Sunday Division One:
A's: Usc Lion 2 Elizabeth Downs 4
B's: Usc Lion 2 Elizabeth Downs 8

A's: Pontian Eagles 2 Para Hills West 3
B's: Pontian Eagles 1 Para Hills West 0 (didn't see either of these but had results sms'd to me

Sunday Division Five:
A's: Spirit 1 Unley United 0 (only saw last 30 minutes of this one)

It's the first time I've seen a sunday league game and first time I've been to amateur league headquarters at Grange. I was expecting a better pitch and it wasn't until the end of the second game that Swannsong pointed out to me where the main ground was behind us.

The away crowd out numbered the home crowd. I overheard someone saying they have half of Elizabeth down here for the reserves game. Slight exageration but they quite clearly outnumbered the Lions' fans. The Downs reserves had clocked up a tennis score going into the break with a 6-0 lead. Lion made an inspiring substitution at half time. They changed their linesman. The first half saw the worst performance of a club linesman I've seen in Adelaide. Sorry Redders, it had to be said, and if I didn't say it I'm sure you'll have a dozen Down's players saying the same thing. Redders himself played quite well. Lion pulled two goals back in the second half before the Downs finished it off.

In th main game the Downs had also chalked up a sizable half time lead going in 4-0 up at the break. All credit to Lions who took the game to the Downs in the second half and within five minutes they had pulled it back to 4-2. The Downs defended very deep and allowed Lions to come forward. Both teams had chances to add to the score but 2-4 it finished.

Behind us a fifth division game was going on. One of the Spirit players got injured and required an ambulance to take him away. I don't know how it happened but I hope he makes a speedy recovery. This resulted in a half hour delay of the game so I went watched the last half hour of that after the Lion v Downs game. A couple of the Unley people on the sidelines question some of the Spirits' linesman's calls but I have to say the ones I was inline with he got spot on. Didn't see the goal, but Spirit won it by the narrowist of margins.

Actually I had planned to, but then I noticed the Downs were playing at Grange and I thought Swannsong would be there (which he was). Next time.... and you better bag a double!

Pumas v TTG

A's: Pumas 0-3 TTG
B's: Pumas 0-4 TTG? i think.

Great win by the boys, hard fought game! Nice to get a clean sheet for Stu in goals as he has deserved one! TTG didnt play to the best of their ability but took their chances. Was a good game to play in, Pumas are good bunch of lads! All the best for the season!

Good game with Adelaide Croatia and Bosna Adelaide. It was an interesting match and Bosna came out on top. Even though it looked like the match would not even last 90 minutes. The Bosnian supporters were getting a bit too loud and were in a violent mood. An all in brawl was just around the corner.
Good game though,really intense.

agree top `win by raptors, knights looked solid for a half...sacred in fine form and left wing11 scoring a beauty....he's still running around the oval thinking the lazio scouts are watching.

still got a host of teams to beat but signs look good.

Reserves 3 - 2 win for Vista who were very good in the first half leading 3 - 1 at half time but 2nd half was not quite as good. Deserved the 3 points though.

A's 2 - 1 to Fulham. Vista played excellent today in one of there bet games of the season, luck just aint with us but you never would of thought it was 2nd v 9th.
Vista gave us a good run but we knew they were going to be tough as they have only lost there games by the odd goal.

They r full of run but Fulham's experience was the difference.

They will not be near the bottom of the ladder for long and will get some results going there way soon.

This time last year and it may have gotten ugly, but credit to our boys who in the face of a raucous opposition crowd, in an intense game, kept their composure and didnt react physically. Hope the league were there today to witness that.

Look forward to reclaiming the 3 points in the reverse rubber.

Was a good game today, I thought Bosna deserved their 1.0 h/t lead, looked the better side. 2nd half I thought Croatia were better, and unlucky not to atleast get a point. Conceded a needless own goal, but played well after that.

Ref did Croatia no favours...clear foul by their last defender on our striker who was through for a 1 on 1 and only a yellow given, and a clumsy challenge by a Bosna defender in their area waved play on. Not to mention Bosna's linesman who lifts his flag whether 2 metres offside or onside, ball cut backed or crosed square also is offside apparently these days too. Amateur football obviously means the world to these guys.

The bottle thrower was there again today...he should just give up, throws like a girl. Their supporters were loud, atmosphere was good actually - not like they got much else to cheer about but I wouldn't use the word violent to describe them.

Thanks for the mess left after the match too...but I guess you guys are used to having others clean up your shiiiite for you.

With 3 or 4 good players to return over the next few weeks for Croatia, there is hope for the rest of the season - but won't be easy.

Good luch to Bosna for the rest of the year - I actually expected better from your boys the way you talk yourselves up but you got the win and I guess thats all that matters at the end of the day.

WTF happened between Raptors and Knights today? That score line is unbelievable.

Bottles thrown again? These ferals will never change it's in their blood. The sooner they get kicked out of the league the better.
I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.

Sunday Div 3

B's - Adelaide Vikings 4 v Brahma Lodge 2
A's - Adelaide Vikings 3 v Brahma Lodge 0

Another win for the reserves today, three in a row and starting to become more settled. In the A's it was a tough game. Brahma were pumped to win today and came out firing, I saw so many unecessary hard tackles, Brahma seemed to be fixated on knocking in hard tackles rather than knocking the ball around, at times they coughed up possesion when they were on top because of silly fouls. Brahma still provided us with a tough game and I believe they will finish high up the table this year, they felt very hard done by the ref (who got a bad rap on this site last week), but silly yellow cards for rough tackles cost them in the end with 2 players sent off in the last 25 mins. 3 well finished goals by the Vikings in the second half was enough to grab another 3pts tho.

Yeah it was 4-0 in the B's for the Gully Topcorner, Brucy & myself with 2 each (& about time really) :D

Finally a win for us in the B's after some disappointing losses. I thought we dominated the game and I think they only had 1 or 2 decent chances all day. We had 3 or 4 in the first half but just couldn't score. We got lucky with our first after a bit of a goal mouth scramble but we knew after getting 1 the gates would open & they did. Hopefully this win will get us back on track.

A solid win for the A's as well. Definetly played better in the first half and took our chances although I thought it was a lot closer in the 2nd to the Pumas credit they never gave up. We needed that 3rd goal I thought just to be sure.

All in all 2 excellent wins for us.

& what about the Raptors shite. 7-0 I don't think anyone would've picked that!

Is that an official scoreline??? Because if it is, how many players did the Knights field??? Seems like they must of played with 5 players or something in that 2nd half???

That's the attitude - nothing like condoning a spectator throwing a bottle at a player...kinda stuff real heroes are made of.

Injuries are a part of football...game was playerd hard by both sides, ref looked after your lot ya got nothing to complain about.

You expected better from me? Not much I can do having a beer and ciggie from the sidelines. :clown:
