Re: SASI Vs NAB
Im sure after taking a fair amount of the starting players from most clubs the sasi team would be in a good position at the top of the table if they were to play in the prems league.
Re: SASI Vs NAB
You got to be joking, they have had nothing but special treatment in the under 15cs and it's going to be very interesting to see if that continues...................... noarlunga back sasi or no sasi they dont get special treatment coz they are the 'so called' elite athletes of south australia.........
Re: SASI Vs NAB
You are joking Silly Billy, you are talking about very young players versus very seasoned players and players 19 and over who have been through SASI, played in State teams and been in National Pools. With due respect to the current SASI girls they would be out of their depth against the top clubs in Premier League.
Re: SASI Vs NAB
Prefly, dont know why you think playing in the 15c's is special treatment, shiraz treatment would be more appropriate. They are there because thats where the FFSA "decided" to put them. get over it.

Re: SASI Vs NAB
I beg to differ seeing as though almost all the girls in the sasi team are regular starting 11 players.
Have you seen the girls play?
Have you seen the girls play?
Re: SASI Vs NAB
fcuck there isnt much more you can do about it now
if they beat every team then good it shows that they can beat 15cs
maybe next year they can changed it all.
too late now!

Re: SASI Vs NAB
So beaches you think allowing a team to play senior reg players and to bring in ex- sasi senior reg players when they are short of numbers, is not special treatment!! For any other team in the JPL , E&D , juniors teams in SAWSA or for that matter any other junior comp in Australia its illegal. Wake up to yourselves ladies - not getting special treatment give us a break And before every one goes on about the squad only being 12 girls , Ive got an make to squad bigger! Shiraz that was hard wasn't it. I thought SASI was for the development of young talent not a training run for senior women. Ah! but the girls benefit from more senior women I hear you shreak!- but don't they get that in their club comp as most of (if not all) the girls play (or as silly billy states-"almost all the girls in the sasi team are regular starting 11 players.") in the Prem league.
Oh well Kevvy must love it being as he is-- "firmly entrenched at the 'Top of the League' after 6 games". Just love that web site

Re: SASI Vs NAB
I have only seen 2 halves of different games. That is not the point.
Those "bench" players they use would be playing for their clubs, along with others at their clubs who have SASI, State, Young Matildas, National Pool, and Australian players. Especially the top clubs in Premier League.
Yes 11 players may be starting players with clubs, as they should be, but taking a couple of SASI players out of the top clubs wont have much effect on their status. I dont agree with Shorty on score lines she mentioned, but the rest she said i am pretty much in agreeance.

No matter what anyone including me says, Diego is right, nothing can change now. The FFSA made the decision. As for the former Senior SASI players on the bench, they would be registered to play against the boys, the FFSA must have allowed that or they would not be playing. End of story.

Time to drop it and do something about it when you can do something about it and thats when they're putting together the divisions for 2009 ppls
Re: SASI Vs NAB
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when SASI played against Adelaide City (who are currently top of the premier league table having not lost a game) they only lost 1-0.beaches wrote:You are joking Silly Billy, you are talking about very young players versus very seasoned players and players 19 and over who have been through SASI, played in State teams and been in National Pools. AND they were minus a few of the SASI players as they were playing for Adelaide City for at least a half.
Re: SASI Vs NAB
Would I be wrong in assuming that girls learn more by being involved in a smaller squad?prefly wrote:So beaches you think allowing a team to play senior reg players and to bring in ex- sasi senior reg players when they are short of numbers, is not special treatment!! I think not. By having a smaller squad it allows the coach to develop specific players who are on the verge of playing at the next level. The current SASI players are the next 'eligible' generation of Matildas.
It is not a training run for senior women, clearly you have not been listening because the senior women have been starting on the bench and receive minimal time playing. Yes the girls do benefit from the senior women, in more ways than one. Not all the girls get to play with the senior and ex-national players at club but SASI provides this opportunity for the girls.
Debate at your will, this is only my opinion.
Re: SASI Vs NAB
Paps should be player of the year scoring 4 goal in the suposed 15-20 minutes these senior girls recieve after coming off of the bench.Lil-Lilly wrote:Mrs Trainer...it was actually 12-1
Paps - 4
Quigs - 6
and there were two own goals!!

