have to agree with robbo
when westies played the gardens, some of the stuff the westies coach

Dave and Clarky have a lot of friends at PHW and I know that they have found it very hard to leave, especially Dave who has been associated with the club for over twenty years. I don't think the team mates and supporters who have been left behind often realise how hard it is for those who leave and how much thought goes into the process before doing so. At the end of the day you expect to cop a bit of stick on the park but after the final whistle has blown it is nice to shake hands and enjoy a beer with some old friends.

As far as the game was concerned I thought we well and truly dominated possesion but did not actually create a lot of opportunities. PHW made the best from their chances so we must congratulate them on the three points.

What was the incident with the PHW coach?
what was said?
and what was the reason for his outburst?

Doesn't surprise me that Boof Beaman is unpopular. He was becoming quite unpopular at the Pirates before he took off. The unsportsman like comments dont surprise me either, the guy has the personality of a wet shirt. His disrespect to loyal club people doesn't go down well either. Doran should still be playing at the Pirates, the boy is a quality player but has obviously taken some bad advice.

you can blame the pitch or the day or the coach or the team all you want.

Bottom line is EVERY team has to play on that pitch throughout the season so no point sookin you were hard done by because of the pitch conditions.

YES, westies do use their pitch to their advantage and who wouldnt-who doesnt use their home pitch to an advantage.

As for the first div comments - i think that this season there is a tighter div 1. not due to a higher level of form but possibly a form slump?? after pretty much seeing all the teams i cant say i have seen one team thats a stand out that is really unbeatable. i think there are a lot of teams this year who have younger lads stepping up into first team squads and older players retiring - give it til next season and i think all shall be well in div 1

Well what a day it was. I haven't been avoiding this forum because we lost but just haven't had the chance to get on and post

A's
We dominated the game for long periods but lacked quality with the final ball. Westies game plan was to play physical and to run. That was their strengths and they certainly played to them. Referee was poor but certainly didnt cost us the game. Jonesy through on goals, keeper to beat and gets jumped on. Not sure if it was in the box but definate foul and red card, unfortuanately the decision was play on. Westies had a great chance from a corner in the first half but Robbie made a great save. At half time we felt that we just needed a goal and it would kill Westies off. It just never came in time.
In the second half, Westies started worrying about playing rather than kicking and chatting up Dave and Clarkey and they played much better. Certainly dont have the skill of other teams but they are quick and direct, a style that Downs have used to win the last two leagues. A defensive error saw Westies score and as we pushed forward, a mistake in the midfield left Westies with an easy chance to make it 2 nil. Jonesy should of had a penalty in the second half to but it would of been hard to see given where the ref was standing. It happened right in front of me but again, thats life and football. We had other chances which we should of taken which would of won the game

I thought we did enough to win or at least a draw but Football is decided upon by the number of goals you score, not how much you have the ball or the number of passes you string together. Well Done to Westies cause they are getting the most out of a squad that most wouldn't consider the strongest in the league. Westies keeper played well and I agree that Doren did well considering the amount of work he had to do. I have no idea how Harris got their best player as I thought he was soundly beaten but maybe he had a specific job to do and the coach thought he did it.

As for the Westies coach, you should be ashamed of yourself with how you acted on Sunday. You showed a complete lack of respect not only for two of our players but our entire club and I'm really hoping that Karma gets you back. Westies are a great bunch of lads. In the clubrooms after the game, most of the Westies boys came up and said hello to Dave and Clarkey, shared a beer with them and had a chat. We often see the Westies boys when we head out and most are good mates with them. What you said and did on Sunday shows that you are nothing and wont go far in coaching cause no other club will touch you after they find out what you are truely like. No coach or club likes losing players to other teams but have you ever asked Dave or Clarkey why they left. Why would Dave leave a club that he has been at for 22 years, served on the commmittee, recruited players for and put a lot of his own money and time into making that club what it is today along with a lot of other people. The answer quite simply is YOU! Show some respect and class to a guy that has done more for that club than you, a Johnny come lately ever will. You wouldn't see Allan Mottram, Keith Ryan, Brad French, Paul Simpson and many others do what you did on Sunday. You also ensured that those two guys will never join back up at Westies whilst you are there. Pull your head in :clown:

Theres my little spit for the day. Well Done to Westies. I didn't realise they were unbeaten and so they are definately the team to beat now. We have it all to do again. Bloody Downs couldn't do us the favour in drawing with Vale. Cheers to all the Westies boys for the drinks and food, look forward to seeing you at our ground in the return leg.

I missed most of the B game due to an injury of my own and then one of our defenders got king hit, by our own GK lol. Nearly knocked him out. I know the B's won 4-0 and played very well.

The C's drew 2 all. Lets not talk about the goal I missed from 2 yards
Great to see Johnno and Matty Rowe still running around to. A couple of great bloke there.

