Poland have never managed to defeat Germany (or West Germany) in an international fixture in 15 attempts. The Poles have managed to draw in just four of these, losing the other 11. They did however have an upper hand over the former East Germany winning twice and drawing one of their four meeteings.
Their last meeting came in the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany – a game which the hosts managed to win 1-0 thanks to a goal from Oliver Neuville deep into injury time.
Polish midfielder Radoslaw Sobolewski was sent off in this fixture late into the second half.
Poland have never scored past a unified Germany. They scoredseven goals in their 15 matches against the West Germans and six from four against the East germans. The last time that they managed either of these was in May 1980 against West Germany in a home friendly.

You too. I wouldn't say completely shite but I know the presenters were saying how well played Germany played and I was thinking they didn't play as well as the presenters were raving. In fact, although all four games so far have gone to form I think Portugal has been the only one who played really well.

Did anyone pick up on the frustration Frings continually showed after every ball he didn't get back. They didn't look like a team that is working together. I thought it was pretty un-professional of him to re-act in that way towards his team mates. Personally, I think he's struggling for form and is taking it out on his team mates.

I for one also thought that Germany werent that convincing. Its one thing to be able to create chances but in all the games ive seen thus far, i cant honestly say ive seen one team that hasnt constantly shown major cracks in their defence and that definately includes Germany.

Funniest part is, it took a Pole to bury the Poles. Podolski was born in Poland to Polish parents, and you could see after his 1st goal that his celebration was that subdued, that it was obvious his heart still has many feelings towards his Polish heritage. They probably calling him a traitor in Poland, and fair enough i say, but he did play all his Football in Germany, still a traitor in the eyes of the Poles though. Tough to be in his position at this present moment.

Yeah look, this is hard one Bodo, but after all he was born in Poland irrespective of where he played all of his Football. If you were born in Australia, and then your parents moved to Japan for whatever reason, and you played all your Football in Japan, who would you represent??? Its a big call and a tough one at that id say. I dont call Simunic a traitor because at the end of the day, speaking for myslelf, i have more feelings for Greece than i do Australia although i love this country also, but sorry, my veins run with Blue & White blood. Podolski was born to Krystyna (Germanised: Christina) and Waldemar Podolski, former Polish football professional, in the Upper Silesian industrial town of Gliwice (German: Gleiwitz), Poland. In 1987, when Lukas Podolski was two years old, his family settled from the People's Republic of Poland to West Germany, gaining the German Citizenship due to liberal West German regulations concerning repatriats of Silesian-German ethnicity (so-called "Spätaussiedler"). Podolski grew up in Bergheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, and later in Pulheim, both near Cologne.

He was two when he moved to West Germany and unlikely to have any recollition of life in Poland. He's also said to be of Silesian-German ethnicity, something that Poland tried to crush. Authorities banned the remaining German minority from speaking their native language. There are still unresolved feelings on the sides of both Poles and Germans, largely because of German atrocities committed against the Poles and the forced expulsion of Germans from areas that constitute roughly the western half of modern Poland
