Sunday Division 1 Round 5

Post by swannsong »

Ingle Farm will travel to Argana Park to take on Elizabeth Downs.
This could be a season defining game for both clubs in the A's and the B's.
Expect a big crowd and hopefully, much improvement for the Downs.

Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles
Para Hills East v USC Lion
Para Hills West v Salisbury Florina
West Beach v Elizabeth Vale

If I can get out of the Farm's C2's which play at 3 pm, freaks then i will be there Swanny. Dont like my chances but at least I'm geting a game. Should be a cracker, surely your lads will be hurting after today's shock loss.

I drove South and they drove North but I suspect they are hurting.

Elizabeth Downs v Ingle Farm - The away game every club hates - FARM in a tight one.
Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles - Assuming no suspensions in the aftermath of the battle of Florina - GARDENS
Para Hills East v USC Lion - Lion only a sharp touch from breaking games open to beat undermanned East - LION
Para Hills West v Salisbury Florina - West out to win after dropping 2 points to Beach - WESTIES
West Beach v Elizabeth Vale - Vale onsong all bar the Farm game but cant hold that against them - VALE

If you trained last week you would have been in the C1's after you previous weeks performance. Given you picked the Farm this week, that may just sway my team selection Thursday night.

Certainly Downs V Farm A's and B's are the SAASL games of the Round this week. Both ressies undefeated and yet to concede a goal. The Down's thumped the Farm ressies 5-0 last year at home, what will happen this week, who knows. The A's game will be cracker, the Downs was the only team to defeat the Farm twice last year, will the tables turn this year. Both games too hard to call and will be very tight. Farm too win both on the Downs harrowed turf, I hope. FARM

Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles - Who knows what will happen following this weeks all in brawl, will the League toughen up on its stance towards all in brawls in an attempt to stamp it out? Will both teams be made examples of? If not, Gardens to turn it around. GARDENS

Para Hills East v USC Lion - I think the East will finally get a win, EAST

Para Hills West v Salisbury Florina - Same predicament as the Gardens - WESTIES

West Beach v Elizabeth Vale - VALE

Fair call mate. However I quite like playing the C2's. Quality young players in the line up. The only disadvantage is missing the A's games.

there doesnt seem to be many people to confident in picking the DOWNS this week coming. Trust me any club coming to ARGANA PARK is going to find themselves in a very difficult situation. Their are a lot of players very pissed off with the contribution that was put in on sunday. Please be assured everyone will be putting there hand up for an extremly hard week on the track and even harder TEAM performance on the weekend. If it has anything to do with me the DOWNS WILLLLLL be 100% ready to play HARD, FAIR football. GOOD LUCK.

I think that's the sort of spirit the Downs faithful will be pleased to hear.
As I said I think the clash with Farm will be a season defining moment for both clubs.
The Downs recent success has made them the "club to beat" and most other clubs lift a notch to try and knock them off.

I'd say that's all the motivation our lads will be looking for this weekend.. Simmo is an excellent coach and I know he is chomping at the bit for this one..

Still wondering why Bert went off after 10 minutes, I'd say a tough challenge early in the game will tell a tale there..

Looking forward to the game, last season's match at your ground was a good game to watch, Matty Blackwood was the difference that day I thought

Too early to call it a 'season defining game' for Downs and Farm.
It is only round 5 after all!

Elizabeth Downs v Ingle Farm - Draw, tough place to go and win.
Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles - Gardens, eagles got lucky last time around
Para Hills East v USC Lion - East to get a win at home, a lot of spirit in their club
Para Hills West v Florina - Draw
West Beach v Elizabeth Vale - Vale will love playing on the bowling green

Elizabeth Downs v Ingle Farm - 1 - 0 Downs to win against the farm only by the one but they are deffinately due a clean sheet and where better to do it then the farm?
Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles - 2 - 0 Gardens to win but win ugly surely to be some controversy in this one penalty or send off at least.
Para Hills East v USC Lion - 2 - 0 East to show the pride they have in themselves and build on this result
Para Hills West v Florina - 2 - 0 West to be too strong at the back and maybe snatch a couple up front
West Beach v Elizabeth Vale - Vale to edge out a tough one

Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles............. 1-3 Pontians to get 2nd win for the season. That's if gardens can get over losing and don't end the game early...

Para Hills East v USC Lion........ 0-3 lion to finally show some form. surely they can't be that bad all year. hope easties get stuck in, although badly undermanned

Para Hills West v Salisbury Florina............. 2-1 westies to bounce back after a shocking game last week

West Beach v Elizabeth Vale....................... 0-3 vale back on song. gonna be tough to beat for the rest season

Elizabeth Downs v Ingle Farm............... 1-1 definetly game of the season so far. 2 quality sides, with some of the best players in the league on show.

Downs V,S farm..... farm to win easy 3-0 Downs have lots there edge. Great to see! 3 in a row mayby not!

Gardens V,S Pontian..... Close game gardens to get up 2-1 Scotty to hotty mancelino off the bench to score the winner.

Para hills east V,S USC..... USC 3-1 strong team need to get fit though.

Para hills west V,s Florina..... Florina will get up 3-2 with ten to go. will go the biff and steel the points.

West Beach V,S Vale..... Vale 5-1 the ground might be a factor vale not used to playing on a bowling green. no vale bounce(tricky).Ditimah with another hatrick with new gun stricker Sponge Bob!!! to chip in with 2.

Good write up LP - Sponge Bob has been on great form at training this week, smacking goals in from everywhere !! Could be a permanent position move up front.

Its going to be a tough game, travelling away to West Beach will be no walk in the park.
Sounds like there pitch is pretty good so if we get our passing game going hopefully we can open their defence up and put away a few early goals.
Club should organise a bus, could be a pub crawl on the trip home.
At the end of it all there will still be Football !!
It wasn't Bad but its Far from Good !

I know it should read "lost thier edge, but that is not true. Edge is playing very well at the moment.

Ha Ha ! Been reading this banter for ages, just couldn’t hold back any longer, here’s my view :

Parafield Gardens v Pontian Eagles.............Pontians will be up when the Gardens invade the pitch.
Para Hills East v USC Lion........ Lion desperate for a win & will just get over the line.
Para Hills West v Salisbury Florina............. Westies 2-1
West Beach v Elizabeth Vale....................... Vale 5-1
Elizabeth Downs v Ingle Farm.................. “Tough game” “Will be a Draw” etc etc

Ha Ha Get real ! Reality check is looming ! Downs are struggling & will get smashed ! After hearing all the boasting & bragging at every possible conceivable opportunity over the last couple years everyone has had a gutful, talk about a broken record, at 4:45 on Sunday no one will give a sh%t about what you did last year, never mind 06 ! So do yourselves a favour & don’t bother to mention your past accolades to the Farm boys, as you so often do, cos they won’t care ! Living in the past boys !

Captain Fat Ass will clean up whatever small offerings the Farms defenders miss & make life real hard for Downs Strikers regardless who plays up front. If Bert’s fitness will let him & he doesn’t lose that elusive dummy then being the champion he is he’ll get into the box unchecked with the ball in the air & perhaps smash one of his trademark headers into the back of the net, failing that I’m going with the Farm 6 zip. Good luck Downs I hope ya’s win but even with the might of the Downs Army paro & in full flight ya’s have got NO chance. OOOOHHHH Eat Sh%t & Good Luck Champions, Champion of Champions or whoever & whatever ya think ya’s are !

fair enough but i think Burt will struggle to get a free header up front (not taking anything away from him he is a qaulity player) but captain fat ass is not a small boy himself and i think he will be able to shut Burt down in the box.
