Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
what robbo needs to know is who won?
hmmmm , cant argue with that.
Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
well as a neutral i went down and witness a referree lose control
florina up 3-2 2 minutes to play
firstly , referree awards penalty to parafield ..yet the linesman interfers and say it was out of the box ...frustration builds
as parafield was lining up to take free kick ....florina keeper punches and knocks out parafield player and awards another penelty
in result an all in brawl ( players only) erupts ...ref decides to cancell play without letting parafield take penelty

Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
3-2 to florina then. more than 75% of game played. would suggest the result will stand. mateur league will now get to show everybody about their new get tough stance about club violence. very interesting
hmmmm , cant argue with that.
Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
after their tough stance i would imagine no points to either side.gardens cant claim any points even though they had an opportunity to get 1 and the florina keeper starting an all in would ensure no points and florinas b team keeper playing in the a's for a few weeks.

Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
didnt this happen to croatia vs vikings last year? both teams got no points, and were banned for there two remaining matches and made to forfiet. if i remember correctly. will be interesting to see.
cleveland rocks!
Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
from expireince this can go either way.....i have been in 2 similar incidents with brawls in the last 2-3 mins and both had different outcomes...1 had a replay 6 weeks later and the offending players played against each other again after serving 3 match bans, the other went to the winning team at the time.
conclusion if losing , cause a brawl and take your chances at the tribunal......deducting points is a sure way of stamping out any onfield dramas.
unless you video tape all your games the hearings often come down to the ref's report regardless how accuate it is.
good luck

Im sure (correct me if Im wrong) at the Amatuer League meeting just before the season started. Alex Chick said both teams would lose points if a situation like this happened ? regardless of who started it or retalliated !
A TEAM OF CHAMPIONS WILL NEVER BEAT A CHAMPION TEAM!
Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
Results are up on the SAASL website and it is saying a 3-2 win to Florina..

There's more speculation on here than the Australian Stock Exchange, where's Rene Rivkin when you need him ?

Correct me if im wrong swanny, but aint Rene hanging off the 5th floor???swannsong wrote:There's more speculation on here than the Australian Stock Exchange, where's Rene Rivkin when you need him ?
I also heard about this brawl. I think though, that if Florina is awarded the 3 points because of the 75% of the match played rule, it could spell a dangerous precedence for the SAASL. Irrespective of whether players are suspended or not, if Florina gain the points for this match, what stops another team who is in the same position as Florina was today, 3-2 up with a penalty to face in the dying minutes, from doing the same thing all so they can gain the maximium points???
I agree under normal circumstances, that Florina should be awarded the points because they were 3-2 up with well over the 75% of the game being played, however, this is not a normal circumstance because the Gardens had a penalty decision that was given to them BEFORE the brawl took place. Will be a very interesting week at the Amatuer League headquarters i would imagine.
I must add, what the hell were the Gardens players thinking??? Did they not know that an all in brawl would give the referee every opportunity to call the game off??? A little silly i reckon on their behalf, but i dont blame them for helping each other out, thats what mates and teamamates are for i guess.
This would not be happening if the FFSA were in control of the Amatuer League because they would of stamped this behaviour out from day 1, and both teams would be deducted points heavily, fined heavily, and if it were a case of violence with people being hurt, then automatic suspension from the league for LIFE would follow. This is the Amatuer League for Gods sake fellas, your supposed to enjoy your Football. Go join the World Boxing Association if you have the urge to have punch ups.
Deduct 10 points off both teams, then see whether they ever fight again

Based on the 'facts' above neither team should get points.

