I was an interested spectator for the second half only of the farm - raptors game and the first half must have been a cracker cos the second half was terrible. I can rememver only one shot that didn't hit a defender and make it to the goal keeper and that pulled out a very good save from the raptors keeper down to his left. Raptors had enough of the ball in defence and midfield but no punch up front to many easy clearable balls for farm. a couple of pressure moments that gained corners but never really looked like equalising unfortunately cos that was what the second half needed.

USC Lion 3-1 South Coast

Alot of people are writting us off. Thats ok. The boys seem to fight harder when their backs are too the wall. Apparently a convincing display, south coast scored a consolation in the last few minutes.

Meanwhile i went and watched a boring game in Sydney. 1-0 to China. enough said.

Unless the goalkeepers action was judged as deliberate I don't see why he should have been sent off.
However, I haven't read through the Laws of the Game thoroughly.
If he is seeking to gain an advantage by denying a goal scoring opportunity then it is Serious Foul Play and a Red Card. If there were 3 Raptor players behind him, then you could argue it is only a Yellow card.
It would not have been serious foul play (offence code R1), which applies when a player has been excessively aggressive in challenging for the ball. (Different to violent conduct, which is for "off the ball"). Sounds like it would have been either of the following:
- denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his penalty area) (R4); or
- denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick (R5).

I take it ur still in goals then furburger???
I didn't pick that up (that he was plugging himself) and thought he must have been one of the Uni players but after The Spick's question above and some research realised Furburger's plugging himself.

Nice work :D :D

As for saying that keeper's a gun... I take that back

Definetly mate our first 35minutes or so was awesome but we did drop off a bit after that. Maybe we thought it was all over? Which you should never do obviously. We did give them a lot of space in the second half I think we we're trying to attack a bit 2 much with long balls when we needed to slow the game down and take control again. At least we won as you said & let's see who get in the next round be interesting.

No complaints on this one from Sturt Marion, TTG came flying out of the blocks and with all the changes we had to make it took us too long to settle down. Honestly didn't think there was too much between the two teams and it was a good cup tie - plenty of goals, just enough niggle and bite without it being OTT, and worthy winners.

This post is coming a bit late in the day, but just wanted to wish TTG all the best for the rest of the season.

P.S. Well done Ronnie, cracking run for the killer goal at the end.

I maybe guessing that you are the number 7 in the middle. Just enough niggle, have to agree with that. It was a typical cup tie with the Gullies coming out firing only to let you guys in with a sniff,to your credit showed some good old fashioned spirit( maybe it was the scottish, the Irish or whatever else you had out there in ya's.A few different accents out there, can you understand each other :D )Then we showed our grit and grounded out the win.
Thanks for the competitive hit out eventually, its what our guys needed to get the second half of the season started. Hopefully the goals keep coming and we get back in contention.
P.S tell that tall prick not to stomp people behind play

I think our 3-0 start definetly gave us the upper hand in the outcome of the game. Although I thought we we're 2 pretty evenly matched teams as well. It was a great game to be involved in with everything going on like you said. We we're happy to come out of that with a win in the 90 minutes. Might've been a different story had it gone to extra time you never know.

Thanks as well mate in regards to my run & penalty. I think my last 4 weeks or so have been my best of the season so hopefully it keeps going. Good luck to you boys as well.

Gully performed well, would've been interesting to see how the result would have gone if it was 3-0 at half time. Dissapointing second half in which gully did not dictate on their terms. Also of concern is the defending of corners and the giving away of corners - something I think which should be looked at over training.

Credit to SturtM who fought well & best of luck for rest of season. Niggle was mostly just that, although a few instances I thought was a bit uncessary, but can also blame the ref for not taking control (both sides). Gully reserves in resonable nick at the moment after a disasterious start to the year. Amazing what a settled squad and proper keeper will do for a team.

Although i think id prefer a draw :D we got to win our next two games against Budapest and Hahndorf to make sure were back in the mix for the second half the season (lot of the top teams are playing each other over next week as with u and Adelaide this weekend)
Ramos! How are you buddy? Thanks for the info and good luck on the week end. Dont under estimate Budapest. Not the best side to watch but can put a result together on a good day.

Thier forward who got sent off scored two goals against us in the A's 3 weeks ago. To: Ramos, Govilla

I think Ramos has sour grapes, I play for FC Adelaide, against them a couple of weeks ago, we had about 4 first team players missing, that's why a few reserves played for the first team, first team won fairly easy against a poor flinders team, maybe they should have used their quick giants to expose our slow defence, not sure how they are so far up the ladder, reserves had C's grade playing, 2 players sent off , lost 5 nil fair enough, could not ask anymore of the players, flinders reserves deserved it.

Cup games, Flinders & Fulham
We struggled to field a team for either Saturday or Sunday, Some of the guys who played for the C grade came and played for the reserves left the C's at half time, this is why they were late, went down to 9 men, fair enough players who got sent off, should be more disciplined, the one who played A's last time against flinders is a B's player, and he got sent of after 10 minutes in the cup game, Flinders were 1-0 nil up at the time, so he obviously had a major impact on the game, the reserves beat a shocking flinders team 2-1 with 9 men. a lot of FC Adelaide players work at the airport and cannot make Sunday games, therefore struggled to get a team out on Sunday, nothing about A's playing B's, just the way it is for Cup games

If Govilla wants a true reflection of what to expect, the reserves beat Cove a couple of weeks ago and the A's have held Sturt Marion to a 1-1 draw, other than the flinders game the reserves have only conceeded two goals all season. Against Cove the A's had a very poor game and its only loss all year.

Should be a good set of games, I am sure both games will be tight and hope the best team on the day will win.

Good luck

Pitch is nice and flat, holds the rain really well, so should be good for a passing game, we are carrying a few injuries, our top scorer broke his leg after 5 minutes against Cougars, which was unfortunate, holding player in the middle is also out, we have a fairly big squad, but just depends on what kind of game the coach wants to play, I am sure you know where I am coming from.

the next couple of weeks should open the table a bit, we have monarchs the week after as well, always done well against them in the past, but they are a hit and miss team as well.
