The Downs are quite quiet, because apart from the 1st Team and Reserves winning
their Sunday Division 1 Titles 2 years in a row and winning the Champions of Champions Title
2 years in a row
, this year is very young and no team has achieved much as of yet.....

having seen the game on sunday., i thought it was a good contest. both sides went for it and were equally unlucky to not have come away with all 3 pts.
downs got a penalty with last kick of the game westies unlucky not to hold on.
mind you radford missed from 1 yard out with the keeper laying on the ground.

but to say downs have a young side this year you've got to be joking me.
when you start a game with bert fuda, reeves, butler, mark kelly, steve hughes, and i'll say agars cause he's played senior feds for a number of years, come on.
i agree it is only rd 2 and we'll wait and see as the season unfolds but going on the game from sunday they did not look anything like the downs side of the past 2 years. they looked a little old and slow.
if ross taylor can get fit may be he might give them that cutting edge they were missing on sunday.

have a look at the westie's team if you wanna see a young side. average age on sunday must have only been about 22.
apart from the harris brothers and spiby at the back

good start to the year for the westies hopefully they can continue the good early form this week

From side line viewing it would appear the downs are lacking the usual fast pace and young talent of the last couple of years...

Old and experienced is one thing, but they are not fit and are not training and this could be the down fall of the downs in 2008.

Maybe they should go on a recruiting drive......

I hear Playford are about to lose quite a few players due to lack of player payments and hilariously high fines....The Coach must have learnt some of Enfields tactics on how to turn players against a club.....

Shame downs are a great club... and Playford could be...but not with the management they have right now....

The Downs haven't lost a league game in 08 & it's way way to early to be writting off any club two games in, let alone back to back champions.

Dont worry the Downs will be in the mix come the end of the season along with the Vale, Farm, Westies & the Gardens......

This weeks games will show where most clubs are at, but I believe it's going to be the tightest 1st Div. title race in many years.

I disagree, keep on ranting Steedy (in capital letters of course), success gives you the privelege to rant as you see fit and, as a bonus, it gets up the nose of this imbecile.
