good story with boothy, possibly 92 season we won second last game of the season to win the league and whilst we were celebrating boothy(the captain) turns round to the rest of the team and says great result boys a point next week and the titles ours!! gold

I think somewhere along the line they merged with Plympton Bulldogs.
Correct.
Prior to that they were a merger between Clipsal United and Cumberland United, hence the Foxes part of the name.
I remember Graham Standbridge was an instigator in getting Clipsal United started.
Graham worked for Gerrard Industries and had financial assistance from Clipsal to start the team.
I can't remember how or why but I did train with Clipsal several times at Collins Reserve.
There is a playing missing from the East team line up, Leon Hannessen. Speaking to him last night he definately played for the East in that final, he tells me he has the medal to prove it.

i could be wrong but i thought leon 'akookoo' hannessen joined para hills east the following season he should remember because we dumped his macedonian side out of the cup that year, score was about 13-zip only to draw against them the following week 1 all in the league.
maybe robin friday can remember
i'm with you boots.. i'm sure leon came to the club and replaced wazza..and wazza, tony cornish and maybe 1-2 more and left to join the jets after first title in 1992..remember the 1-1 draw,my only red card in 18 years of amateurs ..was the 13-0 victory over macos the day their coach charlie villani was taunted for wearing the pink shellsuit?
The team line-ups wer printed 4-5 days before the final and were supplied by the teams.
Hence, Leon is missing.
However, he isn't in the SAASL Year Book photo either !

I saw him at the shops a couple months ago. He said he hadn't played for a few years because he had bad knees. Gave me the impression that it would be highly unlikely that the boots would ever go on again.
