Dang! it was hard out there today and not for the faint hearted. For the most a great derby and couldve gone either way in the end. As you would expect in a derby it got a bit heated on and of the field but entertaining all the way to the end.
p.s to any brahma lads reading... we hope the player who had the fit is ok.

Munno Para v San Marco
A's 5-1 (1-0)
B's 3-1 (1-1)
An excellent day for Para, especially on top of the c's 4-1 win over the cove, and the girls 3-1 win over Macedonia earlier in the day.

Nice win for the Munno Para yesterday, nice to get a win at home, our first home game for a month! We do have a couple of players out at the moment but the players that were called up are more than capable. Off to El Sav next week for another route!

Asteras 1 - 0 Plympton
B's
Asteras 2 - 2 Plympton
Good game to watch.. Asteras got the first goal in the first half and kept the pressure on. Plymton came out hard in the second half but thanks to Asteras' defence and a couple crucial saves by Asteras' keeper the 3 points went to Asteras. Plymton's keeper had a great game saving many good shots on goal too.

Disappointing result for our A's - missed an absolute sitter early on, and keeper saved a penalty at the end of the first half. PPU were pegged in their own half, but we just couldn't score! Was very frustrating to watch, but story of our season so far.Big G wrote:payneham v blue eagles

The derby against San Marco this week will be absolutely crucial!

can see el salv pulling out the league, for those familiar with div 3 last yr they are the new chilean. even towards the end of last season they were forfeiting games

Re: Div 3 results, comments, reports etc
Yep I am getting nervy about that sparts, knowing our luck they will pull out before we get to play them and it will screw us in goal difference with only 3-0 for a forfeit (and teams have been beating them by 6 or 7). If they did bail it would be good if all teams got their scorelines defaulted back to the forfeit score.sparts wrote:can see el salv pulling out the league, for those familiar with div 3 last yr they are the new chilean. even towards the end of last season they were forfeiting games

I reckon your better off with the 3 points if that happens. I dont think goal diff is going to determine the top 2 this year.TheBucket wrote:Yep I am getting nervy about that sparts, knowing our luck they will pull out before we get to play them and it will screw us in goal difference with only 3-0 for a forfeit (and teams have been beating them by 6 or 7). Re: Div 3 results, comments, reports etc
Hey TheBucket after the Chilean's pulled out the league wiped out all of the results and the season was then a 16 game season
Re: Div 3 results, comments, reports etc
Yeah that certainly would work. Did they also deduct the goalscorers etc.?BADA BING wrote:Hey TheBucket after the Chilean's pulled out the league wiped out all of the results and the season was then a 16 game season
Regardless I hope El Salvador can hang in there, they have been around a while and have always been a good bunch of blokes that never cause any dramas and despite never being a powerouse they have always been competitive.

I agree...we had a minor incident at their ground last year but they still drank us out of corona.....and incidents can happen anywhere as the div 1 boys have just shown us.TheBucket wrote:Yeah that certainly would work. adelaide vikings seem to be quite strong this year..they r def a team to watch out for. they are playing plympton bulldogs this week, it will be interesting as they will finally play a team which is more competitive than their last 4 games.
i am predicting a draw 2-2. dont know much about the vikings whether they have picked up any players or not?
what are their strenghts and weaknesses? anyone know?

Finally playing a team more competitive than their first 4? I think you'll find they got out of jail against Munno Para. Para should have buried them when they were 3-1 up, and finishing opportunities would have done just that. Obviously they fought back and then held on for an amazing 4-3 win, but I think you'll find that even they'll say it wasn't exactly uncompetitive!jelly fish wrote:adelaide vikings seem to be quite strong this year..they r def a team to watch out for. they are playing plympton bulldogs this week, it will be interesting as they will finally play a team which is more competitive than their last 4 games.

I'll just add that looking at the table, which has Blue Eagles sitting second to bottom, that I think that all teams are in for a long, tough year.TheBucket wrote:Finally playing a team more competitive than their first 4? has always been incidents when we played el salv. a few years back at their ground we were beating them so they started a fire next to the pitch!

Re: Div 3 results, comments, reports etc
TheBucket last year they did deduct points and goals, we defeated Chilean 15-0 and one of our guys scored 9, they never appeared again after that loss and Omero who scored the 9 goals went from top goalscorer of the league to about 6th.

I agree. We wont get a real good idea of how everyone is shaping up until the end of the first round of games.....TheBucket wrote:I'll just add that looking at the table, which has Blue Eagles sitting second to bottom, that I think that all teams are in for a long, tough year.TheBucket wrote:Finally playing a team more competitive than their first 4? G'day Handy, Alby was back at the club that night after having scans at the hospital, so all good. Cheers. He's probably more upset about having a free kick awarded against him for itHandy_man wrote:B's
