I know you are fishing Ruud but you must be hurting, not about what Ellas did in 2004 but netherlands exit in 2008. Your team played extremely well early on but were knocked out emphatically by the Russians.

Personally it wont bother me if Turkey wins it because to win a tournament like this YOU DESERVE TO BE CROWNED CHAMPION. There was a theory going around in 2004 (one of many) that tried to undermind Ellas's triumph. It particularly came from englands and italys fans and I quote "the didnt play us" and dare I say it from the dutch fans too. Now the Ellas fans can take the same approach should the turks win it but in my opinion that would be silly.

Having said this let me make a few things perfectly clear. In 2004 Ellas scored in every one of its 6 games and each and every goal was in the regular 90 minute plus time added on period. Another thing to make perfectly clear in the quarters (France) the semis (Check republic) and final (Portugal) not only were we contending with 3 countries I believe were better then than what they are now, we are also talking about the reigning champ (then), the tournament favourite (then) and the host (then) and they respectively had 3 greats of the game Zidane, Nedved and Figo who I admit were in their twighlights but were still playing top level football playing against us.

Ellas 2004 triumph made me even prouder of my heritage than I thought I could ever be, after what that football side was able to do. In all due respects the result of this Euro will not change that. Not this one, not the one after infact no results of any football competition around the world ever. Our moment in football will live forever and I will take it to my grave :D

No they don't.

Okay, Greeks fight hate the Turks.
Greeks fight with the Albanians.
Greeks fight with the Kosovars.
Greeks fight with the Macedonians.
Greeks fight with Northern Cypriots.
Greeks fight with the Italians (actually I've only really seen it on this forum).
Greeks half the time fight with themselves.

There seems to be a common denominator here. :D

I don't care who wins as long as the final is classic with lots of goals, maybe a 4-3 win.

he's not English anymore, he's support australia over England. Should be shot for treason.

And you're right, I really hope it's a 0-0 with lots of defensive play.

I said similar 4 years ago about the bubbles. (well not the good football part), I expected them to be knocked out in every game and they went ahead and won the thing.

How weird it could be a Euro Final between 2 countries predominantly NOT IN EUROPE!!

Interesting point. I guess the only thing more weird would be a Kazkhstan v Israel final one day.

 this clown makes ronaldo look plausable.

mate noone cares that you won in 04 except you and the other greek members on this forum so dont go on about it.

Motley your a bloody clown aswell mate. it hurts him because his team got knocked out? what does that have to do with him asking the question about turkey winning and its affects on greece

i think it would be interesting

turkey would have the talking point for 4 years over greece.

i hope russia win tbh. just for the sakes that hiddink has shown he is a true genius.