Re: SASI Vs NAB
YES IT CAN They can stop playing senior registered players (SASI and Ex SASI) any time they want, but they don't want to. Doesn't matter what you people are saying about development and whatever, the coaches love the results and they wont do anything to Jeopardise them. They are as greedy as any other team for results, more greedy in fact as they are breaking (or bending) the rules to do it. oh IMHONo matter what anyone including me says, Diego is right, nothing can change now.
You just don't get it beaches do you, special treatment means getting something that other teams don't get, other teams are NOTallowed to field players who are overage (eg 16 in under 15) , let alone fielding senior players. It doesn't matter if its been sanctioned or not. Wake up! the SASI girls are getting special treatment, as you put it - End of story.
Re: SASI Vs NAB
Just a question, how old are the senior SASI players exactly?? Are we talking 17/18 or over 20???

a question i was going to ask.Dr.D wrote:Just a question, how old are the senior SASI players exactly?? Are we talking 17/18 or over 20???
Re: SASI Vs NAB
From what people have been saying on her the players mentioned are over the age of 20.deigo wrote:a question i was going to ask.Dr.D wrote:Just a question, how old are the senior SASI players exactly?? Are we talking 17/18 or over 20???
Re: SASI Vs NAB
The actual squad ages vary from 14-17.. then the senior players are yes over 20.. but do u think we love winnin 10-1 or 12-1 etc. every week? If we could be in a higher league we would as has been said i dont know how many times
Re: SASI Vs NAB
She has only played 2 games!!!
its not as if the boys even get it down that end!

Re: SASI Vs NAB
She shouldn't have played any games, makes a mockery of the under 15cs. How the hell are they going to pass their card check on Sat Hang on let me guess they don't have to show theirs because they haven't got cards. Again one rule for them, another rule for every other team in the JPL.

Re: SASI Vs NAB
Season 2008 and everything connected with sasi playing in the league, revamping eligibility, playing some past players and not others has been very poorly managed and executed.
Re: SASI Vs NAB
as for how high would you go?SpazzTic wrote:The actual squad ages vary from 14-17.. then the senior players are yes over 20.. but do u think we love winnin 10-1 or 12-1 etc. every week? If we could be in a higher league we would as has been said i dont know how many times
Re: SASI Vs NAB
Weel tbh Diego.. I played against the u/16's last year and altho results hardly ever went our way.. i think we gave the boys a hard game and sometimes the scoreline didnt reflect the way we played..
I think that 16's would be too high for the youngsters in our squad so prob 15a's would be a good league to be put in. but this is only my opinion

Re: SASI Vs NAB
After watching Sat game against Gawler I don't think they should be higher than 15Bs. A lot of C teams are their clubs "second 11" and they seem to lack some goal scorers as they are snapped up by the As. This wouldn't happen so much in the B division and I think SASI would concede more goals than they have this year. They would struggle against Salisbury or Adelaide Hills in the Bs (haven't seen all the teams in the Bs) and nothing against Gawler but they would be a middle of the table B division team
They were held by Gawler for a lot of the match but the womens fitness showed out in the last 15mins or so and had the better of the chances. Gawler had their chances in the first half but couldn't put them away, according to the people at Gawler their two leading scorers were both injured and they didn't seem to have anybody stepping up.
The As would be far to high for them. oh IMHO

Re: SASI Vs NAB
In fairness to both teams
(i) both teams were missing players; and
(ii) the conditions were challenging (swirling winds on a very small, uneven pitch).
The return game will be interesting...

It will be interesting on Wednesday night when the state Under 17 girls team play Adelaide Blue Eagles Under 15 a team as all the state girls are from SASI bar one player. (With a couple of Extra under 17s)
It will show then wether they should be in 15bs or 15as.
They also wont have help from the older girls. Should be a good game.
