It has been pretty quiet on the Farm front.
Westies now the only undefeated team in Sunday Division 1.

I honestly think West are the worst team we have played this year. I am still scratching my head to how our boys lost that. The ball was camped in their half for most of the match and they probably had three shots all day.

Farm were unlucky when in the first half a PHW defender (on a yellow card) rugby tackled a Farm striker who was one on one - who didnt receive a free kick or yellow card

Basic skills like controlling the ball and passing were non existant from West and I am wondering how the hell they are unbeaten this season.

Their coach proved to be the biggest tool of all during the match, pretty embarrassing effort I would have thought, and having spoken to a lot of PHW yesterday the coach is very unpopular except with his "6 untouchable young lads" who "sit at their own table." If PHW want to employ a bloke like that to coach then the future looks bright

I laugh at the PHW coach who gave best player to their centre half when quite clearly their keeper was a mile ahead of anyone on the park

Robbo,
In response to your comments i believe everyone at the club is very happy with the coach so far. The pitch makes it very difficult to play attractive football which sucks!! the votes read out at the pres are spectator votes not coaches votes. Tough, gritty game and looking forward to the return leg!!!

I hear your coach is very unpopular with many down there, it is no surprise to me.

His comments during the match directed at one of our player was disgusting. Good sportsmanship.

Nah mate he will probably take his few loyal followers and move on somewhere else soon enough. He is an absolute W a nk e -r

Yes believe me we cant wait to play you again.. you wont get lucky again

I dont think anyone who we have played this year are a great stand out side. Farm and Vale are obviously the most clinical sides going around. We are yet to see the downs and gardens, but from all reports nothing too special there.
If you compare this year to the last few years, the downs were almost unbeatable. This year you have a few teams around the same quality and the rest are a fair way off i would say. Westies will just play hard and scrappy as they always have done and grind out results.
Seems as though there is going to be a great divide between the top half and the bottom half this year. Hopefully for us anyways!

I have read your posts before Robbo and MOST of what you write is really good BUT when you lose, sometimes its better to not say anything. I have learnt this the hardway myself at times but its often seen as sour grapes. No one knows what happens at another club unless you play for them or are on the committee. The person or people who told you about the coach or the select 6 players is obviously a disgruntled player or not seeing eye to eye with someone. The Farm are a to good of a side to let 1 game bother them.

Nah Robbo the young lads all came via the port area. I played ressies at westies in goal a couple of years ago but this is basically my second season as a goalkeeper. The coach was the reason we have the great bunch of lads now who have bonded really well at the club. Talented players who are also humble and hard working which is why together with the westies faithful we are sitting so high.Agree with previous posts just about any of the clubs can pinch a result which should make for a great year.

Robbo, do yourself a favour and shut up, you sound like a sore loser no question.

Yes, Ingle Farm are a more talented team but you obviously had a bad day - despite your arguments.

Best team on the day took the chocolates. Accept it. Move on to next week.

It's funny that Jay isn't here blaming everybody but his team like you are....

Sooks - were you there????

I think when we lost Dunty after 3 minutes and Ricky came on who had played almost a full game of Reserves definately helped West. (well done Rick.)

Fair enough you guys saying I got sour grapes, but West were fair dinkum as lucky as I have seen. They should have been down to 10 men in the first half after our striker got dragged down rugby style as the last man, then outplayed for almost the whole match, then jagged a goal out of nowhere 10 minutes from time. Im angry - yes, but West lucky, my word..

Anyone that saw the game would have said the same thing - except for the PHW coach - who said "We thoroughly deserved the win" You got to be joking mate.

Watch as West slowly slip down the ladder from here, they are crap

Yes, I was there.

Last time I checked, if you score more goals than the opposition, you win - hence PHW deserve the win on basis of goals scored.

Scrappy game all round, including Farm's play. Could have gone either way.

Robbo, pick up your dummy from the floor.

Also at the game, sounds like sour grapes to me. Westies thoroughly deserved the win. Well done to perhaps the youngest, hardest working team in Sunday division 1, very impressive.