PS Thanks to the Fat Hack that played in the defence for the C's. Giving me a black eye behind the play. The eye looks great for my job interview today

PPS I know Robbo can go to far sometimes but he is passionate. If you dont like the match report he writes on our own club website, dont read it. If you think you can do better, spend the minimum 50 hours it took him to set it up and the minimum 10 hours a week he spends updating it and you can say what you like 8)

I can't believe the amount of controversy this game has caused. At the end of the day Westies won and thats that, no excuses of pitch, coach or players. The two ex players of Westies made their decision to leave on their own accord and the players that were gained have bonded with the rest of the team really well and have brought good youth to the squad as the results have shown.

As for the coach he is also passionate about his team and the game and from chatting with the boys i don't know of who you are talking about that isn't happy with Dave as our coach. He has brought in a great bunch of young lads and has got the results we wanted.

league is decided after 18 games not 7 and no team should get ahead of themselves.

At this stage last year I think Florina and East were near the top and they both finished near the bottom at the end of the year.

But after the alleged out burst by the Westies coach he better hope he finishes ahead of Farm and they dont win the league because then we will all know who will end up having the last laugh - and it defintely wont be him.

Hardly controversy. Westies got the win and as you said, both teams had to contend with the pitch and the referee. Good luck to Westies but I did take offence to the way their coach behaved. Look at the Downs, crowd gets stuck into every team that plays there but they are great after the game in the bar. Mottram never gets into anything like what the crowd dishes out. Westies coach forgot it was West V Farm, he thought it was him v 2 players.

The players he has bought in seem to be doing the business, they are 3rd and haven't lost a game so good luck to them. You can do that and still have respect for the opposition. Thats all my point is.

Interesting reading, I am told the Farm changed there winning line up from the previous weeks? With the score lines they had racked up in previous weeks, why would the coach do that???

Live and learn Farmers, if it isn’t broken don't change it. This may be a lesson that could come back and bite, big time

There has only been one game this year were we have gone in unchanged so that completely destroys your arguement. Keeping try though, you'll get there one day.

I've played at Westies for over twenty years and a lot of that time I've played alongside David Eggers in the Westies first team, he is a great player who on his day is in the best five players in the league. His record speaks for itself:

4 time Westies Club B & F
Player Life Member
Division 4 League B & F (Ineligable under the old suspension system), he won it by more than 14 votes from memory)
Division 3 League B & F
Division 3 League Highest Goal Scorer
Division 2 League B & F Runner Up
Division 1 League B & F
State Amateur Team Member

Who else at the West has these credentials? NO ONE.

I think to many people have forgotten what him and the his family have done for the West.

OK for whatever reason he's left the club which was an extremely hard decision for him that he deliberated over for a number of weeks, it's interesting that he has earned respect, although he might not be liked at every other club in the amateur league except Para Hills West who have always taken him for granted and maybe if the so called incident with the coach took place this is the reason why.

If that's the case then Dave has made the right decision for him and I wish him all the best of luck and look forward to playing C's with him in a few years time.

Jay thanks for missing that 2 yarder and how about that spanker from Westies number 5 (ME) from 30 yards into the top corner, what a cracker. Your C Team is the best one we've played against by a mile this year and if you guys could score goals surely you would at the top of the table.

You have summed it up perfectly King Kenny.

In regards to your goal, if you scored the second goal it is the best I have seen this year by a country mile. Absolute cracker. I could do nothing but applauded when it went it, people pay money to see a goal like that. Well done, maybe next time leave it for when you play the Vale or someone  .

Says it all really. I'm not complaining though. It is great having Dave Eggers, Clarkey, Adam Dunt, Wade Dingle, Torsten Rutter (return), Mick McGivern, Paul Sanderson and all other other recruits at our club. Every single one of those guys are top blokes off the park as well as on it and as a club we do our best to ensure that they and their girlfriends, wives and kids all feel welcome.

Kenny, to bad the Number 5 for Ingle Farm (me) couldn't put the goal away
Was a good game to play in, you are still to good to be playing in the C's.

How is it that the transfer of Dave & Clarky has been taken this far from a PHW perspective.

take ya mind back to Bert leavin the Vale to Downs & even big Reevesy Inter to Downs (& he even scored the winner against em to win the league for the Downs) you can chuck in R Taylor from Gardens to Downs aswell... this list would go on!

i bet these lads coped a mouth full of (friendly) banter from the opposition supporters & ex players during the game but never from the coach

He did one session to see what he thought. Could of had something to do with the Big Day Out to

At that time, he said he couldn't find a good reason to change clubs.

take ya mind back to Bert leavin the Vale to Downs & even big Reevesy Inter to Downs (& he even scored the winner against em to win the league for the Downs) you can chuck in R Taylor from Gardens to Downs aswell... this list would go on!

i bet these lads coped a mouth full of (friendly) banter from the opposition supporters & ex players during the game but never from the coach
Didn't Bert follow Pudler from Westies to Downs about 5-6 years ago??
