You will find in english clubs, they will play in their age group, or at most one year above. So if he's 14 the highest he can play is under 16. Not a club ruling, but the English FA.
Clubs have a youth team from 16 -19, with the odd 15 year old breaking through, which is an exception rather than the rule.
A friend of my sons was in the Man Utd academy side, and they weren't happy he was playing above his age goup at school by more than 2 years.

hey, i dont play soccer or even like it. But i went to primary school with Bradden Inman if its the same guy XD, In australia. some time within about 2 years he left for england after primary school. that would have made him maybe 14 when he moved countries(prob 16 now same as me). Was wondering how good he is? and what chance has he got of becoming a professional player relevant to the stage he is currently at.

Baron 5,
if you don't play FOOTBALL, or even like it, then why make your first post on a FOOTBALL forum??

I agree with MegaBonus, and if this forum was not started about one individual player, why bring up the name in the forum?gunner#14 wrote:this forum was not started about one individual player, i believe the focus was on whether people believe that it is necessary or not to leave overseas at a young age to play football for all players in general. So please feel free to discuss this matter but maybe not the one regarding this player.MegaBonus wrote:why would any1 want to bag a 14yo for doing what he loves. he's not the type of guy to diss it out, so why the agro?????

Re: promising young talent moving overseas
i know bradden back when he played for modbury. hes been at newcastle for a while now bout 1 to 2 yrs.
i saw him score a wonderful volley when he played 4 metro 15s. hes a very good skillful attacking player.
ive heard he has been doing well and their waiting for him to be the right age to go up another level...so i heard anyway a couple of weeks back

Re: promising young talent moving overseas
quick question 'supporter' how do u know the kid has an uncle involved with the club?
also um i typed in the nufc website on google n checked out the site...not that hard
and his profile is on the academy u18s
also found some articles
hope these links work:
http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Ne ... 88,00.html
http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Ne ... 10,00.html
it seems like he's at a good level considerin he's 16 ..go him! so relating to the original question from nathan..yer it does seem okay because the training and more opportunities presented in england (newcastle) is far more than what adelaide offers..his skill has probably improved tremendously and that was probably the best decision of his life to leave aus
.. i think..if you've got a positive attitude, support, the opportunity to and the determination to go for it,, then why not..?.

Re: promising young talent moving overseas
who gives a shit if hes skillful
what else can he do?
can he pass well from long and short distance?
can he use his other foot to the same effectivness as his strong one?
can he header?
and what are his physical attributes like?
for an instance if he gets a knock will he get up and go or will he stay on the ground?
and another thing
its one thing to have good skills but another to use them in a game
