The boys from Victor are ok, I can assure you of that. Super game at Port Elliot, I thought we just about deserved it. Go the Breakers!

As a Grove player I must agree with what has been said so far. The ref had an absolute shocker. The refs weve had this year have all been shocking but i think they are getting worse from week to week! The only bonus was that he was at least making dodgy decisions for both teams!
Agree that the Raptors penalty decision was a definate pen from where i was standing. As the player who was fouled for the penalty for Grove, i had no idea what happend apart from i was running away from the defender and then he was on top of me. Again debateable as to whether it was inside or outside the box. When i got to my feet i was pretty much on the line of the box.

Felt that a draw was a fair result to be honest. Playing away from home against the most in-form side in the league was good for us. There were chances at both ends as pressure from Raptors made us play on the counter attack in the second half. But we still had chances to kill the game off.

Raptors are a strong side, the best side weve played so far this year. Was a great game to play in, despite the refs decision making. Also must congratulate the sweeper who scored a great free kick into the keepers top right hand corner to equalise the game. Good luck in the future and should be a good game when you boys come to the grove.[/quote]

Since u the guy that took the penalty, can u explain the header 20 or so yards out????    in the 2nd half....

Yes due to the cold and wet I had a big navy blue overcoat over it. I was invited to the game by a forumite from the Eagles some weeks ago and did ask a couple of officials if they knew who it was but both said no. I should have written a report when I got home and it was fresh in my mind but the first thing I did was rush upstairs, take a shower and defrost.

I only saw the end of the C's games but in the twenty minutes I did see both keepers made brilliant saves.

That free kick in the B's to equalize was some strike, but I think it was a fair result.

I don't think the A game wasn't as one sided as the scoreline suggested, but thew Eagles deserved to win. The first half particularly both sides had chances although I am miffed as to how the Eagles missed an open goal from practically on the line. Your first goal was a good team created effort. Their keeper didn't have a chance. Once the second one went in it was all over. West Beach did have a couple of chances but in the final third it wasn't happening and I had that feeling they weren't going to score.

I kept a look out for a dancing red puppet but never saw him.

Finally, you guys make nice shaslicks (is that how you spell it?).

Yes, but your shashliks did have vegetables on them. The first time I had ever heard of the term shashliks was at an Fc Adelaide game earlier in the season. In Brisbane at the depot the canteen was run by a Polish immigrant and he had similar things, but he just called them "sticky chickens" :D

Great to see the East get their first three pointer. Hopefully there will be more where that came from to ensure survival. About time you made your first post Swifty- where you holding out for a win?

Great team display today by Gullies. Dug deep in the B's and got the result that the boys throughly deserved. I thought their captain played a top notch game :D

Gully A's always looked the goods - great result for the boys and some classy goals. Great way to celebrate the day off tomorrow :D Big game next week against Inter.
Yes yamug i thought their captain had a good game as well. The steam train wasn't easy to stop! :)
It was a good performance from both sides today, B's probably could of put 10 away but the ref and linesman were unbelievably biased, 2 goals disallowed, more chances unable to be finished off because the linesman was so quick to put the flag up. I had heard their ref was a joke but not that bad.

Pumas 4
Vista 3

Pumas had a shaky start conceeding cheap goals but showed good determination to come from 3-2 down with 15 minutes to play to win 3-4
Both teams played well with vista having the most of the chances in the first half. Pumas rallied in the second half and eventually got the win

it was a great contest with both teams extremely fired up,
good luck vista for the rest of the year, hope you stay above rellegation. It would be a shame to miss out on this fixture next year.

Hey Bodo,

The dancing red puppet looked more like a muppet. He was captain for B's and missed a golden chance to win the game in the dying minutes!

So that wasn't you who fired in that free kick to level it up? That was beautiful.

This was a great win for the club in many ways.
Its our first win over the Gardens in a few years now I think, and to do it with 10 men for most of the match was a true VALE performance. I thought the send off was a little harsh myself and their was a 10min period where cards were given out for some silly decisions....... BUT thats Football I suppose, got to take the good with the bad.
Great all round team effort and with results ending the way they did, this win put us on top of the pile.
Goal Scorers: Chris Nicholls with a nicely slotted penalty and Mick Hobbs with a cracking header.
Big game this week against the Westies, we open a small gap on them if we beat them and knock them off their undefeated status.
Being on top of the league means we become the Hunted now!!
Bring on Sunday, C'mon the VALE.
At the end of it all there will still be Football !!
It wasn't Bad but its Far from Good !