I was at the game and from my point of view being a neutral! I think that if the game was played on a decent pitch farm would of thumped west, ground played a huge roll as west are the only team that are able to play a semi decent standard on there!

I must say in Robbo's defense i didn't think much of Westies either. But they have never been a brilliant, technically sound side. They do what they need to do and they are used to their pitch and it does bring the "better" sides down a few levels.
If you have a good side, you expect to win every game and sometimes you don't. It is frustrating when you lose, but this should just make Farm even more hungry to belt everyone. Maybe this actually did their ego's a good thing.

Come on ROBBO settle down.

Firstly well done to the West, they where dominated for 90 minutes but the young lads defended well and there keeper pulled off some great saves. They had three chances, of which Rob Greenwood pulled off a great save himself and the two goals. They probably did not deserve to win but such is football these things happen and they came away with the win. Just look at France and Scotland in the Euro qualifiers, France dominated all game and Scotland walked away with the point. That's life, take it on the chin and moved on.

RedFans08 if you were the keeper you can hold your head up for a job well done. For me you were best on ground for the West, and that is not just because of the great save you pulled off. I thought your positioning was excellent all game, that allowed you to come for corners and also get to the ball quickly and try and put the West into attack. Well done.

I did not like what the coach had to say to Eggers when the West scored the second goal, that was total disrespect not just to Dave but to the Eggers family name who have done so much for the West over the years, all you need to do is look at the club honour board and see what I mean. Real shame from him, real shame.

The Ref was very poor but he was just as bad for both sides. Yes, that was a clear penalty but the West are not too blame for not calling it, they did not have the whistle in there hands. Although I don't care if the refs credentials say he is a Level 1 Ref, his age says otherwise and that was clear yesterday. There are better younger refs with level 2 and 3 credentials that would have clearly done a better job. I guess this is something the league needs to sort out.

Well done to the West and hopefully the Farm can reverse the result on our ground.

The only shame to the loss is that the great Ably moe is gone, no more pimp my ride for Alby.

Robbo who were the bright sparks at Ingle Farm that decided to give Simpson nearly a full game in the reserves before he sat on the bench? Especially when you were playing Westies who are second to bottom in the reserves!!!

If you reckon that you just played the worst side of the year what do you think of your side that lost to them?

There is little doubt that Ingle Farm dominated posession but that does not win games. How many good scoring chances did Ingle Farm create?

Torsten is a handful for most central defenders and my view is that Doren did a great job on him. It fact that duel was a great highlight of the game.Btw Doren also nearly scored early on but for a point blank save from Greenwood.

Agree that Matty in goal had a good solid game in goal like he has had each week.

The funny thing is that is the first home win all year for Westies. The current Westies side struggles with the pitch as much as anyone. They have won every away game so far.

Westies needed to win to stay in touch and they did, there is a lot of games left in this season and one win does not make/break a season. The side needs to keep working on/off the park and take each game as it comes. Respecting each opponent each week but not getting overawed by them as they have done thus far.

In summary others can keep on blaming everything else (pitch, referee, injuries, lack of penalties) and see where it gets them at the end of the year!!

The coach took a hardline at the start of the year and if some players don't like that well tough. If it hadn't been for the players he brought in this year the club would be battling at the other end of the table.

I didn't know that coaching had become a popularity contest!!!

I suppose the antics of Dunty when celebrating a goal recently against an old club is more your idea of sportsmanship!!! Should he have rolled out the red carpet to players that left of their own accord.

It is true that Eggars and Clarkey were loyal servants of Westies but they made the decision to leave.

So far the coach has introduced a good system, is endeavouring to play football and most importantly is getting results.

Btw I am not one of your so called 6.

Agreed, Matty should have polled all 3 votes in my opinion, absolute superstar. Has been in great form all year. And Doran has really held his own against the leagues top strikers week in and week out, and he is only 19! Great future ahead of him.

100% correct GFC.. The pitch was terrible, no team could have played decent soccer on it.

Definantly suited the west boys
