafter the first minute. A player that has played with Spat before told me when he signed for Pontians he would last the season and I wondered why. Well after just 3 weeks he was right.
Good luck to him at WAB he didnt do anything that he hasnt done before and I think he was a talent that has wasted his skills.

Disappointing to hear the way it went down. It's probably better that he's left, knowing that the current group of players are there to stay and want to finish off the season they started. All the best for the second half of the season.Golden EAGLE wrote:Yes he has left the Pontians and is training with the WAB! A certain committee member rang him and asked to come out to train. when the going gets tough spat disappears. he has left a trail at every club he has been to. wait til he feels the pressure at wab dont think he would like that. should stick to playing x box and play at novice level so he can win

I think Spatty will do well at W.A.B still has quality and playing at a higher level you'll see it come out

OOOhh good questions FJ!!! I'd think that Spats would suit the Fed style of play much more than Sundy Div 1. He's certainly not the toughest players I've played.....
And the question by FJ is unfortunately one of those we will never get an answer..... My thoughts are possibly. But you'd find the younger, fitter stock in the state league.... Sunday teams would somewhat belt them off the park
