i am predicting a draw 2-2. dont know much about the vikings whether they have picked up any players or not?

what are their strenghts and weaknesses? anyone know?
Finally playing a team more competitive than their first 4? I think you'll find they got out of jail against Munno Para. Para should have buried them when they were 3-1 up, and finishing opportunities would have done just that. Obviously they fought back and then held on for an amazing 4-3 win, but I think you'll find that even they'll say it wasn't exactly uncompetitive!
I'll just add that looking at the table, which has Blue Eagles sitting second to bottom, that I think that all teams are in for a long, tough year.
I second that Bucketman. We lost 2-1 to Vikings (with a bad GK error 10 mins from the end), led Brahma twice before drawing, had the better of Para for most of the game and drew, and lost to PPU after dominating the second half. We need to start turning dominant passages of play into goals!

I wouldnt say you had the better of munno para, more possesion yes, but all in your own half. Para were 1-0 up and you only scored cos a guy got pushed over in the box behind play.

Ha ha. Gold. It was actually a bunch of their kids, but never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn! My personal favourite was when an ES keeper was having a dirty day and let in a couple he probably should have saved. About the third one he conceeded he just started running towards the benches (as if he was going to get something) and he grabbed his bag and kept running. He ran to his car, got in and drove off. Both teams were dumfounded. Hilarious.

Must be a latino thing or something coz i remember when i was playing for the Maco's back in 1990 or ther abouts when we were over at pooraka for those of you old enough to remember, we had a guy called carlos in the team and were playing PHE. We were getting absolutely whooped and some way through the second half he just walked of the pitch and took off   final result was 11-0 i think....ouch!

No, I think we had the better chances as well - late in the first half and early in the second half we had three or four clear cut oppurtunities (open header straight at the keeper, open goal from cut back skied over the bar with keeper out of position and goalmouth scramble with a shot saved on the line), but that said, the penalty we got was very fortunate. However, the game is about scoring goals, not possession and chances!

Yeah mate he's a top lad. Went up for a header, another of our players had eyes for the ball and as alby jumped the player ran into him, Alby gets flipped over and lands on head and knocked out. didnt look good as he was convulsing on the ground, but trip to the hozzie checked out ok.

They are 12 hours behind, maybe he has picked up a crystal ball from the Camdem markets or something. Well hopefully you boys can hit peak form for round 8, snatch a few points off the Vikings as they look like they are going to be the team to beat...

for an early prediction i would say that Vikings and Munno Para are looking good for promotion Asteras will fall later on in the season
macos and brahma will be pushing up
i dont see the bulldogs going up after a 9-0 defeat at home even on their bad day

Hey King Eric, why didn't the Vikings nominate for the cup this year?

A combination of a few reasons Bucket, a very slow start to pre season with poor numbers turning out early made us sceptical of having enough players, alot of our lads work Saturday and if we got drawn a Sat game we would have been stuffed, first preliminary Round fell on a long weekend and Greek Easter and many of the boys were either going away or had family commitments for their Easter. Also looking at the draw this year, it has 3 games in a row then a bye then 3 games, a bye and so on, so that also sounded enticing. I love the cup structure but also like my weeks off :D

After 1/3 of the season the table is tarting to shape up and there are a few surprises.
Who would have tipped plympton bulldogs to be 2nd to bottom?
i thought that they were a decent side with some good players but league position says otherwise.

Another big surprise IMO is san marco who are sitting 4th.

Anyone out there from vikings care to give your opinion on who has been the best opposition so far?
