Are you referring to these Strange Tenants ?... If so they must have been "Hard Times."
The guy in the bottom right looks like Keith Ryan ?

Division 1- Round 9

Elizabeth Downs v West Beach Downs are desperate for a win in order to keep their average season getting any worse. West Beach have been playing some decent football but haven't finished off the pick of their chances which could've seem them higher up the ladder. After 2 soul searching losses, i think Downs will be too strong at home. 2-1

Para Hills West v Elizabeth Vale This is the Vales' second top of the table clash in the first half of the season. They seem to rise to the big game occasion and knock off their opponents with relative ease. Vale are always a hard team to break down, are well coached and are playing good football at the moment. Westies on the other hand have learnt how to grind out results and have yet to register a loss. In order for Westies to curb the Vale's goal scoring prowess, their midfield will have to work extra hard to stop the supply been given to Nicholls. This will be match of the round for me and I see the Vale going 4 points clear at the top. Vale 3-2

Pontian Eagles v Ingle Farm As I predicted last week, the Pontians were too classy and strong for an under-performing Beach. This week however they play the previously pace setting Farm, who after 2 weeks of mixed results see themselves drop to third. This is a danger game for the Farm because if they lose this one they could be chasing their tales heading into the second round. It will be interesting to see how Farm deal with the much improved Eagles and their much talked about passing game. Predicting an upset in this one, Eagles to win 2-1

Parafield Gardens v Para Hills East Easts run of good form couldn't have come at a better time. Gardens are struggling at the moment and this game could be pose as a 6 pointer for them. Gardens however do have the personnel to put Easts away, with some pacy midfielders. Both teams will have to be at their best in order to produce some good football, otherwise supporters could be in for a dull, scrappy affair, possibly even a 0-0 draw.

Salisbury Florina v USC Lion Florina showed last week that they can mix it with the best, and pull a result. I think their fortunes have changed and you will see a big win this week from them. The trip for lion all the way from the west will pose as their biggest challenge to field a full strength side. Florina musn't take this game lightly though, as they have been prone to lapse in concentration at times which has cost them points this year. Florina to win 3-0, but beware of complacency as lion could surprise a few.

TTG 0 vs Inter 3. Tigers are a one man team. Inter have a few class players in key positions.
Mod 0 vs Cro 3. Croatia are itching to spank someone, sometime. Its inevitable.
Ful 0 vs Rap 0. Or 4 all.
S.K 2 vs Bos 0. Bosnia are good but 11 bleary eyed players due to watching Croatia And Turkey in Euro. The rest of us only have to deal with following one team. Oh, unless youre a Serb or English i suppose.
Grov 2 vs Pum 0. Pumas out of luck from now on.

Elizabeth Downs v West Beach
After watching our schambolic performfance against Beach 2 weeks ago i would say they are a good chance of winning this game. I wasn't at the game on the weekend against the downs, hence no comments on the game, but from what i hear the downs are a very very beatable side. I think this is a huge game for both sides. Beach can certainly get a win and the downs wont want to be dragged into the fight against relegation, which is a real possibility. i predict 2-2
Para Hills West v Elizabeth Vale
Game of the round by far i think. Westies are always tough at home as Farm found out recently. Vale are in some great form though and i think it will make for a very tough encounter. I think the vale are a little too slow for Westies though. The vale are very experienced and haven't got great pace. Wesites are the opposite though. Young, reletively inexperienced and quick. If the Vale can contain the running players and Nicholls can bag a few they will win. But i see Westies wanting it a little more. I predict Wesites 2 - Vale 1

Pontian Eagles v Ingle Farm
Very interesting game this one. Pontians are on the improve no doubt about it! With Johnny Spat in some touch and the brigade of class players pontian have finding their feet in div1 it will be a very tough fight for Farm. Farm are seemingly out of touch at the moment and have been brought back down to earth with a few average result from their point of veiw. They have a point to prove and they know it. I predict 2-2

Parafield Gardens v Para Hills East
Another massive game for our boys this week. We weren't up for it against the Beach, but that may have been the thing that kicks our buts into gear. We need these points to get back in the mix and gardens need them to get out of the fight. Gardens apparently strugging, but they have some quality players there that can do damage. Golder is a massive loss for gardens, but so are the few that went to feds. I think we can get over the line and start a good run of results to prove everyone wrong! I predict Gardens 1 East 2

Salisbury Florina v USC Lion
I think Florina will be too good for Lion. Seen both teams play this year and i dont think Lion are near Florina. With a few major inclusions back at Florina i think they will get over the line comfortably. Lion will be battling it out at the bottom this year i think.
I predict Florina 3 - Lion 0

I believe Krollig has scored 5 goals from 7 league games so I'd say he's no tourist.

Rightwinger you must play for Bosna then, Derrick's been good this year but the only game he has really turned it on is the Bosna game! Krollig definately not a passenger, aswell as Goran "flying balkan". Gully have plenty in the tank mate!

You mean it helps when you have 11 men that can stay disciplined for 90mins and not let emotion overtake their brains?

