the West Adelaide lad (no I wont say the number) who walked off after the game without shaking hands with the opposition - young man it doesn't matter how angry you are with yourself or how disappointed with your team's effort - that behaviour shows you're not a disciplined player and it's disrespectful to yourself, your team, your club and most certainly disrespectful to the visiting team. You need to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and learn by your mistakes. You won't gain anyones respect by behaving in that manner - I'm sure you're better than that....all the best for the future

Lol what under was this West Adelaide kid? and in what match, was there any possible reason why he didnt shake any1s hand?

Its the most professional thing you can do by shaking hands......i had a kid hassaling me all game today, even ripped the stitches in my jersey but after the game i shaked his hand, he wasnt expecting it either. Our coach whos had us for many years made sure we always shaked hands after the game, as he says 'what happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch, once whistles blown, we go back to our normal social lifes'

I haven't made a mistake by posting my comment and it certainly wasn't "bad sportmanship" on my behalf. It happened and I only hope the young man learns from it and if I witness this behaviour again... yes I will be posting it. You have yourself a good night "Teddles"

I had a similar experience with an opposition player a few years ago, in fact he went one step further by spitting in his hand and then shaking hands, I spoke to his coach about it and the child was taken aside , reminded of his attitude failings and was made to clean his hand and shake hands with every player on my team with the rest of the team standing by. Win, lose or draw , good or bad games , you should always acknowledge the opposition in the true sense of sportsmanship.
