Re: Results 17/18 May
Saturday Division two
A's: Adelaide Villa 3 Adelaide Cougars 0
B's: Adelaide Villa 9 Adelaide Cougars 0
C's: Cove 6 Adelaide Villa 1 (I was told this was the score but not 100% sure)
The talk before me arriving was would the rain keep me away and the answer was no. The rain din't bother me, but the wind icy cold... probably the same at any ground.
In the reserves Villa won quite comfortably (as the result suggests). I thought the first goal was offside but the Cougars didn't protest it (strange since they protested everything after that), the flag stayed down and the goal stood. The next two were well taken strikes and Villa probably could have had more. I also got to saw one of those rare occasions when the goalkeeper takes a throw in. After the game said player said to me "it was there, I had it and I just hoped to god I didn't f*** it up". He said he hadn't taken a throw in since he was six... and come to think of it I don't think I ever have.
The first team game was lot tighter, particularly in the first half. Goalless in the first 40 minutes before two quick goals in succession made it 2-0. In a way the Cougars could have felt an injustice about the first goal, because seconds before it was scored there was a clear handball in the Villa area which the referee waved away and Villa then went on to take it down the other end and score. The referee missed a lot in this game and made a few bizarre decisions.

Monarchs 0-2 Flinders(A's)
Monarchs1-1 Flinders(B's)
A's game- Flinders had most of the play and missed a couple of easy chances, should have gone in at half time with at least 1 more than the two we scored. Second half we played very defensively and played on the break, Monarchs had some good chances but some fine saves from our keeper and some good defending meant we kept our first clean sheet of the year.
B's- Very even first half, lots of chances from both teams, didn't see the second half as i was getting changed.

SPOC 2 - 1 BOSA
Well obviously hard conditions to play in (mind you pitch was in great conditions considering), nevertheless a great hard fought win to the boys. We were 1-0 down at half time and we had not had a shot on goal for the entire half (only two poor efforts over the bar from M.B.
Second half was totally the opposite with SPOC playing with purpose and fight and once we scored one (a cracker from Johnny Olive) I think we always had the run of play and were the only team looking like winning.
So well done to the boys!!! A rest up cup round next week then to Wanderers!!! MASSIVE game....
By way well done to BOSA boys as they played a good brand of football. I think they will end up one of the teams up the top as it seems they have just forgotten what it takes tgo play a whole game. Once they do look out.....

As Cove 8 Ad Uni (2) 1
Uni actually went in front after we spurned numerous chances. Really should have been double figures, but Uni played it out and never gave up.
Bs Cove 3 Uni 0
Cs Cove 6 Ad Villa 1
Cs Monarchs 0 Cove 2

Re: Results 17/18 May
I did write a brief report above. I thought the first half there was chances at both ends and just before Villa scored the first Cougars did have a fair call for a penalty. From where I was standing it looked like a clear handball in the box. Mind you, earlier in the half the Cougars had a handball of their own waved play on (although that was in the middle of the park). The referee missed a lot today as well as making some bizarre decisions. Things I thought were a free kick he blew up and then gave the other way. A agree with you on the sideline whingeing. That was pretty bad. Second half you were definately the better side but only put one away. The GREEN & GOLD wrote:ADELAIDE VILLA 3 COUGARS 0
GOOD SPIRITED GAME, THE USUAL WHINGERS ON THE COUGARS SIDELINE ALSO PRESENT.
AN APPEARANCE BY BODØ COULD GIVE SOME FEEDBACK FROM A NEUTRAL OBSERVER, BUT MY BIAST EYE SAW VILLA TOTALLY DOMINATE ENTIRE PROCEEDINGS WITH THE SCORE FLATTERING FOR COUGARS.

Division 3
A: Torrens Valley 0 Vipers 5
B: Torrens Valley 0 Vipers 0
Scorers for the As were Ganiaris (2), Geladaris, Massis and J. Edwards.
The clouds only let rip during the Bs game but the conditions brought less goals than there could've been. A good win by the Vipers A's sets them on the right track for their cracking Cup match against Para Hills West, whilst the B's look forward to tackling Iggies in their respective fixture.

Great result boys! We played you last week a think very highly of you. Well done. Good to see you put the Monarchs back in their place!

Modbury Vista Vs Fulham United
Reserves 3 - 2 win for Vista who were very good in the first half leading 3 - 1 at half time but 2nd half was not quite as good. Deserved the 3 points though.
A's 2 - 1 to Fulham. Vista played excellent today in one of there bet games of the season, luck just aint with us but you never would of thought it was 2nd v 9th.