I haven't seen any facts on here yet, only hear say. I think that we should wait to hear the refs report before commenting, espically from people who weren't at the game.Bodø Glimt wrote:Based on the 'facts' above neither team should get points.
Firstly we need to establish which fans ran on the pitch first and their reasons for doing so. If one teams fans invade the pitch to attack the other team, then that teams fans would enter the pitch to provide some protection to their players. Again I dont know all the facts but I think that would be a pretty important aspect to work out before passing comments that both teams should be deducted points.
Very sad this has happened. It is this behaviour which needs to be removed from the game. I would suspect, the spectators that entered the field of play had a drink or two under their belt also. Again, thats hear say so I will take my own advice and wait to hear what is written on the referees report.

i do believe in one of the above posts from someone who was there it says players only.... would be interesting to know if this is true as should result in a different course of action

Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
lets get back to how it really started. a player from florina was repeatedly punching a gardens player in the back on the goal line. gardens player got fed up then taps the florina player in the guts and i mean taps him he went down in a screaming mess. florina keeper starts swinging at every one and then it went from there. no gardens supporter went on to the pitch it spilt off the pitch.

If the ball was not in play then the correct restart should have been the original free kick and not a penalty.bloodypassit wrote:as parafield was lining up to take free kick ....florina keeper punches and knocks out parafield player and awards another penelty

Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
Florina and Gardens should have points taken away it takes to to tango. As for keeper should be out for rest of season full stop happend to me i got 9 games against florina about 4 years ago.
If this doesnt happen then you know the league is bias and what goes for 1 club should go for everyone.

carnt say i seen any red dont think the ref had a chance. It does take to tango but when one players hitting another he carnt even claim self defence it gets put down to retaliation and they both end up with games.

i think jay has nailed it, until we hear what actually happened from the referees report anyone who wasnt at the game cant make assumptions. as fro the points deduction well thats up to the league to decide however it will show how seriously they take it. i have grown up around football and many times have i seen fights on pitches between both players and supporters, i remember a modbury jets game where one player was walking of the pitch as he didnt want to get involved and a supporter hit him with a can of beer. i think it is something that the game does NOT need. it is such a beautiful game and supporters ruin it by doing silly things. if someone is getting hit or punched on the pitch leave it to the ref to sort out and if he cant then let the players sort it out. dont ruin a game of football coz your mates getting hit, if he dont like it tell him to hit back! if he is being assaulted then thats a legal matter to be sorted out after the game.

That's why I put marks on the term facts above, because I wasn't at the game so I don't know what happened. Perhaps I should have been more clearer, but what I meant to say is that if the statements above were true then neither club should get points. If the referee deems one team to be at fault a 3-0 forfiet should be given in favor of the other team.Jay Walking wrote:I haven't seen any facts on here yet, only hear say. I probably would have done the same, but I don't think I've been involved in a match where anything involving more than two players has broken out.imanoutlaw wrote:where one player was walking of the pitch as he didnt want to get involved

After the Amateur league brought in these new rules at the end of last season I think now the time has come for them to make an example of this situation and make sure it is stamped out of the game for good. Cant comment to much about the situation as I wasn't there but I hope strong action is taken unlike a few times last year where it went unpunished!

Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??
I probably shouldn't comment as I was not there either, however I have spoken to a player who was playing.
From my understanding the Goal keeper was punished for his actions and was red carded. Nothing else but the usual push and shove and players seperating other players happened until the away team supporters ran on to the ground and ( I use this word loosely ) attacked the offending goal keeper. Other players that werent involved in the fracas were also assaulted with a supporter attempting to punch an innocent ( on this occasion ) bystanding player whom was lucky to only come out of it with a scratch to the nose from the offenders ring and then was kicked by another supporter before summing up his options and then back dooring the scrimmage.
I agree that action needs to be taken to avoid these incidents in the future however the goal keeper will get his punishment via the normal red card suspension avenue. but clubs that have their supporters attack players should be the ones that are punished.
Unfortunately for the Gardens they may have cost themselves the point as the player involved reckons they were all over Florina and with the keeper being sent off it may have been enought for them to pick up a point . The referee did explain that the reason the game was called off was due to the on rushing gardens supporters ( i'm sure not all of them ). He also mentioned that as the ball was dead a penalty could not have been given the existing free kick had to take place.
