Flinders1-2 FC Adelaide.(reserves cup)

Flinders scored early directly from a corner, after that Adelaide had a player sent off for two yellow cards within 30 seconds both stupid fouls that definately deserved yellow. A real team man to get sent offthat way, Adelaide equalised just before half time. Adelaide went 2-1 up in the second half then went down to 9 players after another send off, Flinders player got sent off for complaining about an obvious penalty not being called and thats how it finished. I dont think Flinders had a shot for the whole game and were contained easily by lesser players (number wise).

Sturt Marion 5 - 2 Iggies (A Grade)

Sturt outplayed Iggies and came out 5-2 winners. Some cracking football played and some very good goals scored. Credit to the Iggies striker who took his second goal very well but not enough against a strong Sturt team who put some decent moves together.

yes the gullies lost to bosa 5-1.
we had 4 1st team players out. and got a red card about 15 minutes in. bosa moved the ball around well
and it seemed to me that none of us wanted to win so didnt make a fulll effort.
pretty dissapointing, goodluck bosa in your next round. :clown:

Yeah dissapointing, and saying none of you wanted to win could be a bit harsh as at least youse turned up, as some of the first team boys would rather go fishing than play in the cup which is disapointing considering we got to the final last year, maybe you should blame them. Where's their commitment to the club!!!!

I hope that those 4 players are ex EPL players because the rest of the team would battle against most reserves teams in Div 1 Sat. It was a good performance by BOSA and should be at least a feather in the cap of the Saturday divs for those who love to crap on about the Sunday Vs Saturday leagues.

BOSA took the foot off of the peddle at 3 - 0 half time and cruised to the victory. Gully was undisciplined and only kicked the ball long when they had possession. The send off was harsh but the player couldn't shut his mouth after his yellow. I doubt that this would have made much difference to the result.

They are a Div 2 Sunday team though. Left Right Out would of been missing also due to coaching a fed team.

The cup has turned up some interesting results already.

Gully aren't really tearing up Sunday Division 2 and BOSA are Saturday Division 1 so I don't know how the Sat/Sun comparison has any merit in this game ?

Many have said, and most likely people from the Sunday leagues that Saturday Div 1 would struggle against Sunday Div 2. Well BOSA are battling at equal bottom on points but 8th on goal diff and TTG are 4th in Div 2. That is my point about the comparison and the result is not what was in mind but more the poor skill and tactical level of TTG. I don't expect BOSA to take out the cup but TTG certainly weren't what I expected after all the tips that were put out this week.

Saints in control for most of the game despite going down to 10 men with a very soft send off, the red was quite harsh by the referee

The Gleeson goalkeeper turned a shot over the cross bar whilst laying on the ground -

Four players can change the whole skill level of any team, that is if Gully had four key players out ?

Great result by the lads beating a Div 1 Sunday Team...not many people would have picked this one

Africa 2 Wanderers 2 and AET

Africa eventually won 4-3 on penalties.
Africa had player sent off, then thought they'd even it up by a filthy challenge that put our bloke in hospital - only got a yellow card too.
Where are the ambulances when u need them - we waited about 45 mins, then played 5 to 7 mins in each extra time half.

Crap way to lose, but happens to the best teams & in Euro champ games

Wanderers host Africans again next week at Veneto and will be strengthened by a few players coming back into the side, it made a big difference today!!!

I was at that game. Firstly I hope your player is okay. The African club really should have had a stretcher available although in hindsight it may have been best not to move the player until the paramedics arrived (both were female and the referee didn't mind checking out). The ambulance took 35 minutes to arrive which to the injured player in the cold probably felt like an eternatity. It happened right in front of me. I don't think the challenge was filthy as such, just late. No malice would have been intended. The player involved would probably be the fairest most level headed player in the team. Unlike the idiot that got himself sent off (he regularly backchats). There is a couple in there that lose their temper very easily. Due to the delay after the regulation time the referee said there was not enough light to play fifteen minutes each way for extra time but would play seven each way if both clubs agreed to it. No one was looking forward to replaying an abandoned tie midweek so they both did, but in reality the referee only played 5½ minutes and 6½ minutes respectively.

It got pretty dark after the completion of penalties so there definately wouldn't have been enough time to play fifteen each way.

Also good to see you guys turning it on in extra time again. You boys have definitely caught the battlers bug, fighting your way through to the quarters. Good luck mate, I hope you guys progress further. Good bunch of blokes.

Was thinking the same thing myself medallion. Good to see the old men at the back still mixing it with players half their age. Bravo to Aldo and teammates, a very good bunch of blokes.

Good luck to you and your Raptor boys tomorrow also medallion, ill be there to see you blokes. Going to be a hard game with P.S and Z.P out of the team, but you guys have plenty of depth and should hopefully give the Farm a run for its money.

By the way, i heard about last weeks game v Fulham, what the hell happened??? Some Fulham players told me you were very hard done by???

Anyways, good luck for tomorrow 8)

I don't actually recall who took individual penalties but no keeper made a save in the shoot-out. The non-converted all went wide.

Does that mean they'll turn out for the reserves this afternoon or are they all cup tied from earlier rounds? See you all this arvo for what will hopefully be a cracker.
