State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
Perhaps people can post planned friendly/trial games and results here as the state teams prepare to go to their various competitions.
For starters.....
U15 State team played Fulham reserves last night (11 June), with the score being; U15 State 7 - 1 Fulham Res.
I believe the U15s also have games next Monday (16 June) vs State Schoolgirls, and Tuesday (17 June) vs State U17s.
Those 2 games should be a much tougher test for them!
Any U14 games planned?

State U15s 2 - 2 State Schoolgirls
A good game to watch.
U15s played the ball around very well, and created some good sequences of play. IMO they probably had the larger percentage of posession.
The Schoolgirls seemed to have a more 'direct' style of play, and were very quick on the counter attacks.
Well done to all the girls involved.

under15's VS under 17's
15's- 0
17's- 8 i think..
goal scorers..
Christie 4
Quigs 4
was not a bad game... 15's definately have alot of very skillful and strong players.. they put up quite a fight.. and did not give up.. even after a tough game yesterday they put in the hard work..
both teams look very promising for nationals coming up in 16 days exciting stuff... is going to be a good week in Coffs

Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
U17s played well last night. You can tell that the majority of the team plays together regularly (ie SASI), and this should be a great advantage for them which SA teams haven't always had.
I'm sure that the U17s will do very well when they go to Coffs.
The U15s were quite nervous, and it showed to start with.
However, I thought that they put in a good effort overall (despite the scoreline), but they just couldn't match the speed and strength of the older girls. With there being a difference in age of up to 3 years between some of the players out there this was to be expected, but it would have been a good learning experience for them. It was good to see that most of the U15s didn't just 'drop their heads', and they carried on battling right to the end of the game.

Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
That should be an advantage pvfc (and lets hope it is). Unfortunately, when you're up against NSW (x3 and Qld they also have squads that have been together from juniors.
Also, it depends on how the coach manages all the players.
p.s who are the coaches for both squads?

Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
FRom what I have read, it seems like Bevereley are a pretty average team. Never heard of them.
Now if you said sasi and state teams played Croydon or Ad City unser 15 b's etc then I think it woudl be super imrpessive otherwise you might be just getting a false sense of security.

those boys cant even string a pass to each other, the girls defence has had little work to do so far, it will come back and haunt them.

things seem disorganised, apparently there are plenty of injuries with this bunch, but are they being over worked?
Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
I would not agree with the term Worst Side Possible as the boys are improving but I do agree with that the 17 girls have not gained much considering that the boys were to play the SASI team and not the U17 state side. So if we are to compare the results the U17 state team is no better that the U15 SASI side as the result was 1 goal difference.goodie gumdrops wrote:the best under 17 girls play against one of the worst sides possible in the 15c comp....what was gained?quiggles wrote:state under 17s VS Beverley under 15 C boys

The Beverley team does sound pretty average. Must be the name!SAD GAL wrote:FRom what I have read, it seems like Bevereley are a pretty average team. Never heard of them.

Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
SASI / State U17 = Almost the same team. Wouldn't expect the result to be any different....
SASI is not an U15 team, just playing in U15C because thats where FFSA placed them - but we wont go there now, there has been more than enough discussion about that in other topics, and this topic is about the various State Teams and their prepartions for the upcoming Nationals.

Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
wouldnt say disorganised, we had to postpone the match due to injuries. We havent had much luck injury wise, but then the girls have a lot to learn in how to look after themselves and be more mature about the decisions they make.goodie gumdrops wrote:whats going on with the 14s?BillShankly wrote:now on the 23rdBillShankly wrote:Friday 13th

its a very inexperienced bunch of girls, most of them dont have the benefit of going away in the past and playing for the state, so its very much an educational process.
Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
I hear what you are saying, but what the rest off us must under stand that comments made in previous post are degrading to the players playing within there capability and attempting to improve them self’s and club. Do you think that the comments would be the same if the girls were play an elite side of the FFSA and the results were on the other foot????????????pvfc wrote:SASI / State U17 = Almost the same team. All I am saying is that the girls are very good and deserve there status but some comments should be left at home as all of the boys in the 15c are doing their best and should not be degraded as they have been in the past.
Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
Grouch, I agree with you completely. There is no need for the posts which are degrading to the boys playing U15C.

Re: State Teams - Trial/Friendly Games
Just saw the highlights of the Beverly game on the sasi website.
If the coach can honestly say with hand on heart that 15c's is the place to be then we stuffed.
No disrespect to the admirable fight put up by the lads, however, what I saw on the video does nothing to change mine (an others) minds on the nonsensical situation of sasi in the under 15c's.
I am sure Crookey will not allow his team to be dropped into a league that will not serve their purpose and embarrass the opposition unnecessarily. why does this happen to us?

coz the teams in the higher divisions blocked the girls entering. i thought this had already been covered
