We've applied for a grant to build shelter at the ground. Fingers crossed!
Good luck with that. I wondered before because after you played Budapest there was a comment they stayed behind for a drink and stuff and I wondered where you went. I met your club ref at the Raptors' game today and he said something along the lines of wanting to get a shelter at the ground.

Grove A's 4-2 Croatia A's
Grove B's 3-2 Croatia B's
Grove C Grade won 3 0r 4-1 (?)

A poor display from the Grove today to be honest. Croatia took their chances in the first half to come back from 2-0 down via sloppy defending and a penalty. Grove scored on the half time whistle to go in 3-2 up. The second half the Grove stepped up a gear and could have/should have made the game safe with a number of chances going begging. Grove eventually wrapped it up towards the end to make it 4-2.

Says something about your team then doesnt it.......i mean to cop 5 goals to such a sh*t side.
To ONLY cop 5 was fortunate, your linesman incorrectly flagged offside at least 3 times when we were through on goals, and we hit the post twice.

But hey, 10-0 is a pretty accurate assesment........ :clown:

hey bodo

no mention of he raptors's 1st goal???

one of the best ive seen at this level!!!

the player in question received the ball near the centre circle. glided past one, skipped past another before unleashing a 25yd thunderbolt which crashed off the underside of the bar before bouncing in!!

no im not him!!! :D

Fulham 1 - Puma's 0

1st half Fulham were into a strong breeze but although Pumas were in Fulhams half for much of the half the best scoring chances still fell to Fulham who hit the post once and missed a couple of 1 on 1's.

2nd half much of the same with Fulham having the better chances and finally getting a goal with about 15 mins to go.

Any win is a good win and with a couple of players to come back into the squad fom injury and suspension this week it is looking good.

Pumas not a bad side (we thought that the 1st time we played them) but just lack that something to separate them from being a middle of the table side and a promotion contender.

over 35's

peckers 3 vs Field old boys ( plus about 9 young lads) 4

the Amatuer league need to make a rule about how
many under 35's a team can have. Otherwise we might
as well play Div 9 and take it seriously.

As for the Raptor boys, it's not all doom and gloom there's still 8 games to go with every game looming as a grand final for the boys from the East.
Seems to bit a bit of a discipline problem at Raptors.

2 players sent off in the past 3 weeks and if my memory serves me right there has been other send offs in the season for the A's.

Raptors are a good side but you can't win games and promotion without keeping your players on the park - it just puts your team behind the 8 ball.

this wasnt a discipline thing. it was just a standard red card. wasnt like a harsh tackle or anything. keeper brought down the striker in the box and he was last man.

B's Vista 1 v Bosna 1

Very dissapointing today from vista, lost two points that should have been secured in the first half. a 1 - 1 draw that gets inter back to within 1 point of us. Hopefully we can come good next week ready for the gully

A's Vista 4 v Bosna 2 :D

good effort today with an easy win in the end, vista coming good for the second half of the season and a bit of luck back for us. bosna played well at times but could'nt break our defence.

The first goal was a cracker. When they go in off the bar like that it always makes them look good.

Can concur with that. Whether he was the last man or not is open to debate but he was deemed to have stopped a goal scoring opportunity.

In all honesty the B's were not too bad, controlled the game and a shame a mistake in a bad position cost us a goal. Never mind back to the training track this week ready for our next encounter!

Mate it is kn0bs like you who come on here & spin rubbish like that give the people at certain clubs such a bad rep. How can you sit there & write that you don't mean to take anything from the way Asteras played after you basically accuse them of being over rated. From memory in the first game of the season Asteras we leading Para for most of the game & Para only scored 2 late goals to there credit of course to win the game. Today's game was very even in my opinion with both teams having several chances all game to score. Then making excuses regarding your long injury list boo fkn hoo :( you are only as good as the team you put on the park & I am sure all teams have their injuries problems cos Asteras definitely do too but we haven't used that as an excuse for any of our loses or poor performances. As I said it was a tough contest throughout the game but once any team was able to get a few goals in front it was going to be hard for the opposition & fortunately that was us today.

Para were a tough team on the park but a good bunch of blokes off it which is great to see. As for you Dbruz it was a pleasure to see 5 goals scored from such an average bunch of players hit the back of the Para net today. Good luck to Para for the rest of the season & lets enjoy the battle for 2nd spot.

USC Lion 1 - Pontians 0

Great effort by the boys today.

We controlled the game for 80 of the 95 minutes and eventually i think through weight of numbers finally managed to bundle a well deserved goal in with 10 to play. Great work hugenie   .

Pontians never really got into the game , i think due in part to our boys working their bollocks off to close down pontians playmakers in the middle of the park. Great work billy, zlad, pauly and kirbs

Now on to Farms next week. Cmon lads lets get to training . Its good now with Stef, you will see if you can be bothered getting off the missus and coming out for a kick.

I know its warm and cosy at home and sometimes a little cold and wet at training but I haven't seen a person dissolve yet in the rain and i have a sneaky suspicion that you wont dissolve either

Maybe but not on that photo. The ball in on the line. The whole of the ball has to cross the whole of the line.

Yeah, C's was a 2-1 loss to Inter. Another great day for the club, coming out ontop in both the first team and reserves. Well done to the Lads today, deserved winners.

Yes the food was good. I thought you were going to buy me a chicken wing Image
Can confirm all of those results and I beleive the C2 team beat Adelaide Villa 7-1.

A's
The scoreline flattered Inter. The sending off of the keeper no doubt played a big part in the result. It was 2-2 at the time, although I have to say there was controversy over the second Raptors' goal. The linesman flagged off side and the referee over ruled it. I wasn't perfectly in line so I can't say for sure, but it did look iffy. There was an incident a few minutes later where the same linesman flagged offside and the referee told him "never..." but I was in line with that one and when the orignal ball was played it was offside. The penalty from where I was standing looked like a penalty, although there were counter claims that the person who was fouled went in with studs showing. Couldn't tell from my angle. Probably not by that scoreline, but Inter deserved the win.

B's
Don't remember any real incidents from this game. I guess like when you read a book you remember the beginning and the end but not what's in the middle. There were a few arguments between some players after the game but it dispersed as quick as it started.

C's
Much closer game. All the goals in the first half, settled by a penalty which I think was a correct decision. Protests of getting the ball but it was a tackle from behind, endo of story. There was also an incident after the whistle but I didn't see the actual incident except for a player lying on the ground and some pointing of fingers.

C2's
Didn't watch the game but was advised of the score from someone who participated in it.

I met at least half a dozen forumites at the game.
Bodo, you have got to be joking. I was playing in the C grade game and that was no way a penaltie. Our player got the whole ball and the tackle was not directly from behind, it was from the side.

Also, whoever that big guy is who plays in defence for raptors, ran past one of our players after our goalie got the ball, elbowed him in the head and and said sucked in dickhead then ranaway.

If the ref had done his job propaly for the whole game, the proccedings at the end of the game wouldn't have happened endo of story.
The Club is always bigger and more important than any individual player.

mate?[/quote

we started the game flat and went 1-0 down to a scrappy goal from our own mistake and really struggled to come back from that, a few chances for each team but nothing clear cut maybe with some better thinking and composure in the box it could have been 1-1 at half time. as for the second half i think we had the better of the play and got caught off a corner which fell to 1 of there midfielders who shot from distance which took a deflection and wrong footed our keeper. player who it hit was in a off side position but pretty hard to call. we got a goal back pretty much straight away but to little to late! good young team sterling though and credit to them
