Being disciplined isnt really the case. The first red card was a mistimed tackle and deserved a second yellow but that is the way Edgie plays and always will. The Radford second yellow was an absolute joke. Does every foul that a player makes have to be a yellow card? Coz thats what was happening on Sunday, was like watching a game of netball!!!
Agree to disagree I guess. He shouldnt have stayed on the park after the headbutt. The minute he came on all he wanted to do was kill Aitken. IMO he's a handy player and would have been better off channelling the agression and hurting us where it mattered most - on the scoreboard....
I agree that Agression should be put to better use. But if tommy should have been sent off for the attempted head butt, then Aitken should have been booked for similar things. Bad tackles, wasting time, abusing the supporters on the side line with foul and abusive guestures. None of that was taken into consideration by the ref. I do agree that a ref does not win or loose a game for you, but having less players on the park surely does not help, and when both teams are making similar challenges you would like some consistancy. But thats football, and without the controvercy, we all probably would not all love it as much.
I think my drinking club has a soccer problem.....

I've watched the Downs a few times recently and compared to the last 2 seasons they appear to be less fit. They don't seem to be able to run out a game. Big Reevesy must be frustrated by the extra weight he is carrying, Red seems to be carrying an injury into games, like it or not they miss Hullsy in goal. I think they need a "wise" but fit general directing the defense. All in all they are a very frustrated team in 2008.
That's a big call Benny is a top keeper & adds value to the Downs side.

No disrespect to Benny but, he's not that far off the mark, statistcally Hullsy conceded 12 goals last year (carrying an injury ) and Benny 35 (only 2 less than Inter who finished bottom ).
They are very different keepers, I have seen Benny stop some great shots this year but he is very quiet on the park.
Hullsy makes a lot of shots look easier than what they are and is/was very flexible and seemed to instruct his defence more.

Downs v Beach.. Downs missing a couple & low on confidence with Beach starting to get some results. Downs should be to strong at home tho & get a win PHW v Vale.. West strong @ home but Vale are a good side. D Nicholls will be a big out for the Vale. I reckon Westies will stay underfeated & get a draw @ home Pontian v Farm.. Farm hit a bit of a bump but far to good of a team to stay down. Farm to get back to winning ways Florina v Lion.. Florina got some good results of late & should continue @ home Gardens v East.. Big game for the boys. East got a surprise result last week & on a high. IMO we were unlucky not to get a result last week @ The Vale & were starting to get back to playing some good football. The points should start to come and it will start with 3 this week

Downs v Beach: Don't have to say much here but i know downs to win and if they don't i think my pre season words will come back to haunt Motts Beach trying hard but at argnana park, downs in a close one. PHW v Vale: Still don't know how westies are up there undefeated. Spose it was like Florina last year at this time last yr. bubble about to burst for Westies, vale to win. (but hope it's a draw) Pontian v Farm: Would have to say after playing farm last week that they should get a win here as farm are fast team and pontians tend to slacken off last 25min. farm in close one, but again hope Pontian win for obvious reasons! Florina v Lion: We have been very unlucky these few weeks and should have snatched some wins. Lion apparently decimated but would not surprise if they come out fighting. they way we have been playing should win but always been good games against Lion. Wish them well. Florina to win(Obviously) Gardens v East:: Don't know what is going on at Gardens. Have the players, but just not winning. Aitken can't keep bailing easties out, gardens to get their first win in ages. Good luck Jarrod

Knights v Bosna is around the corner.
Fulham v Raptors is tempting. Pontian v Farmsis also within range.

My boys have picked this game today.
Did your boys enjoy the game today? or did they make their way down to the playground behind the goals?
Great pics today swannsong always look forward to your match report with pics each week.

Cheers and thanks.
They were mostly off in the schoolyard playing with some of the "Pontian" kids.
Then they were playing inside on the table football game.
I also enjoyed a very tasty lamb shaslick after the game.
Best of liuck for the rest of the year (except against the Downs of course ! )
