Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
that rumour is true. george has left the club and one of the strikers might be leavin before the week is out. think it could be due to work commitments

Exodus, movement of the people.
Unfortunate to hear, but they're all not getting any younger.

Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
I hear that there has been a number of people that have left the Pontians in the past few months. From a long serving trainer, whom I heard left on not so pleasant terms ,and numerous players that have left to various other clubs.
Bit of a shame as the club had potential.
Where does the reason lie for this exodus????

Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
The trainer left because he couldnt do a trainers job anymore, sore hands couldnt run do rub downs or strappings. Nice bloke but just couldnt do it anymore. As for players leaving I think there has been 2 or 3 but Im sure every club has that. I think the club underestimated Div1 football and make some decisions that they know now were wrong. In saying that I think we are still good enough to stay in that league and look forward to next year. Ive seen PHE today advertise for coaches for their 2009 season thats good forward thinking and Im sure the Pontians have got a few people in mind and interested for next year.phantom1 wrote:I hear that there has been a number of people that have left the Pontians in the past few months. From a long serving trainer, whom I heard left on not so pleasant terms ,and numerous players that have left to various other clubs.

Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
:? I think people really need to ask the Committee mainly the President, why the trainner left. He was the best trainer we have had here in years and all of us boys respected him and trusted him. And that respect and trust has rubbed off on to his assistant trainner. Which we never want to see leave but we have heard that this year is her last. I doubt it very much that we will see our mate back.
So i remind you all to ask the committee and or the President, Why the trainner left. And you all will understand where all of us boys come from when we say were PISSED

Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
After the Pontian - Florina game, if that was our president spewing like the way he did, there would not have been many players left the next week. Passion is one thing, but overdoing it like that is another.
As for coaching positions etc etc, what's wrong with Chriso? We have trevor elliot and it's his second year in charge.
My grandma can coach in amatuers. What's a coach going to teach in amatuers when 90% of players are ex fed players that have played a number of years and already know how to play or couldn't be fkd listening to a coach. Trev does not teach us anything new. He is just a passionate guy that tries to instillpassion in his players. He wants players to play with their hearts on there sleeves. He doesn't give specific tasks or tells people what to do.
Nearly everyone can play but if a coach doesn't have good enough players or players not training, which i'm sure is happenning right now, how is a coach going to make a difference? So look at recruiting players and not coaches (in most cases) as the ones that got u to Div 1 have been there for the long hall and only wants what's best for the club and not his pocket. That's why our club is run so well and it translates to on field performances. We are all great friends as we socialise at the club every friday night and usually go out together on saturday nights. Bet not many clubs can boast about that. If harmony is not kept in a club, they will struggle no matter what.

Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
let me get this right...... as a player, you dont need a coach to identify the reasons why you dont win every game (im assuming you havent won every gameTrev does not teach us anything new. He is just a passionate guy that tries to instillpassion in his players. He wants players to play with their hearts on there sleeves. He doesn't give specific tasks or tells people what to do.
i hope youve told trev how much you rate him

Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
Megabonus, i speak to trev every sunday before the game and every monday after the game. I respect him as my friend and fellow team mate and that's what he wants from all our players. He doesn't want to be a toss bag in amatuer league and lose all his players that either come out for the more relaxed surroundings and the social life. That's why i've seen alot of coaches come and go in amatuers. I've been playing for 27 years and he's not about to teach me anything new, as one i wouldn't listen cause i don't give a rats - 95% of amatuer players and two - i don't listen anyway
and two he wants us to play to each individuals strengths, and in my case it's hogging
Nothing to do with rating trevor as a coach. When i say teach us anything new, i mean - how to pass a ball, how to shoot or how to dribble. Of course we go thru what we did wrong and try and correct it next time. If a player has no motivation to play, no matter how good he is, He just won't play. You need a good motivator like trev to get the best out of that person. Although trev has been coaching for 1 and a half seasons, i'm sure he would make a great coach as he has great passion and good knowledge of soccer. So there, i do rate trev, and i'm not just saying it to win brownie points. Every team should have a player or coach like him and differences will be made to those teams. Say what u want but if we go on to win the league (IF!!!) people would say, wow what a great coach and only in his second year as coach. It's who he is and what he portrays himself to be - A Great bloke!

I think if you ask all players at the club they are very happy with the new trainer. Dont know of any that are "PISSED" at her.
As for the Pres well I have told him a thousand times to calm down after games and during games but mostly after. He puts in more time into the club than he does his work. I suppose to much passion can be a little dangerous but we deal with it. He know he has lost it a few times and then later in the week he realised that it was too much.
As for Phantom well you tell me the correct facts mate!
M Andrea just worry about your club mate, I know our pres lost at the Florina game but when your 3-0 up and draw in a derby game if you had any heart your will be upset and say and do things taht when you look back seem over the top. So look out for the return fixture Ill make sure you dont get another 3 goals this time

Hard man,I agree with Golden Eagle, but think u may b stroking something else.As far as new trainer,I feel that the old trainer would wish them all the best and luck, and that the players give them the respect that Pontians old trainer was given, and not get shafted and used.
Go Pontians kick ass and stay in Div 1 where you belong!!!!!!
Re: PONTIAN EAGLES EXODUS
pontians dont belong in div 1. there results of late show that and if they keep playing that stavros guy upfront then they definitly will bein div 2 next year. has more luck with the ladies than hitting the back of the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