As for this week

Massive game for both clubs. The boys shouldnt need any motivation to get up for this one which will result in a tight game. A few of our players are beginning to find some form as well as our team starting to become more balanced (a little late I know), so hopefully we can carry some momentum from the win last week into this weeks battle at the gardens. Should be a good contest and with a commited effort we can come away with 3 points. Gardens 1 PHE 2

I think although the downs haven't got the results they wanted so far, they've got quality players that can produce the goods. West beach killed us but, and no disrespect to beach, I think that day we self destructed more than anything. If the downs have got players to replace ones suspended they should get through at Argana Park. Downs 3 West Beach 1

We all know this is match of the round. Para Hills West host the Vale. Having seen both sides I'm tipping the Vale. Westies obviously have a lot of youth and pace but I'm not convinced that they've had a physical test quite like Vale. Interesting to see if they can handle it and not be intimidated. Will also be interesting to see if Nicholls can continue his goal scoing frenzy against arguably the best defence going around. Should be a close one. PHW 1 Vale 2

Ingle Farm will be desperate for a win after slipping to third. Some say they are in a form slump but after speaking to a few players from the farm last week the florina result may have been misleading. Missed the game when we played Pontian so cant say I know too much about them. I reckon Farm will bounce back for a win. Pontian 0 Farm 2

Neither Florina or Lion were really impressive in my opinion but from all reports Florina are on the up and up. A few recent signings have bolstered their team. With Steve "Richard Gere" McGregor waddling through the midfield they might come away with a win although if Lion were to get up I wouldnt be shocked either. Florina 3 Lion 2

Elizabeth Downs v West Beach........surely the downs can't be that bad all year. Beach to show some fight but i will go for the downs 1 last time. downs 2-1

Para Hills West v Elizabeth Vale.......Should be a cracker. Can't wait, hopefully the young and fit westies can find the goals at home. Always great test against the vale. Both teams gonna get good chances. battle of the defences. West 3-1

Pontian Eagles v Ingle Farm............Well what's happened to the farm? not alot probaly, 1 loss and a draw isn't gonna be the end of the world for the farm. Pontians finding form, should be a cracking game. both teams with class players who can play quality football. not sure the eagles have enough to win. 1-1

Parafield Gardens v Para Hills East....who would've thought, east beating downs.... should be a good game, gardens to get up 1-0

Salisbury Florina v USC Lion.........who cares....florina 2-1

Not sure if I will travel all the way to the Downs this week.
Knights v Bosna is around the corner.
Fulham v Raptors is tempting.
Pontian v Farms is also within range.

Ive played against gully a few times over the years and Derricks the only one i rate. IMO there are alot of 1-man teams in div 2. The reason TTG are doing relatively well this year is theyre playing against other 1 man teams. Krollig hasnt stood out to me before, so ill take your word for it, theyre a 2 man team them.

Modbury Vista vs Croatia - Its the relegation battle up at vista oval. After a week of sackings and re-appointments at Vista they put up a decent fight to push pumas all the way but couldn't get over the line. Croatia are struggling at the moment too. This game will come down to who wants it more and take themselves 3 points clear of the other. Vista are shakey at the back, but have the midfield and strikeforce to score winning totals. Croatia with a stalwart in goals and organised back 4 will make this task a little harder. I'm predicting a 2-2 draw and croatia to remain at the foot of the table.

Fulham vs Raptors - One of 2 match of the rounds as the unbeaten Force face the chasing Raptors. Two teams who pride themselves on their skillful, ball playing abilities this game will truly be a game for the purists. As both teams have showed they can score and defend, this game will be won in the midfield. Who will step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck and set themselves up nicely for an assault on promotion heading into the second round. I'm predicting a Raptors upset, with the winner coming in the last minute. 2-1 Raptors

Southern Knights vs Bosna - After a flying start to their season, the knights have come crashing back down to earth with only 1 point from their last 4 games. Bosna haven't really got their season going as yet but could use this crucial away match to gain a valuable 3 points and move a step closer to avoiding the relegation fight. With the wild and willy conditions predicted on the weekend, i'm predicitng the Knights will pre-vail at home. Knights 1-0

Elizabeth Grove v Adelaide Pumas - After watching Grove put on a good display of football last week against the 3rd ranked Raptors, they can only hope they carry that form into this match to gain some sort of consistancy. The peckers have been susceptable to a lack of consistancy this year and it may be due to the fact that they have pushed all top teams to a result. Pumas are the kangaroos of the competition led by their fearless leader Jack Mantzarapis. This team will not go away and concede defeat until the final whistle, so it poses as a danger game for Grove if they lose they'll drop further away from the middle of the table and into the relegation battle as the pumas will close in on the top 4. Grove are better than that and i'm predicting a 3-2 win.

Tea Tree Gully v Salisbury Inter This is my second match of the round with the flying Inter facing an improving TTG. Its 1st vs 4th and bragging rights are on the line. If TTG win, they bring Inter back into line with the other chasing teams but if they lose Inter will have uuassailable lead over them and maintain their 5 point buffer at the top of the ladder. Last week Inter showed their class and came back from 2-0 against Fulham who had only conceded 5 goals up until that game. I'd like to predict an upset as i'm a sucker for the underdog, but I can't see TTG matching it with the in-form Inter.
Inter 2-0

Being disciplined isnt really the case. The first red card was a mistimed tackle and deserved a second yellow but that is the way Edgie plays and always will. The Radford second yellow was an absolute joke. Does every foul that a player makes have to be a yellow card? Coz thats what was happening on Sunday, was like watching a game of netball!!!

Agree to disagree I guess. He shouldnt have stayed on the park after the headbutt. The minute he came on all he wanted to do was kill Aitken. IMO he's a handy player and would have been better off channelling the agression and hurting us where it mattered most - on the scoreboard....

I've watched the Downs a few times recently and compared to the last 2 seasons they appear to be less fit. They don't seem to be able to run out a game. Big Reevesy must be frustrated by the extra weight he is carrying, Red seems to be carrying an injury into games, like it or not they miss Hullsy in goal. I think they need a "wise" but fit general directing the defense. All in all they are a very frustrated team in 2008.
