Great game to watch from start to half time. The pace dropped off in the second half after a blistering pace in first half.

I thought that Dave Eggers had maybe the best game I have seen him play in a long time. He was in everything and seems to have fitted in to the set up very well.

I would have hated to see what would have happened if Dunt started and Ricky Simpson wasn't in there. I thought he was well average and if Dunt was playing he certainly would have added much more than him.

Plus a missed penalty and missed one-on-one by Torsten, could have been much worse for Vale....

Agreed, it was an exciting game to watch. Vale were outclassed today just about all over the park. Their defenders couldn't match the pace of Farm's forwards who terrorised them all day. Brookes showed some class but lacked service and so was fairly quiet. Thought Eggars had a decent game but not best on park. As for Dunt not playing was that due to injury? On the money monkey boy - the bloke playing in his position today didn't look like the same quality of player.

Awesome game to watch, rough and tough and lots of goals..

Thought Ricky played quite well myself, wasnt the best player, but was serviceable. Very harsh.

Leon and Eggers were very impressive.. Tors and Wade outstanding.

Farm's defence first class, wasnt a bad performer on the park for Farm today..

Dunty will play his part

great game to watch for the neutral observer
the big man at the back for farm being the clear standout player on the day
the difference in fitness levels of the 2 teams was stark , the vale may struggle with that later in the season

farm will take some stopping....

Good win by the boys today in the first team. It was always going to be a physical contest and Vale didn't disappoint.

I thought we controlled the game well enough but did play one or two too many long balls. In saying that we were able to outpace Vale enough for the tatic to work.

Hard to not name someone who didn't play well today. Defence controlled most of the Vales attacks. I thought our midfield was excellent also. Harsh critism of Rick who is probably the most honest player in the team. He may give the odd ball way but the ground he covered today and the space he created was superb. Laid some excellent tackles and slowed down many of the Vales attacks through the middle. Eggars best game of us so far this year. Copped a behind the play elbow and a lot of stick from the Vale crowd but it only drived him to run harder. Brad as his usual was his classy best.

Our strikers were great all day. I think probably our two best players.

Dunty wasn't able to train this week and Ricky trained very well. No doubt Dunty will earn his spot back.

Great result but can't get to far in front of ourselves. Down, Gardens, Westies, Pontians and Florina are all tricky games. Easties will be pumped up for our derby game to. Nice to be on top but certainly a long way to go in the season.

B's dominated the game from start to finish and deserved the win. Knocked the ball around well and created lots of chances. First half was scrappy but got better and better as the game went on. Eddie the ref wasn't to bad today. Actually thought he did a good job in the second half.

The C's was disappointing. So many chances, lots of possesion but only got a 2-2 draw. Vale took their chances and really should of won it in the last minute. One of their guys missed from about 3 yards out. I had my first game in the C's and was ordinary to say the least :( Should get dropped down again to the C2's.

"Dunty left out due to not being able to train??? Knowing Dunty like i do....i am sure his reason/s were legitimate and after all this is amateur football not the EPL. Surely a player like Dunty has earned his stripes over the years...enough to not get dropped for missing a training session. Jay, your comment regarding Dunty earning his spot back is ridiculous. If there is more to it that i am not aware of, then fair enough. However, based on what i know, this decision to leave him out borders on a lack of respect and/or arrogance....luckily it didnt effect the result....this time!!"

Get over it champ, hardly a lack of respect, sounds like he is new to the club and has to earn his spot just like everyone else, unless your club doesn't have the depth to leave players out, otherwise fair play to coach and the players probably respect him more for sticking to his guns not letting reputations get in the way of his team selections.

Great game to win for the Farm,

Brad Donovan outstanding, won 2 pens, scored an effortless free kick and an assist for the first goal,

Strikers Wade and Torsten gave the Vale the run around and the Vale defence couldnt get near them.

Ricky Simpson was very good and created a goal.

We were beaten by a better team, we will have to take this one on the chin and be better prepared for the next game against Lion.
Well done Farm and cheers for coming in for a drink or 2 after the game.

THE WHO!!!! Welcome back buddy!!! How is work going?

Anyway, I totally agree with your comments, but you have to have a look at their squad. It is probably the strongest I have seen in many years (better than downs), and therefore Simmmo has the chance to treat the squad like a Feds team. To Dunt's credit he was fine with the benching and I am sure that he will fire up the guns and get back in the starting 11.

As for Simpson, get over it boys, Dunt or groomy would have been a better choice. Would have been interesting if the result went the other way. My opinion is you were 'carrying him' yesterday. But that is obviously my opinion and you don't want to upset your team mates!!! Decent striker, not midfielder.....

Your entitled to your opinion but I think Ricky played his part well yesterday. He is very well suited to the physical games but thats not to say others aren't. There were 4 great players on the bench who all deserved a run.

