This could be the turning point.
Torres off and Fabregas on, going slightly defensive and Russia will benefit.

Apparently Spain have never won a EURO match by more then 1 goal so expext Russia to score.

Russia have had some success in various events recently...
  • Eurobasket
  • World Ice Hockey
  • Uefa Cup
  • Eurovision Song Contest
... but unless they improve drastically Euro 2008 is not going to be one of them.

Thats the first Hatrick since Klueivert scored 3 past the old Yuguslavia at EURO 2000

sorry not including this one. I cant remember the last one. It could've been van basten in 96, i think.

Russia have given Spain 2 gifts with bad passes the lead to fast breaks. Crazy and very costly.

Simply too good from Spain, we just had way too much class and way too much talent for Russia. There were a few wobbles at the back for us and the fact that we play on the counter without really being able to absorb defensive pressure well scares me. We shall see.

remember World Cup 2006?????

Spain beating Ukraine 4-0

Both teams eventually made it comfortably through the group.

Spain ended up bowing out early, the Ukrainians bounced back to make the quarters.