As for Dunty, it was a coaching decision and they are free to pick and choose the teams as they see fit. Adam would be up in my top 3 players at our club. We spent a bit of time attracting him to the club without big money or great facilities so we aren't going to treat him as a nobody. There was a legitimate reason he couldn't train but others did. He took it on the chin and at the end of the day, as long as we get the points, I'd rather be in a successful squad and playing in a losing team. Adam is and will be great for our club, he proved that during the 25 mintues he got today. He made some crucial tackles, intercepts and set up some excellent play. David Eggars didn't play the first game for us. He sat on the bench for the whole game and trained the house down the following week. Jonesy played Ressies for the first game of the season.

You can choose to critise our coaches decision for not playing him but I'll give you some facts. On average, we have over 50 people each Tuesday and Thursday to training. It is rare that a first team player wouldn't train two nights. If he missed due to injury, he would still be down to get treatment and to watch. It would be hard to make our B's team if you didn't train. This is because the coaches have developed a culture of training and they make training interesting. No disprect to Gully, but they would love to have this sort of scenario givern the 'so called' problems they have with trying to get people out to train. How many people do you get out to training at St Peters Monkey Boy? So call it what you like but over the last 5 years since Simo has been in charge, we have won Div 3, Div 2, finished second in Div 1 and our ressies have won Div 3, Div 2, finished second in Div 1 and won the Cup two years in a row. Sure its not the EPL, but we take it seriously whilst having fun. One of the main reasons that we were able to attract a guy like Dunty to the club.

I do agree with the benching of dunty. Every club would love to have the depth and training numbers Farm has. I think your just stirring the pot Monkey Boy! If that is there policy and they have players to fit in and do the job, then it must be followed otherwise there is no point in the policy. Who wouldn't love to be able to have groomy and dunty on the bench or playing reserves???
Sure Dunty was shattered to not be playing, but im sure he will take it on the chin and trian as hard as usual and get his starting spot back against us. Unfortuantely

Come on "The Who", I think your comments about arrogance and lack of respect is a bit far fetch. If you know Simmo you know he demands respect and has total respect and a lot of time for his players. Simmo has a simple rule, if you don't train at least once in the week you will not start no matter your excuse. All the players are well aware of this, Eggers had the same fait in round one. He could have easily slotted Dunty in but what does that say to the rest of the guys who trained hard last week, now that is a sign of respect to the rest of his players.

I totally respect and support Simmo's decision. It is club policy that you have to train so he really had no choice. Due to this policy huge numbers train and train very hard.

I believe some unfair comments have been made on here about Ricky. Ricky is a great player who has done an amazing job to come back from knee surgery during preseason. He has trained really hard, pushing through the pain, and thoroughly deserved his spot on Sunday. I also felt he had a solid game, as did everyone.

I will spend the next two weeks putting in the hard yards on the track and we will see what happens for the game against my old club. As long as the club makes it four out of four then I will be happy.

In the future I will plan shorter holidays.

Why does the hot oil rub not surprise me.  You guys are just lucky you dont have anyone doing massage down there. It was a normality for him to get a full body massage at every opportunity. I really dont blame him though, i was in there a fair bit too. She was quite hot and did have nice knockers.   hey farmer joe and monkey??

You, Farmer Joe & Kirky spent 3/4 of the training sessions getting a massage.

Easties are financially much better off now, less cost for massage oil!!!

A great win by the Farmers.

Apparently Eggers has a cracker of a game, class always rises to the top in the big matches.

And it's only going get better for them with the return of Clarkey who I rate as the best central defender in the league still to return from his holiday to Vegas, I mean his work commitments in the USA.

With the above two mentioned, Dunty and Zorro who by all accounts is very talented these four new additions to an already very talented squad could take the Farmers from the bridesmaid to the bride this season.

I suggested the decison 'bordered' on a lack of respect and/or arrogance. That is my opinion....and correct me if i am wrong, but this is a forum isnt it?? On this occassion my opinion happens to be a criticism!!

In my opinion you cannot put all your players in the same box i.e. specific senior players who have earned there stripes over the years and the likes of Dunty who trains a significant amount away from the club, are surely excempt from such policy.

I dont need facts on Ingle Farm....i know what i need to know, enough to form an opinion or two. Dont get me wrong, I applaude Ingle Fram for its endeavour. They have created an atmosphere which all clubs wish to create. However, there is, in my opinion a fine line between endeavour and arrogance....decisions like the one involving Dunty cross the line in my opinion.

I dont remember Sir Alex leaving Keano out of the side for missing a training session......

Bottom line is, the season is 3 games in and Farm are doing well, so who am i to judge?? But i will give my opinion....

oh and East boy...give it a rest you homo ha ha!!! alreet Monkey Boy?? work goin well......as long as i am back for the second round v Ingle Farm i will be happy!!!! Hopefully Dunty is on the pitch long enough for me to kick him....

Zorro has actually been at the club for 5-6 years. Wade in the other new player. Torsten returned to the club.
